Leo Husketh, 84, of 808 North White Street, Wake Forest, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Wake Medical Center.
Mr. Husketh was born in Vance County, the son of the late Mary Eleanor Nelson Husketh and Junie LeRoy Husketh.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, April 21, 2007 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Wells officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Husketh is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Husketh; daughter, Margaret Annette Long and husband, Gary, of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Robert Kyle Hobbs, Michael Wayne Pryor, Christopher Lee Pryor and Ashleigh Husketh-Long; great-granddaughter, Angel Hope Height; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Larry Rigsbee, Lucas Rigsbee, Daniel Williams, J. W. Cooke, Donald Pearce, Michael Rigsbee and Bobby Sidney Hobbs.

Jerry Olive ‘Wahoo’ Baker
Jerry “Wahoo” Baker, 61, of Louisburg, died Saturday, April 21, 2007 at his home.
He was born in Louisburg, on June 19, 1945, the son of Frances Denton Baker and the late James O. Baker. Mr. Baker was a member of New Hope Christian Church and was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Faulkner.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, April 24, 2007 at New Hope Christian Church with the Rev. Steve Barham and the Rev. Ricky Beddingfield officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Vickie Bryant Baker; daughter, Pamela Dawn Baker of Florida; two stepsons, Anthony Hicks and wife, Kirstin, of Youngsville and Tommy Strickland of Zebulon; his mother, Frances Denton Baker and special nephew, Curtis Faulkner of Louisburg; and special uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pearce of Zebulon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary’s St., Raleigh, NC 27605.
Pallbearers were Pedab Pearce, Frank Vester, Tim Billings, Johnny Bryant, James Fowler and Tommy Pearce.

Frederick N. Mayer
Frederick Nelson Mayer, the son of Frederick and Elsie Nelson Mayer, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 27, 1919, and lived with his family for most of his life in Brooklyn, and Glen Head, Long Island, N.Y. He passed away on September 23, 2007, in Wake Forest, NC.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Dorothy Carol Mayer of the Gardens at Wakefield, Wake Forest, and their sons and their respective families and grandchildren, Frederick Nelson Mayer and wife, Margaret Mayer of Wake Forest, Donald Richard Mayer and wife, Tina Mayer of McAllen, Texas, granddaughters Kelsey Rae Mayer and Adrienne Mayer DeAngelis (husband, Christopher. Another son, Steven Charles Mayer, predeceased Mr. Mayer.
Among his accomplishments, Mr. Mayer was recognized by the National Office of The Boys Scouts of America as an Eagle Scout in October of 1936 and Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm in February of 1938. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the School of Science and Technology, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York, on May 8, 1942.
Mr. Mayer joined the United States Navel Reserve and was commissioned on the 20th of February 1943. He received further advanced electronics and radar training at Bowdoin College, Maine, MIT, Boston MA, and Bell Laboratories, N.Y. In addition, Mr. Mayer served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater as an Electronics Officer from June 1943 until July 1946. His military service included staff ComSubTrainPacific, ComDesDiv and service on the U.S.S. Conway (DD-507) as well as the U.S.S. Eaton (DD-510). Mr. Mayer remained in the Naval Reserve for fifteen years and had a successful career at the Office of Navel Research and the defense industry for the United States Navy.
A memorial service honoring his life was held at 11 o’clock Wednesday September 26, 2007, at The Gardens of Wakefield Plantation.

Michael Terry Lull
Michael Terry Lull, 51, of 5360 Mill Dam Road, Wake Forest, died Sunday, September 23, 2007, at his home.
Mr. Lull was born in Troy, New York, the son of Berta Fette Lull and Robert Lull. He was the former owner and CEO of Communications Technology in Mahwah, New Jersey.
Services will be held at 12:30 p.m.., Sunday afternoon, October 7, 2007, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.
Mr. Lull is survived by his wife, Denise Picconi Lull; sons, Zackary Lull of the home and Kristopher Lull and wife, Holly, of Youngsville; step-sons, Glen DePiero of New Jersey and Cory DePiero of New York; parents, Berta Lull and her companion, Bill Stevens, of Virginia and Robert Lull and wife, Maria, of New York; siblings, Tony Pelicone of Virginia, Kim Gallo and husband, Nicholas, Robert Lull and wife, April, Lynn Reorude and husband, Kelly, and Patrick Lull, all of New Jersey, Travis Lull of Connecticut; many nieces & nephews.

ELIZABETH "LIB" R. HOYLE
SMITHFIELD -- Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" R. Hoyle, 80, of 830 Berkshire Rd., died Thursday at Carolina House of Smithfield.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Benson United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Benson City Cemetery.
Mrs. Hoyle was born July 6, 1918 in Johnston County, to the late Walter O. and Luna Stevens Rackley. Mrs. Hoyle owned and operated Mrs. W. O. Rackley's Drygoods in Benson. She was a member of the Benson United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hoyle was a past manager of the Benson Chamber of Commerce and was a former member of the Benson Planning Board. She was a very active member of the Democratic Party, and was named the Democratic Woman of the Year in N.C. for 1984. Mrs. Hoyle was the chairperson of the Johnson County Board of Elections. She was appointed to the USS NC Battleship Commission by Gov. James B. Hunt, Jr. Mrs. Hoyle was a member of the Smithfield Women's Club and was voted as the Club Woman of the Year in 1976.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John "Jay" Lindsay and Deborah "Debbie" Sykes Ferguson, III of White Oak, and a granddaughter, Jaime Lynn Ferguson.
Family will be at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson 7-9 p.m. Saturday.
Frank McDonald Riggs
Frank McDonald Riggs, 70, of 3408 Sheryl Drive, Raleigh, died Friday, April 20, 2007 at Rex Health Care.
Mr. Riggs was born in Pamlico County, the son of the late Lillie Mae Whorton Riggs and Jesse L. Riggs, Jr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a retired systems analyst for the State Computer Center and a member of Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Mr. Riggs is survived by his wife, Joyce Perry Riggs; daughter, Lisa Ann Franklin and husband, Kenny Lee, of Wake Forest; son, Robert M. Riggs of Raleigh; brothers, Jesse L. Riggs and wife, Ruth, of LaGrange and William H. Riggs and wife, Harriette, of Raleigh; sister, Helen Hill of Raleigh; and one grandchild.
A memorial service was held at 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, April 23, 2007 at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bowyer officiating.

Franklin Taylor Hall, Sr.
Franklin Taylor Hall, Sr., 78, of Wake Forest, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Hillside Nursing Center.
He was born and raised in Guilford County, the son of the late Mary Lee Taylor Hall and Alpheus Burnett Hall, and worked as a sales associate for over 45 years dealing with many electrical supply manufacturing companies. Mr. Hall was a man with many loves which included golf, Carolina Panthers Football and gardening, just to name a few. He was also a loving father, brother and grandfather and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, April 20, 2007 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro.
Mr. Hall is survived by his daughter, Cindy Bowman of Wake Forest; sons, Franklin Taylor Hall, Jr. and wife, Kim, of Wilmington and Thomas Burnett Hall and wife, Lisa, of Wake Forest; sister, Charlene Hall of Greensboro; brother, Edwin Hall and wife, Vera, of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Ashley and Austin of Wilmington and Brittany, Jordan and Landon of Wake Forest and several nieces and nephews.

Nathan Elliot Naas, 3
Nathan Elliot Naas, age 3, of Wake Forest, died June 1, 2007, at home after a courageous fight against cancer.
Nathan was born June 12, 2003, in Indianapolis, Ind. He filled his days with music, trains, storybooks, baseball and love of family. He was an inquisitive and curious learner, always fascinated by gears, moving parts and new adventures.
Nathan’s family moved to Wake Forest, in September 2004, and he built many loving relationships with his cousins, his church family at Heritage Baptist Church, and his friends at Heritage Children’s Academy and his Kindermusik class. His extended church family is Wise Baptist Church in Warren County. He also enjoyed his airplane trips to visit his grandparents and extended family in Skaneateles, N.Y.
Nathan is survived by his brother, Joseph Wilson Naas, 2, and parents Aaron and Leigh Anne Naas of Wake Forest; maternal grandparents, Bruce and Delaine Perkinson of Wise, and paternal grandparents, Bob and Jane Naas of Skaneateles, N.Y.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins across the country.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (www.pbtfus.org).
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Jimmy W. Allen and the Rev. Kenny Davis at Wake Forest Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2007. Burial followed in the Wise Baptist Church Cemetery in Wise.

Jim Israel Jones
We pay tribute to Jim Israel Jones, a man who had far-reaching influence and embraced all who were in his presence.
He was a man after God's own heart. Jim was an honorable and abundantly blessed man. He will be greatly missed and remembered by all.
Jim Israel Jones was born on January 13, 1929, to Jim Jones, Sr. and Ida Landy in Springfield, S.C., where he grew up. He moved to New Rochelle, in 1947. He moved to New York City, where he met Drucilla Hudson his "Strawberry" in 1952. They later married on November 29, 1953, and lived in Manhattan, N.Y., before moving to Queens, N.Y., in 1970, where they lived for 34 years and raised four children.
Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He worked for the NYC Transit Authority and later retired from the NYC Department of Sanitation. He had many hobbies, which included fixing things in his garage in Queens. One of his most favorite things to do was sing, "HE LOVED TO SING" all the time! He always had a song for anything going on around him.
Jim Israel Jones is survived by his wife of 53 years, Drucilla Jones; four children; Kim Jones of and Anthony A. Jones, both of North Carolina, Eric D. Jones of Michigan, and Terence J. Jones of California; five grandchildren; Desmond J. Jones and Areinia S. Adams, both of North Carolina; Jordan A. Parks Jones of New York; Eric Dean Jones, Illinois; and Kaje N. Jones of Michigan; six great-grandchildren, Da'Vone Jones, Maya A. Jones, Nyasia Jones, Damien Jones, Quinten Jones and Ava S. Adams; five sisters; Mabel Williams of South Carolina, Lillie Mae Pore of New York, Ora Blanche Broadnax of South Carolina, Geneva Bell of South Carolina and Estelle Williams of New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jim was a wonderful husband, father, teacher, preacher and debater. He will definitely be missed by all. We Love You and forever honor you Jim Jones! There I go, there I go, there I go……..
