DURWOOD "D.B" SURLES

BENSON -- Durwood "D.B." Surles, 86, died Friday [June 13, 1997].
Mr. Surles was a life-long resident of Johnston County.
He was a member and former deacon of Pleasant Hill Christian Church.
He was a retired farmer and surveyor.
His last days were spent at Britthaven of Harnett, after an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Anna Lee Surles, and his son-in-law, Mr. Dan Parrish.
Funeral 3 p.m. Sunday, at West & Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, in Benson.
Rev. Carl Dixon and Rev. Don Williams officiating.
Burial, Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Surviving: daughter, Betty S. Parrish of Benson; son and daughter-in-law, Raeford Lee and Doris Surles of Benson; brothers, Bobby Creech of Benson and Hunter Creech of Savannah, GA; special friend, Virene Young of Benson; grandchildren, Bonita Adams, Robert Surles, Jenny Parrish, Vonda Parrish, and Teresa Wood, all of Benson; great-grandchildren, Jordan Adams, Anna Surles, Jeremy Parrish, Emilee Parrish, and Alex Wood.
Family at the funeral home, 7-9 p.m. Saturday.
Arrangements by West & Dunn Funeral Home, Benson.

BOYD W. TERRELL

RALEIGH -- Boyd Wilson Terrell, 69, of Raleigh, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997.
Mr. Terrell was born in Raleigh, and was a minister.
Surviving are sons Ned, Steve, Donnie, Robert and David, all of Detroit; daughters, Susie Jordan, Phyllis Scott, Marilyn Terrell and Jenette Terrell, all of Detroit; sisters, Evelyn Smith, Susie Williams, Mildred Sanders and Lorine Barbour, all of Raleigh; brothers, Mack Terrell of Philadelphia and Willie Terrell of Atlanta; aunt, Rocellia Barnette of Baltimore, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 16, 1 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home chapel, with Bishop Roosevelt Ashford officiating.
Visiting hours from 7-8 p.m. Sunday, Mitchell Funeral Home, 600 Saint Mary's Street.

SALLY MAE BASS VINSON

RALEIGH -- Sallie Mae Bass Vinson of 305 Garner Road, Apt. 218, died Wednesday [June 11, 1997].
Funeral service, Monday 1 p.m. at Wake Baptist Grove.
Burial, Carolina Biblical Gardens.
Surviving: mother, Orelia Bass Terry of Raleigh; sisters, Ethel Watson of Garner, Mary Ott of Norfolk, VA, and Maggie Rowe of Raleigh; brothers, James Bass Hillside, N.J.
Visitation at the church, 12:30-1 p.m. Monday.
The family will receive friends at 4412 Wilmington Rd.

NETA N. WELLS

PIKEVILLE -- Neta Narron Wells, 84, of the Nahunta community, died Friday night [June 13, 1997].
She was the widow of Mallie Wells.
Funeral, Sunday, 3:30 p.m., Shackleford Funeral Chapel, Fremont.
Interment, Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving, sons, Melvin Wells and Kenneth Wells of Nahunta, Gordon Wells of Williamston; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

ADELLE C. WILSON

DURHAM -- Mrs. Adelle Capps Wilson, 72, of Durham, died Friday.
A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Parker Bartley and Mamie Hinnant Capps.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, at Carr United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Brian Wingo officiating.
Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to Carr United Methodist Church, 107 N. Driver St., Durham, N.C. 27703.

EDWARD ODELL CASHWELL

GARNER -- Edward Odell Cashwell, 64, of 1416 Faye Drive, died in Rex Hospital, Sunday, June 15, 1997.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m., at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph Strickland officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove.
He was a native of Sampson County, and the son of the late Graham and Iula Bass Cashwell.
He was a member of Browns Baptist Church and a retired electrician from N.C. Motor Controls.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Weeks Cashwell of the home; son, Eddie Cashwell of Clayton; daughter, Tracie Cashwell Drive of Louisburg; brother, Ronnie Cashwell and a granddaughter, Meredith Grace Cashwell of Clayton.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, from 7-9 p.m., at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, in Clinton.

RUTH Y. COX

CARY -- Ruth Yarborough Cox, 66, of 308 E. Park St., died Sunday [June 15, 1997], at Rex Hospital.
Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Rogers Memorial Chapel.
Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her husband, Cameron "Bill" Cox of Cary; two sons, Cameron Cox, Jr. of Greensboro, James Cox of LaFayette, LA; four sisters, Willa Holder of Sanford, Frances Venable of Carthage, Hester McKay and Carolyn Dull, both of Cameron; five brothers, Neal Yarborough, Archie Yarborough, and Steve Yarborough, all of Sanford; Malcolm Yarborough of Garner, John Yarborough of Cameron; one grandchild, Cameron Cox, III of Reidsville.
Memorials can be made to the Cary Public Library, 310 S. Academy St., Cary 27511.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday, at the Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

NANCY Q. DAVIS

RALEIGH -- Nancy Quin Davis of Lake Carey, and Raleigh, N.C., passed away on Friday evening, June 13, 1997.
Services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church.
Arrangement by the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.

MAE H. DRIVER

FUQUAY-VARINA -- Mae Hilliard Driver, 76, died Sunday [June 15, 1997].
Graveside service 11 a.m. Tuesday, Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Surviving: son, Oscar Wagoner, Jr. of Fuquay-Varina; one grandchild.
Mrs. Driver was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Driver.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today, Sugg Funeral Home.

ZOIE S. KING

RALEIGH -- Zoie S. King, 83, died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at Rex Convalescent Care Center.
Mrs. King was born in Wake County, and lived her entire life in Raleigh.
She was a longtime member of Fairmont United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her brother, Robert Lee Sanders, and step-sisters, Rosalie Harrison and Bobbi Lancaster, both of Raleigh, May Jordan of Wake Forest, and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. King was predeceased by her husband, Ralph.
Funeral service is Tuesday, June 17, 11 a.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Hickle officiating.
Interment in Montlawn Memorial Park.
Visiting hours Monday, 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 600 Saint Mary's Street, Raleigh.
