Frank Kornprobst, 99, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. He was born on December 7, 1915 in Bad Tolz, Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Johann Kornprobst.
After joining the German Navy in 1936 to "see the world", he served on the battleship "Scharnhorst". in 1951 he decided to move his family to the United States. His first wife, Ilse, died in 1967. He lived in Binghamton for 56 years, and worked on the West Side as a long time barber. He moved to North Carolina in 2007 with his second wife, Helen who predeceased him.
Mr. Kornprobst is survived by daughter, Ilse Mallory and husband John of Fuquay-Varina; son, Michael Kornprobst and wife Phyllis of Henrico, NC; granddaughters, Dana Mallory of Cary and Kara Larson and husband Philip of Holly Springs, NC; grandson, Darren Kornprobst of Blacksburg, VA.
The family thanks the staff of Windsor Point Continuing Care Community and caregivers from Centerpeace for their care and compassion for Frank.
A Funeral Mass was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Binghamton, NY at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015. The family received friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial followed the service at Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Fuquay-Varina - Ronald D. Page, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC. followed by an interment at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina, NC
Ronald was born on February 24, 1926 in Jersey City, NJ to the late John and Anna Page. He also is preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Lowell, Raymond Lowell and Helen Self.
Ronald grew up in Teaneck, NJ where his love for athletics began. He was an all-star baseball, basketball and football player at Teaneck High School. He was offered a junior contract by the
Brooklyn Dodgers; however during his senior year, he dislocated his shoulder and his career path changed. On an academic scholarship, he excelled at Colgate University. After graduation he began a rewarding 47 year career as a journalist for the Bergen Record in Hackensack, NJ. He was also a feature writer for the Fuquay-Varina Independent. The highlight of his career was
his interview with President John F. Kennedy. Ronald was an extraordinary man who will be greatly missed.
He leaves his loving wife of 47 years, Margery Page; his sons, Glenn Ronald and wife, Erika and Scott Matthew and wife, Julie; and five grandchildren; Vienna Marie, Roman Gabriel, Berlin Gabriella, Matthew Vincent and Jacob Marshall.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home.

Gerald Joseph McLaughlin, 61, of Leadmine Road, Raleigh, died Thursday, May 15, 2003 at Rex Hospital due an extended illness. Mr. McLaughlin was a native of Arlington, Mass. A memorial mass will be held May 22 at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church. Mr. McLaughlin is survived by his wife, Patricia Ridge McLaughlin: a son, Michael McLaughlin and wife, Shauna of Apex; daughters, Kathleen McLaughlin of Woburn, Mass, and Maureen Gunter of Danielson, Conn.; grandchildren Cameron, Connor, Danielle and Ryan. John Howard Upchurch
John Howard Upchurch, 84, of 106 Perdue Street, Garner, died Monday, October 24, 2005 at Rex Hospital. He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Edward and Lena Hurst Upchurch. He retired after more than 50 years of service with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Mr. Upchurch was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Air Force, and was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Garner. He was a loving husband, father and devoted friend.
The Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, October 26th at First Baptist Church of Garner. The burial followed at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. Mr. Upchurch is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lila Upchurch; and daughter, Debbie U. Faulkner, and her husband, Shawn of Garner. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
