Glenn Roy Lantz, Jr., 79, of 70 Buckingham Court, Franklinton, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Duke Health Raleigh Hospital. He was born in Sussex County, NJ and was the son of the late Ina Drew Lantz and Glenn R. Lantz, Sr. Mr. Lantz attended Newton High School in Newton, NJ and was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving in both WWII and in Korea. He was in the first wave to invade Omaha Beach and was a member of American Legion Post 187 in Wake Forest. For 40 years he worked with Selective Insurance Company of America, first as an underwriter and later as Purchasing Officer before his retirement.
A memorial service will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, April 23, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Newton, NJ. Burial will follow in Beemerville Cemetery in Beemerville, NJ.
He is survived by his wife, Janet L. Lantz; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Harry Buckner of Franklinton; granddaughter, Jennifer Buckner of Franklinton; sister, Julia Roe of Branchville, NJ; brothers, Darryl Lantz and Jimmy Lantz both of Newton, NJ.

Jane Reynolds Thedieck
Jane Reynolds Thedieck, 75 of 177 Longview Court, Youngsville, died Friday April 1, 2005 at Rex Hospital. She was born in Mecklenburg County, NC, the daughter of the late Effie Stogner Reynolds and Eugene S. Reynolds. Mrs. Thedieck was a member of the American Artist Association and a former president of the Wake County Republican Women Association.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2005 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Pastor Les Lawrence officiating. Burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Thedieck is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Thedieck, Sr.; daughter, Julie Bartlett and her husband Dennis of Youngsville; son, John Thedieck, Jr. and his wife Joy of Wake Forest; grandchildren, John Thedieck, III, Thomas Thedieck, Benjamin Thedieck, Rachel Thedieck, Rebekah Bartlett & Olivia Bartlett. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Christian Bartlett.

Pauline W. Butchee
Pauline White Butchee, 95, who lived in Meridian, Mississippi for most of her life died Tuesday March 29, 2005 in Wake Forest. She was born in Kemper County, Mississippi daughter of the late Lelia Swearingen White and Gaines Dorsett White and was preceded in death by her husband Charles Robert “Buster” Butchee; 7 brothers; Walter, Bernice, Hanaan, Herndon, Algie, Cline, Jesse and 3 sisters; Eunice, Gladys and Rubye. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church and a former member of Highland Baptist Church in Meridian. A memorial service was held on Friday, April 1, 2005 at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh.
A graveside funeral service was held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon April 5, 2005 at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Meridian, Mississippi.
Mrs. Butchee is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Taylor and her husband Ray of Rolesville; 2 grandsons, Alan Taylor and his wife Pamela and Bradley Taylor of Rolesville; great-grandsons, Corbin and Ashton Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.

Louise Frazier Piper
Louise Frazier Piper, 78, of Hillside Nursing Center, formerly of Franklinton, died Friday, April 1, 2005 At Duke Health Raleigh Hospital. She was born in Franklin County the daughter of the late Annie Hagwood Frazier and Otha H. Frazier and was married to Johnny Piper who preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, April 4, 2005 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. H. W. Harrell and the Rev. Robert A. Piper officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Piper is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Young of Franklinton, Rachel Dement of Louisburg, Peggy Garrett of Mt. Hope, WV and Sheila Archambault of Wake Forest; sons, James Piper of Raleigh, Charles Piper and Ricky Piper of Franklinton, Jerry Piper of Oxford, Joe Piper of Henderson and Danny Piper of Louisburg; brothers, William Frazier of Virginia and A. D. Frazier of Youngsville; 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her children, Michael and Sarah Ann Piper.
Pallbearers were James Piper, Jerry Piper, Ricky Piper, Joe Piper, Danny, Danny Piper and Eric Kearney.

Robert E.G. Britton, Jr.
WAKE FOREST- Robert Edward George Britton, Jr., 59, died early Sunday morning, September 4, 2005. A native of Ft. Smith, AR., Bob was born April 30, 1946 to the late Mary Sue Calvert Britton and Robert Edward George Britton, Sr.
He was a graduate of Northside High School, Ft. Smith, AR, in 1964 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1988 from Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri.
Bob was a writer. He began his career in radio news, then moving to print in the late 70’s. He wrote for numerous publications, as well as serving as editor of the Air Midwest in-flight newspaper and later of his own publication, North Raleigh LIVING. Always precise with the words he selected, both in print and speech, Bob enjoyed debate, political discourse, and discussions on any and all topics.
He is survived by his wife, Jan, and three sons: David of Wake Forest, Mark and his wife Venus of Centennial, CO, and Bob, III of Ft. Smith, AR; three grandchildren, Olivia, Amber and Malcolm of Centennial, CO; sisters, Margaret Smith and Mary Sue Britton, both of Waxahachie, TX; brothers, Nemo and his wife Karen of Nemo, TX, and Kenneth of Ft. Smith, AR; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Burial and graveside services will be held in Wichita, Kansas.

James A. Catlett
WAKE FOREST- James A. Catlett, 81, of 709 Mill Ave.. died Thursday morning at Hillside Nursing Center. He was born in Wake County, son of the late Bessie Lowery Catlett and James William Catlett. He was retired from the Royal Cotton Mill.
Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, September 3, 2005 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Wells and President Joseph Cartlett, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Wake Forest Cemetery.
Mr. Catlett is survived by his brother, Joseph N. Catlett of Fayettville; a nephew, Joseph N. Catlett, Jr. of Fayettville; niece, Melody Buzalewski of Anderson, S.C; 5 great nephews and 4 great nieces.

Brucie Williams Leonard
Brucie Williams Leonard, 86, formerly of Wake Forest, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Raleigh Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. She was born in Alamance County, the daughter of the late Ella Gerringer Williams and Nurney Loftin Williams; was a member of Falls Baptist Church and was married to Woodrow Wilson Leonard, Sr. who preceded her in death on July 3, 1994.
Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, March 19, 2005 at the Falls Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Ashe officiating. Burial followed in the Falls Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by her daughters, Judi Leonard and her husband, Miller Sigmon and Teresa Doman and her husband, Ron; a son, Woodrow “Woody” Leonard, Jr.; brother, Loftin Williams, Jr; grandson, Jeff Leonard; 2 step-grandchildren, Adam Doman and Kristi Harp and her husband, Wayne; 3 step-great-grandchildren; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and special friends.
