Brucie Williams Leonard, 86, formerly of Wake Forest died Wednesday March 16, 2005 at the Raleigh Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. She was born in Alamance County, the daughter of the late Ella Gerringer Williams and Nurney Loftin Williams; was a member of Falls Baptist Church and was married to Woodrow Wilson Leonard, Sr. who preceded her in death on July 3, 1994.
Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon March 19, 2005 at the Falls Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Ashe officiating. Burial followed in the Falls Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by her daughters, Judi Leonard and her husband, Miller Sigmon and Teresa Doman and her husband, Ron; a son, Woodrow “Woody” Leonard, Jr.; brother, Loftin Williams, Jr; grandson, Jeff Leonard; 2 step-grandchildren, Adam Doman and Kristi Harp and her husband, Wayne; 3 step-great-grandchildren; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and special friends.

Evelyn Currin Bailey
Evelyn Currin Bailey, 80, of 6920 Zebulon Road, Wake Forest, died Thursday morning March 17, 2005 at her home. She was born in Vance County the daughter of the late Maude Andrew West Currin and Weldon Currin and was a member of Rolesville Baptist Church. She was married to E. Norris Bailey who preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon March 19, 2005 at the Rolesville Baptist Church with the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by her sons, Ronnie R. Bailey and his wife, Carole of Louisburg and Tommie L. Bailey and his wife, Kay of Wake Forest; sisters, Mabel C. Edwards of Wake Forest, Sallie Wood of Castalia and Frances Faulkner of Richmond, VA; brothers, Perry W. Currin of Louisburg and W.A. Currin of Henderson; 5 grandchildren, Rodney Norris Bailey, Rhonda Gail Blackmon, Wendy Dale Green, Michael L. Bailey and Lori Bailey; 7 great-grandchildren.

Charles Edward Bright, III
Charles E. Bright, III, 50 of 364 Worth Road, Spring Hope, died Monday, March 14, 2005 in an automobile accident. He was born in Brooklyn, New York the son of the late Dorothy Rang Bright and Charles E. Bright, Jr. Mr. Bright was a diesel mechanic for Triad Mack and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, March 18, 2005 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Murrell officiating.
Mr. Bright is survived by his wife, Virginia Rizzio Bright; father, Charles E. Bright, Jr. of PA; daughter, Holly Johnson and her husband, Ken of Youngsville; sons, Joey Loffredo and his fiancée, Lauren Pinola of Raleigh; Charles Bright of Bunn; sister, Doreen Lomax of PA; brother Eugene Bright of NY; granddaughter Halana Johnson; sister-in-law, Angela Bryant of Spring Hope, several nieces & nephews.

Martha O. Brown, 71, of 7658 NC Hwy 96 West, Franklinton, died Wednesday, March 16, 2004 at her home. She was born in Mangham, Louisiana the daughter of the late Ollie Shoemaker Smith and John Elmer Smith and was married to Emmit Franklin Brown who preceded her in death.
A graveside funeral service was held at 11:15 AM on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her sons, David Brown and his wife, Pam, Mark Brown, Daniel Brown and his wife, Patricia, Paul Brown, John Brown and Steve Brown and his wife, Suzanne; a brother, Alvin Smith; a sister Betty Antal; 11 grandchildren.

Viretta Lee Petro
Viretta Lee Petro, 83, of Raleigh, passed away peacefully at her apartment on Saturday, March 12, 2005. She was born in Muncie, Indiana on April 19, 1921 to Lula and Brooks Redding. Viretta had lived her remaining years in the Raleigh Area but was a former resident of Whispering Pines, NC, Monroe, NC, Fredericksburg, VA and Orange County, NY.
She is survived by her three sons, David, Thomas and Phillip Petro, their wives, Mary, Maxine and Corinne and by 4 grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, James and Cara.
She had forged numerous loving friendships throughout her life, with a special bond by means of devoted friends in Fredericksburg, VA.

George T. Dunn
George T. Dunn, 83, of 5553 Old Still Road, Wake Forest, died Friday, March 18, 2005 at Duke Health Raleigh Hospital. He was born in Providence, RI on June 15, 1921, the son of the late George F. Dunn and Jennie Wood Dunn. He graduated both from Bordentown Military Academy, Bordentown, NJ and from Boston University, Boston, MA and was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. As an employee of National Grange Mutual Insurance Company of Keene, NH, Mr. Dunn was general manager of the Rutland, Vermont Branch for nineteen years and district manager for seven years before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, the former Esther Alexatos Picard; a daughter, Judith A. Dunn of Goshen, NH; a grandson, Thomas M. Abare of Goshen, NH; step-children, Elisa Davis and Christine Stallard of Cumming, Georgia, Gaylord Picard of Wake Forest, NC and Layne Picard of Meadville, PA; He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia McQusten Dunn.

Donald A. Brandt
Donald A. Brandt, of New City, NY, died Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Castle Point VA Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a short illness.
Donald was born November 3, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to Gustave and Wilamina Brandt.
With his brother, Don was raised at the Ottilie Orphan Home in Jamaica, NY and attended the Trades High School in New York City. He Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Mess Sergeant at Ft. Dix, NJ.
Don owned and operated a family business in White Plains, NY and later worked for Map Communications in Hackensack, NJ. He was an avid gardener and landscaper, enjoyed classical music and had an extensive understanding of languages. Don enjoyed travel as well. He had an extraordinary sense of humor and was an amazing cook and baker. He was a member of the American Legion in New City and the Rockland German/American Club.
Graveside funeral services were held at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, March 23, 2005 at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Christa (nee Patzold); daughter, Karin Yates and three grandsons, Garrett, Cameron and Nicholas all of Wake Forest; brother, Rev. Warren Brandt and his wife Joan of Upper Nyack; niece, Carolyn Fox and her husband, Artie; nephew, Carl Brandt; grandniece, Mackenzie; and in Germany, a sister-in-law, Maria Patzold; nieces, Gabrielle Stumpfl and Erica Hirzinger; nephew, Norbert Patzold and their families.

Helen Leonard Price, 88, of 4120 Rogers Road, Wake Forest, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at Sunnybrook Alzheimer’s and Health Care Center. She was born in Davidson County and was the daughter of the late John Hollis Leonard and Gertrude Mason Leonard. She was a member of Forestville Baptist Church and was married to William Jasper Price who preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, March 22, 2005 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Nicholas Muteti officiating. Entombment followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Price is survived by her daughters, Shirley P. Jackson and husband, Harvey of Raleigh and Billie P. Broughton and husband, Forest, Jr. of Zebulon; sister, Mildred Mangum of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Debra Goetze, Cheryl Bunch, Jackie Haley and Leigh Anders; 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Leonard.
