Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 1997, at Community Funeral Home Chapel, Beulaville, N.C.
Burial, James Cemetery, Cypress Creek, Wallace.
Surviving: stepmother, Minnie B. Jones of Richland; three sons, Harold Lanier of Greensboro, I.J. Lanier of the home, Farrell Lanier of Rock Hill, S.C.; one sister, Frances Flibotte of Cameron; five brothers, Ray Jones of Kinston, Raymond Jones of Princeton, Ollie Jones of Richlands, Marshall Jones of Durham, Isaac Jones, Jr. of Richlands; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Visitation, 7-9 p.m. Monday at Community Funeral Home, Beulaville, N.C.

PEGGY A. LEONARD

WAKE FOREST -- Peggy Ann Lampert Leonard, 57, formerly of 9724 Fonville Road, died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at Wake Medical Center.
Mrs. Leonard was born in Tazewell County, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan P. Leonard.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, in the Leonard Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by a daughter, Danita L. Sullivan of Wake Forest; a son, James Michael Leonard of Louisburg; sister, Freda Tabor of Youngsville; two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Bright Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. today, Monday.

CHARLIE McGEE

RALEIGH -- Charlie McGee, 83, of 4105 Southall Road, died Saturday, June 14, 1997.
Mr. McGee was born in Johnston County, and was involved in the wholesale produce business all his life, and spent the last years, until retirement, as co-owner of Ennis and McGee Produce Co.
Funeral 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, 1997, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, Knightdale.
Burial, Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh.
Surviving: wife, Bessie McLamb McGee; son, Joseph Edward "Joe" McGee and his wife Linda McGee of Raleigh; grandson, Michael McGee and his wife Helen McGee; granddaughter, Lee Anne McGee; great-grandchildren, Charlie McGee and Zachary McGee; sisters, Letha McGee Patterson of Knightdale, Matilda McGee Williams of Benson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Duke University Medical Center - Department of Psychiatry - Alzheimer's Research Fund,c/o Dr. Ahearn, P.O. Box 3215, Durham, N.C. 27710 or to Garner Advent Christian Church-Building Fund, 1120 Vandora Springs Road, Garner, N.C. 27529.

ANNIE McLEOD

BUIES CREEK -- Mrs. Annie Belle McLeod, 91, died Friday [June 13, 1997].
She was the widow of Levy McLeod, and was preceded in death by a son, Frank McLeod.
Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, at Buies Creek First Baptist Church, by the Rev. Michael Simmons and Rev. John Rogers.
Burial will be in the Buies Creek Cemetery.
Surviving: one daughter, Joyce M. Weaver of Lilesville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Buies Creek First Baptist CHurch, Buies Creek, N.C. 27506.

LINNIE DONALD PERRY, II

COLERAIN -- Linnie Donald Perry, II, 55,of 209 Lazy Hill Road, died Sunday, June 15, 1997, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, 1997, at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, by the Rev. Barbara Chaffee.
The committal service will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain.
Surviving: wife, Tra Jennette Perry of Colerain; daughter, Elizabeth Dow Perry of Raleigh; son, Thomas Armistead Perry of Washington, N.C.; mother, Eloise Burch Perry of Colerain; brothers, Warner B. Perry of Edenton, Michael M. Perry of Colerain.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colerain Rescue Squad, Colerain, N.C. 27924; to Roanoke-Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910 or to Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, 302 South Queen St., Windsor, N.C. 27983.

FRANCES N. POWELL
April 9, 1938 - June 15, 1997

ZEBULON -- Frances Norton Powell, 59, of 121 Tal House Dr., died Sunday [June 15, 1997] at Wake Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and the daughter of the late Louise Davis and J.B. Norton.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 1997, Vandora Springs Freewill Baptist Church, Garner, N.C., with Rev. Jesse Caton officiating.
Burial, Raleigh Memorial Park.
Surviving: husband, Carl Powell; daughter, Connie Jeans of Louisburg and son, Kenneth Powell of Zebulon; brother, Robert Norton of Roswell, N.M.; grandchildren, Krystal and Brittany Jeans.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today, Strickland Funeral Home, Wendell.

MARYLEE HAMILTON RYALS

KNIGHTDALE -- Marylee Hamilton Ryals, 52, of 111 Dianne Street, died Saturday afternoon, June 14, 1997, in her home.
Born July 22, 1944, in Harnett County, Marylee worked for 27 years with Dillon Supply Co., and one year with G.&.W Equipment Co., and served as their parts sales manager.
Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 1997, Green Pines Baptist Church, Hodge Road, Knightdale.
Burial, Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Chalybeate Springs, Harnett County.
Family will receive relatives and friends Monday evening, June 16, 1997, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times, at the home.
Flowers are accepted, but memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 4513 Creedmoor Road, fourth floor, Raleigh, N.C. 27612.

RUBY HIGHT STARLING

RALEIGH -- Ruby Hight Starling, 93, formerly of 3113 Charles B. Root Wynd, Apt. 244, Raleigh, died June 15, [1997], at Rex Convalescent Center, after a brief period of declining health.
Mrs. Starling was born in Franklin County, on March 13, 1904, to the late Ollie O. and Cora Pierce Hight.
She spent her early years in Buies Creek, and was graduated from Buies Creek Academy.
She married the late James Fulton Starling on August 6, 1929, and they spent most of their married life in Lumberton, N.C., where they owned and managed Modern Furniture Company together.
Mrs. Starling was an active member of First Baptist Church in Lumberton, and she participated in many clubs and community organizations, before moving to Independence Village in Raleigh, in 1995.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James F. and Diana Starling of Danville, Va., and by a daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Robert E. and Ann S. Singleton of Raleigh, and five grandchildren, Jeff, Brent and Amanda Starling and Rob and Hollis Singleton.
She is also survived by a granddaughter-in-law, Kim Singleton and a sister-in-law, Juanita Hight of Buies Creek.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 o'clock on Tuesday, June 17, at Meadowbrook Cemetery, in Lumberton, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 602 N. Walnut Street, Lumberton, N.C. 28358.

THELMA C. WHITAKER

DURHAM -- Thelma Virginia Casper Whitaker, 65, of 5960 Brinda Ave., widow of the late Bill S. Whitaker, died Saturday [June 14, 1997].
A native of Hertford County, she is the daughter of the late William John and Thelma Parker Casper.
She has been a resident of Norfolk, Va. for the last 43 years, and was attended Calvary Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three sisters, Willie Marie Evans of Edenton, Edna Thomas of Butner, and Elizabeth Scott of Norfolk; one brother, Linwood John Casper of Durham, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. Dr. Lonnie Graves and the Rev. James Laws will officiate and burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday, at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service and all other times, at the home of her brother, John Casper, 413 N. Hyde Park Ave., and the home of her sister, Edna Thomas, 315 19th St., Butner.

LOIS D. WOMBLE

MONCURE -- Lois Dean Womble, 66, died Saturday [June 14, 1997].
Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, Buckhorn United Methodist Church.
Burial, church cemetery.
Surviving: daughter, Kay Dean Bray and fiance, Fleet R. Spell of Wilmington; daughter, Ruth Dean Jones and husband, Neil S. Jones of Moncure; brothers, Charles Jeffries of Sanford, and Kenneth Jeffries of Moncure; sister, Peggy Carter of Aberdeen; special nephew and family, Jeff, Amy, Jeffrey and Amanda Carter of Sanford.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today, Sugg Funeral Home in Fuquay-Varina, and at other times, at the home of Neil and Ruth Jones.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Buckhorn United Methodist Church cemetery fund.
