MARGARET J. DICKENS
SANFORD -- Mrs. Margaret Jenks Dickens, 76, of 504 Hickory Ave., died Tuesday at her home.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Carl Rush.
Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
Surviving: daughter, Martha Patterson of Sanford; brothers, K.B. Jenks of Graham, Ed Screws of Pittsboro, Garrett Screws of Pittsboro; sister, Betty S. Crisp of Raleigh; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the Miller Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
NOLA ANN DOLINGER
DURHAM -- Ms. Ann Dolinger, 46, of 3913 Love Drive, died unexpectedly Wednesday at her home following a courageous struggle with declining health.
Ann was born in Fayetteville, WV, but had been a resident of Durham, for most of her life.
A homemaker, she as a member of First Trinity Baptist Church, the Bible Sunday School Class and the Ladies Auxiliary of the church.
She is survived by her father, Mr. Glen Odell Dolinger; two sisters, Alice Vaughan and Connie White, both of Durham; and her brother, Roger Dolinger of Creedmoor.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham, Rev. George Hales and Rev. Bob Dolinger officiating.
Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Joe Keith, Joe Dolinger, Darrell Harris, Jamie Dolinger, Carl Glenn and Bill White, Jr.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 7-9 p.m. at Clements Funeral Home in Durham, and at other times at the home.
WILLIAM M. EASON
PETERSBURG, VA -- William McGee Eason, 77, formerly of Raleigh, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997.
Funeral service 1 p.m. Friday, June 13, 1997, Petersburg.
Surviving: sons, Charles and Chris; daughters, Mrs. Jennie Vaughan, Mrs. Dorothy Vincent, all of Petersburg; sister, Margaret E. Young of Raleigh; brother, Ben Eason of Raleigh.
GILBERT "BINK" EDWARDS
CLINTON -- Mr. Gilbert "Bink" Edwards, 77, of 517 Concord School Road, died Tuesday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church with the Rev. Dudley Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Mae Parker Edwards, the son of the late Will and Dollie Edwards Edwards and a former deacon at Elizabeth Baptist Church.
He is survived by: daughter, Mrs. Judith Meri of Hopewell, Va.; son, Mr. Gilbert Edwards, Jr. of Concord; sister, Mrs. Janet Sessoms of Roseboro; three grandchildren, Mark Edwards, Jason Edwards, and Selena Crumpler all of Clinton, and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7-9 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
JIMMY WAYNE ELLINGTON, SR.
MIDDLESEX -- Jimmy Wayne Ellington, Sr., 45, of 11169 Baldy Hill Road, Middlesex, died Tuesday [June 10, 1997].
Funeral 3 p.m. Friday at The Norman Screws Chapel of Family Funeral Care, Zebulon. Burial in The New Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors: wife, Joan Willoughby Ellington; son, Jimmy Ellington, Jr. of Zebulon; step-sons, James Edward Etheridge of Apex, Dennis Ray Etheridge of Middlesex; brothers, Don Croom of Clayton, Nelvin Ellington of Raleigh, Orman Ellington of Cary; sisters, Charlene Sanderford of Zebulon, Shelia Ellington of Cary; sisters, Charlene Sanderford of Zebulon.
He was predeceased by a brother, Barry Ellington.
Jimmy was employed with White's Tire Co., of Raleigh.

LAURA MAE P. HOOPER
BUXTON -- Laura Mae Powers Hooper, 74, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997 in Raleigh. Mrs. Hooper was born in Winston-Salem, and was a resident of Buxton, for 49 years. She was a retired high school home economics teacher and was an active member of the Buxton United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Howard Edward and Katherine Bissett Powers and the wife of Edgar Ormand Hooper of Buxton.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Hooper is survived by one daughter, Katherine Ann Hooper Smith of Raleigh; two sons, John Robert Hooper and Buddy Hooper, both of Buxton; two sisters, Peggy Goodrum of Cary, Katherine Roberts of Appleton, WI; four grandchildren, Abigale, Chase, Avery and William.
Funeral service will be held at the Buxton United Methodist Church on Friday, June 13, 1997 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jim Huskins and Rev. Keith Roberts. Burial will be in the Miller family cemetery.

RAY McKINNEY KAUTZ
RALEIGH -- Ray McKinney Kautz, 85, of Raleigh, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997.
She was a native of Raleigh and a member of Temple Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary's Street. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.
Ray is survived by her, granddaughter, Dawn Perlotto of Woodstock, Ga.; grandson, Brian Smith of Raleigh; two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

WALTER E. "BUCK" LANGLEY
DURHAM -- Mr. Walter Edward "Buck" Langley, 78, of Durham, died Tuesday evening following declining health. He had been a life-long resident of Durham, and was the son of the late Edward G. and Lessie Morgan Langley. Mr. Langley was a retired employee of Mclean Trucking Co. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during World WarII.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillie Johnson Langley; stepdaughter, Mrs. Dena Boswell of Durham; two stepsons, Arvis Smith and William (Billy) Smith both of Durham; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Ferrell of Durham; brother, Gerald Langley of Franklin, Tenn.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Clements Funeral Chapel by Rev. H.L. Mickle. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Max Boxwell, Jr., Bobby Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Jr., David Knowles, Paul Scott and Jerry Smith.

HATTIE J. METTS
POLLOCKSVILLE -- Hattie Metts, 83, of 219 Green Hill Street, died Tuesday at Craven Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Metts; her son and daughter, Ivey Metts and Gladys Metts; also four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pollock-Wells and Best Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Buford Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Trenton City Cemetery, Trenton, North Carolina.
Surviving: sons, Sidney Metts of Pollocksville, Franklin "Joe" Metts of Reelsboro, Ray Metts of Reelsboro, Nelson "Nick" Metts of New Bern, Carlton Metts of New Bern, Bruce Metts of New Bern, Gene Metts of Jacksonville; daughters, Hilda Futrell of Chinquapin, Margaret "Pumpkin" Smith of Delco, Faye Heath of Durham; daughter-in-law, Patricia Metts of Stella; sister, Josephine West of Kinston; 37 grandchildren ; 38 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

DWIGHT S. MONK
CHAPEL HILL -- Dwight Shields Monk, 68, died June 10, 1997 at North Carolina Memorial Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Mr. Monk was born in Fort Morgan, CO, and grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, and Graysville, IN.
He had worked at E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company since 1953, serving as a physicist and ballistics supervisor at the Indiana Ordinance Works in Charlestown, IN; as supervisor of Radiological Safety and Health at the Savannah River Plant in Aiken, S.C.; as Survey Engineer, corporate Safety and Fire Protection Division, Wilmington, DE; as Safety and Protection Supervisor, Wilmington, N.C. and as Senior Consultant, Safety and Environmental Management Services, Wilmington, DE.
He was instrumental in founding The Church of the Good Shepherd in Durham, N.C., where he served as Elder and Clerk of Session.
He is survived by his mother, Enid S. Monk, his wife, Ruth S. Monk, his children, Susan, Dwight, Elizabeth and Louise, all of Chapel Hill and by his brothers, Duane Monk of Grand Rapids, MI; and Lester Monk of Phoenix, MD.
The memorial service will be held Thursday, June 12, 1997 at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, followed by a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday in the Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.
