RALEIGH -- Mrs. Glenn Hamrick Moore, 96, of 2511 St. Mary's St., died Wednesday [June 11, 1997].
She served at one time as Executive Secretary for the N.C. Federation of Women's Club and retired in 1985 from Jolly's Jewelers, North Hills, after more than 20 years of service.
A funeral service will be held 2:30 Friday, Hayes Barton Baptist Church.
Burial, will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.
Surviving are her son, C. Durham Moore, Jr. and his wife, Betty of Raleigh; daughter, Margaret Glenn Moore Acker and her husband G. Norman, Jr. of Raleigh; seven grandchildren, Terry Elizabeth Moore-Painter, C. Durham Moore, III, James Auten Moore, G. Norman Acker, III, Mary Glenn Acker Hoge, Carol Acker Hayden, and Anne Acker McNair; thirteen great-grandchildren, Meredith Moore-Painter, Rebecca Moore-Painter, Katie Hayden, Michael Hayden, Matthew Hayden, Karen Hayden, Lauren McNair, Melissa McNair, Steven Acker, Daniel Acker, Elizabeth Acker, Kent Hoge and Bradley Hoge.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hayes-Barton Baptist Church TV Ministry, 1800 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, N.C. 27608 or The James Auton Moore Endowment Fund at Tammy Lynn Foundation, 739 Chappel Dr., Raleigh, N.C. 27606.

MARGARET P. MYATT
OCT. 9, 1915 - JUNE 11, 1997

WILLOW SPRING -- Margaret Privette Myatt, 81, of 8040 Barbour Store Road, died Wednesday [June 11, 1997].
Funeral 2 p.m. Friday at Fellowship Baptist Church.
Burial, church cemetery.
Surviving: daughters, Jerry Smith of Willow Spring and Gloria Briggs of Raleigh; sons, Johnny Ray Myatt of Willow Springs and Ronald Myatt of Greensboro; sisters, Ruby Baker and Cathy Moody, both of Raleigh, Tiny Myatt of Willow Spring and Bobbie Alford of Wendell.
Visitation from 7-9 p.m. today at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.

MARY PENDER

WILSON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Pender, 67, of 7844 N.C. 96 N., Selma, N.C., who died Sunday [June 8, 1997] at Johnston Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Wilson, N.C.
The Rev. W.I. Bowden will officiate and burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Wilson, N.C.
Survivors include a son, Carnell C. Pender of Raleigh; one granddaughter, Ms. Sharon Foye; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Bass of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Margaret Suggs of Farmville, N.C., and Mrs. Gladys Joyner of Selma, N.C.; two brothers, Elbert Suggs and Eddie Suggs of Washington, D.C.; a host of other relatives and friends.
The body may be viewed Friday from 3-9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 211 S. Pender, Wilson, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.

MARGUERITE DAYTON PURNELL

RALEIGH -- Marguerite Dayton Purnell, 75, of 412 Lake Boone Trail, died Wednesday [June 11, 1997].
She retired from N.C. State Government and Norfolk Southern Railroad.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Montlawn Memorial Park.
Surviving are her son, Earl D. "Buddy" Purnell of Raleigh; daughter, Janice Purnell Brooks of Melbourne, Fla.; two sisters, Myrtle Wertz of Pine Knoll Shores, N.C., and Madeline Dayton of Raleigh; and two grandchildren, Jessica Brooks and Matthew Brooks.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, St. Mary's St., 828-4311.

SHIRLEY H. RAMBEAU

FUQUAY-VARINA -- Shirley Kathryn Hairr Rambeau, 62, died Monday, June 9 [1997].
Funeral 2 p.m. today, Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church. Burial, church cemetery.
Surviving: son and daughter-in-law, Charles E., Jr. and Gina Rambeau of Dunn; son, James G. Rambeau of Chalybeate Springs; mother, Alleta Hairr of Sampson County; brother, Mack N. Hairr of Chesapeake, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and John Dale of Sampson County.

FRANCES R. SMITH

GREENVILLE -- Miss Frances Ringgold Smith, 92, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997.
The funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Miss Smith, daughter of the late David S. Smith and Ella Tucker Smith, was a native of Greenville, and lived most of her life here.
She was a graduate of Greenville High School and St. Mary's College.
She received an AB Degree and a Master's Degree in Education from East Carolina Teachers College.
She taught math in the North Carolina Public Schools for 44 years, of which 25 years were in Greenville, at Greenville High School and J.H. Rose High School.
She was a life-long member of Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church where she had served in many capacities.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
She is survived by, five nephews; three nieces, two of whom she assisted in rearing, Virginia Smith Hibbs of Louisville, Ky., Frances Smith Norris of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Education Fund, Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church, 510 S. Washington St., Greenville.

GRACE B. SMITH

DURHAM -- Mrs. Grace Bobbitt Smith, 95, died Monday [June 9, 1997].
She was native of Person County.
Funeral 1 p.m. Friday, June 13, 1997 at Russell Memorial CME Church.

Burial, Glennview Memorial Park.
Surviving: brothers, Eugene Bobbitt, Jr. of East Orange, N.J., Roger Bobbitt of Neward, N.J.; nephew, Jones Henry Bates of Durham.

CAROLE A. STEGMANN

ZEBULON -- Carole Ann Stegmann, 41, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 1997 at her home.
Carole is survived by her husband, Eric; two sons, Jason and Brian of the home; parents, Dorothy and Robert Muller of Raleigh; brother, Wayne Muller of Selma; mother-in-law, Florence Stein of Hewitt, N.J.; nieces and nephews.
Carole will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family will be receiving friends at Family Funeral Care 1201 N. Arendell Ave., Zebulon on Wednesday and Thursday from 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service, Thursday from 7-8 p.m.
Funeral service will be held Friday, June 13, 1997 at the Norman Screws Chapel of Family Funeral Care.
Burial to follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.

Survivors: wife, Jeanette Surcy, Chinquapin; four daughters, Janice Whaley of Richlands, Penny Surcy of Chinquapin, Joyce Vanlandingham of Georgia, Gloria Gosnell of Georgia; two sons, Lenwood Surcy of Chinquapin, Henry Ray Surcy of Holly Ridge; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

JOHN P. TUCK

DURHAM -- Mr. John Percy Tuck, 71, of 1609 Wensley Dr. died Tuesday [June 10, 1997] at his home following an extended illness.
Mr. Tuck was born in Roxboro, the son of the late Charles Franklin Tuck and Levenia Yarborough Tuck.
A resident of Durham, he retired in 1995 from Strawbridge Studios, where he was employed for 25 years.
Mr. Tuck was a member of Grey Stone Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Gene Daniel Tuck; three daughters, Linda T. Herbster of Yardley, PA, Teresa T. Moore of Holly Springs and Denise T. Hollan of Raleigh; step-daughters, Linda Jean Meier of Birmingham, AL, and Gloria Carol Browning and Frances Dolores Daniel, both of Durham; sister, Nannie T. Nunn of Pittsboro; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Grey Stone Baptist Church, Dr. Malbert Smith, Jr., officiating.
Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, grandsons serving as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Strawbridge Studios and members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the building fund of Grey Stone Baptist Church, 2601 Hillsborough Rd., Durham, N.C. 27705.
