Angier - Thomas "CP" Hyatt, age 78, entered into the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Pleasant Plains Community Church, 174 Boykin Road, Lillington, NC, with Pastor Tim Batten officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier, NC.
CP was born on June 2, 1937 in South Carolina. He served 10 years as a Tank Commander in the US Army National Guard. He retired from North Carolina Iron Works, where he worked as a welder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Blanchie Haire Hyatt; sister, Inez Bryant; and brother, Lloyd Hyatt.
CP accepted Christ as his Savior in 2013 and became a member of Pleasant Plains Community Church and followed the Lord in baptism. He looked forward to Sundays and Wednesdays at church where he got to see his brothers and sisters in Christ. He shared a home away from home with his family at Surf City, NC, where he enjoyed fishing and just sitting and talking with friends at Blackbeard's Family Campground. He lived life to the fullest, and always had a positive outlook on everything and always had a good story to tell and just enjoyed being with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dale Hyatt; daughter, Kim Boyles and husband, Robbie of Shelby, NC; son, Mike Hyatt and wife, Francine of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Teresa Fowler and husband, Johnny of Angier, NC; granddaughters, Caitlin Boyles, Chelsea Ramsey, Alison Hyatt, and Anna Fowler; grandson, Steven Fowler; brother, JT Hyatt and companion, Jeanette Marshall; sister, Lois Partin; and many special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Pleasant Plains Community.

Bobby Wayne Duke
Bobby Wayne Duke, 62, of Green Level Church Rd., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, in Western Wake Medical Center after a brief illness. He was an electrician for Duke, RTI, UNC-TV and Wake Radiology. Mr. Duke was a life long member and deacon of Green Level Baptist Church and custodian of the church. He was a member of Green Level Masonic Lodge 277 and past master. Mr. Duke served his country with the U.S. Army. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Green Level Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Revs. Jeff Pratt, Rob Castle, and Keith Vaughan. Burial followed in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Millie Cayer Duke; son, Bobby Wayne Duke Jr. of Green Level; brothers, Linwood Duke and wife, Mary Lou of Fuquay-Varina, Curtis Duke and wife, Sandra of Durham, Titus Duke and wife, Elsie of Durham, Billy Duke and wife, Jackie of Durham, and Marshall Duke and wife, Phyllis of Durham; sister, Brenda Lorren of Cary; and sister-in-laws, Peggy Duke of Cary and Alice Duke of Oxford. Mr. Duke is preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie Duke, and brothers, Hoover, Milton and Eugene. The family received friends at Apex Funeral Home. Gary C. Carwell
Gary Cevernon Carwell, 66, died Tuesday, August 19, 2003. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2003 at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, 401 N. Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina. Burial, Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh.
Mr. Carwell was co-owner of Capital Plumbing Company for 30 years.
Surviving, loving companion, Brenda Partin and her daughter, Lisa Petruolo of Raleigh; sons, Ronald G. Carwell and wife, Vickie of Raleigh, Michael W. Carwell and K. Chris Carwell both of Garner; sister, Connie Darlene Parrish of Willow Spring; brothers, Eddie Carwell of Nashville, Ron Carwell of Woodbridge, VA and Johnnie Carwell of Raleigh; grandchildren, Josh, Lauren, Summer and Caleb Carwell, Rachel and Emma Petruolo.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 20 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home and other times at the home of Brenda Partin, 9109 Old Stage Road, Raleigh.

William Edward Smith
William Edward Smith, Professor Emeritus, North Carolina State University School of Textiles, died Monday, July 28, 2003. The son of Frank and Lucy Connelly Smith of Milton and High Point, N.C where he was born March 30, 1924. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Robbie Johnson Smith, in 1997. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Hallie S. Martin and brothers, Thomas K. Smith, Thurlow Smith and Wallace M. Smith. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Robbie Lane Smith Jackson and William Robert Jackson of Fuquay-Varina; brother and sister-in-law, Richard Arlen (Ray) and Carmen Smith of Tracey’s Landing, Md.; sister, Iris Smith Jones of Kensington, Md.; sisters-in-law, Thelma Smith of Norfolk, Va. and Barbara Smith of Shallotte. The family received friends at Thomas Funeral Home in Fuquay-Varina on July 29. A memorial service was held at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Charles Dorman officiating. Fuquay-Varina - Mary Jones, age 65, died on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at The Laurels of Glenn rest home in Garner, NC.
Mary was born on April 17, 1949 to the late Robert and Rachel Moore of Fuquay-Varina, NC. In addition to Mary's parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jones and son, Mark Jones.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Jones and wife, Shannon of Portland, OR; Shane Jones of Fuquay-Varina, NC; sister, Ann Boyd of Forest City, NC; and brother, Robert Moore, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Fuquay-Varina, NC; three grandchildren, Alix, Courtney and Kayla Jones; two nieces; one nephew; and one great-niece.
A memorial service will be conducted at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Fuquay-Varina, NC on Monday, February 2, 2015, with Pastor Tim Batten officiating. Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. followed by the memorial service at 3:00 p.m.. The family will be at the home of Robert and Kathy Moore, 6232 Sunset Lake Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC.

Jessie Lucille Jones Ragan
Jessie Lucille Jones Ragan, 88, formerly of Fuquay-Varina, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at Cary Health and Rehab. Mrs. Ragan was born in Caswell County to the late Henry and Rena Barker Jones. She was married to the late Dee Edward Ragan for 57 years. Funeral service was held at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 3217 Piney Grove Wilbon Rd., Fuquay-Varina, officiated by Dr. Chris Connor and the Reverend Steve Gordon. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina. She is survived by four sons, Clarence N. Ragan and wife Sara, Stephen P. Ragan and special friend, Wanda Jeffries, J. Michael Ragan and wife, Ruby, all of Fuquay-Varina, Freddy C. Ragan and wife, Henrietta of White Lake, N.C: daughter, Lucille R. Vuncannon and husband, Wade of Fuquay-Varina; daughters in law, Mary Lou Ragan, Jackie Ragan, and Carolyn Ragan; sisters in law, Mamie Smith, Eva Smith, Cora Ragan, Exie Ragan, and Julia Ragan. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Mrs. Ragan is preceded in death by her sons, Lynwood T., Charles A., and Ellis R. Ragan; grandson, Chris Ragan; and daughter in law, Ann L. Ragan. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Troy, Warnie, and Winfield Jones; and sisters, Lula Thornburg, Hattie Jones, Florine Wood and Blakie Bunn.
