BENSON -- Durwood "D.B." Surles, 86, died Friday [June 13, 1997].
Mr. Surles was a life-long resident of Johnston County.
He was a member and former deacon of Pleasant Hill Christian Church.
He was a retired farmer and surveyor.
His last days were spent at Britthaven of Harnett, after an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Anna Lee Surles, and his son-in-law, Mr. Dan Parrish.
Funeral 3 p.m. Sunday, at West & Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, in Benson.

Burial, Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Surviving: daughter, Betty S. Parrish of Benson; son and daughter-in-law, Raeford Lee and Doris Surles of Benson; brothers, Bobby Creech of Benson and Hunter Creech of Savannah, GA; special friend, Virene Young of Benson; grandchildren, Bonita Adams, Robert Surles, Jenny Parrish, Vonda Parrish, and Teresa Wood, all of Benson; great-grandchildren, Jordan Adams, Anna Surles, Jeremy Parrish, Emilee Parrish, and Alex Wood.

RALEIGH -- Boyd Wilson Terrell, 69, of Raleigh, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997.
Mr. Terrell was born in Raleigh, and was a minister.
Surviving are sons Ned, Steve, Donnie, Robert and David, all of Detroit; daughters, Susie Jordan, Phyllis Scott, Marilyn Terrell and Jenette Terrell, all of Detroit; sisters, Evelyn Smith, Susie Williams, Mildred Sanders and Lorine Barbour, all of Raleigh; brothers, Mack Terrell of Philadelphia and Willie Terrell of Atlanta; aunt, Rocellia Barnette of Baltimore, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 16, 1 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home chapel, with Bishop Roosevelt Ashford officiating.

She was the widow of Mallie Wells.

DURHAM -- Mrs. Adelle Capps Wilson, 72, of Durham, died Friday.
A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Parker Bartley and Mamie Hinnant Capps.

Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.

GARNER -- Edward Odell Cashwell, 64, of 1416 Faye Drive, died in Rex Hospital, Sunday, June 15, 1997.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m., at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph Strickland officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove.
He was a native of Sampson County, and the son of the late Graham and Iula Bass Cashwell.
He was a member of Browns Baptist Church and a retired electrician from N.C. Motor Controls.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Weeks Cashwell of the home; son, Eddie Cashwell of Clayton; daughter, Tracie Cashwell Drive of Louisburg; brother, Ronnie Cashwell and a granddaughter, Meredith Grace Cashwell of Clayton.

ZOIE S. KING
RALEIGH -- Zoie S. King, 83, died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at Rex Convalescent Care Center.
Mrs. King was born in Wake County, and lived her entire life in Raleigh.
She was a longtime member of Fairmont United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her brother, Robert Lee Sanders, and step-sisters, Rosalie Harrison and Bobbi Lancaster, both of Raleigh, May Jordan of Wake Forest, and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. King was predeceased by her husband, Ralph.
Funeral service is Tuesday, June 17, 11 a.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Hickle officiating.
Interment in Montlawn Memorial Park.
