RALEIGH -- Mrs. Glenn Hamrick Moore, 96, of 2511 St. Mary's St., died Wednesday [June 11, 1997].
She served at one time as Executive Secretary for the N.C. Federation of Women's Club and retired in 1985 from Jolly's Jewelers, North Hills, after more than 20 years of service.
A funeral service will be held 2:30 Friday, Hayes Barton Baptist Church.
Burial, will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.
Surviving are her son, C. Durham Moore, Jr. and his wife, Betty of Raleigh; daughter, Margaret Glenn Moore Acker and her husband G. Norman, Jr. of Raleigh; seven grandchildren, Terry Elizabeth Moore-Painter, C. Durham Moore, III, James Auten Moore, G. Norman Acker, III, Mary Glenn Acker Hoge, Carol Acker Hayden, and Anne Acker McNair; thirteen great-grandchildren, Meredith Moore-Painter, Rebecca Moore-Painter, Katie Hayden, Michael Hayden, Matthew Hayden, Karen Hayden, Lauren McNair, Melissa McNair, Steven Acker, Daniel Acker, Elizabeth Acker, Kent Hoge and Bradley Hoge.

WILSON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Pender, 67, of 7844 N.C. 96 N., Selma, N.C., who died Sunday [June 8, 1997] at Johnston Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Wilson, N.C.
The Rev. W.I. Bowden will officiate and burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Wilson, N.C.
Survivors include a son, Carnell C. Pender of Raleigh; one granddaughter, Ms. Sharon Foye; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Bass of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Margaret Suggs of Farmville, N.C., and Mrs. Gladys Joyner of Selma, N.C.; two brothers, Elbert Suggs and Eddie Suggs of Washington, D.C.; a host of other relatives and friends.
The body may be viewed Friday from 3-9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 211 S. Pender, Wilson, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.

RALEIGH -- Marguerite Dayton Purnell, 75, of 412 Lake Boone Trail, died Wednesday [June 11, 1997].
She retired from N.C. State Government and Norfolk Southern Railroad.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Montlawn Memorial Park.
Surviving are her son, Earl D. "Buddy" Purnell of Raleigh; daughter, Janice Purnell Brooks of Melbourne, Fla.; two sisters, Myrtle Wertz of Pine Knoll Shores, N.C., and Madeline Dayton of Raleigh; and two grandchildren, Jessica Brooks and Matthew Brooks.

FRANCES R. SMITH
GREENVILLE -- Miss Frances Ringgold Smith, 92, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997.
The funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Miss Smith, daughter of the late David S. Smith and Ella Tucker Smith, was a native of Greenville, and lived most of her life here.
She was a graduate of Greenville High School and St. Mary's College.
She received an AB Degree and a Master's Degree in Education from East Carolina Teachers College.
She taught math in the North Carolina Public Schools for 44 years, of which 25 years were in Greenville, at Greenville High School and J.H. Rose High School.
She was a life-long member of Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church where she had served in many capacities.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
She is survived by, five nephews; three nieces, two of whom she assisted in rearing, Virginia Smith Hibbs of Louisville, Ky., Frances Smith Norris of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday.

ZEBULON -- Carole Ann Stegmann, 41, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 1997 at her home.
Carole is survived by her husband, Eric; two sons, Jason and Brian of the home; parents, Dorothy and Robert Muller of Raleigh; brother, Wayne Muller of Selma; mother-in-law, Florence Stein of Hewitt, N.J.; nieces and nephews.
Carole will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
