DURHAM -- A private graveside service for Dorothy Love Evans, 71, of 1201 N. Duke St., was conducted Monday [June 16, 1997], at Maplewood Cemetery, Dr. Malbert Smith, Jr. officiating.
She is survived by her husband, W. Ralph Evans; one son, Bradford Lee Evans of Chapel Hill; two grandsons; and two brothers, Lester Love of Butner and Richard D. Love of New Bern.

JOHN W. GOLDMAN, JR.
SELMA -- John William Goldman, Jr., 57, died Sunday [June 15, 1997].
He was a powder coat technician at Hi-Tech Fabrications in Raleigh.
He was a member of Selma Masonic Lodge #320 and the Smithfield Moose Lodge.
Funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
Burial will be Thursday morning at 11 a.m., in Gethsemane Memorial Park in Morehead City.
Surviving: wife, Lou Jones Goldman; sons, John Eric Goldman of Selma, Joseph W. Barbee, Jr. and his wife, Dawn of Raleigh; daughter, Cathy Best and husband, Phil of Cape Carteret; his parents, John William and Lillian Reese Goldman, Sr. of Bamberg, SC; brother, Ray Goldman of Augusta, Georgia; sisters, Emmie Hallman of Bamberg, SC, Dotsy Burwell of Durham; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

RALEIGH -- Gary Paul "Homer" Holder, 44, co-owner of Boss-Hawg Parts and More, died Monday [June 16, 1997].
Graveside service 2 p.m. Wednesday, Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving: parents, Pansy and Paul Holder of Raleigh.

GARNER -- James W. Hunter of 7107 Pleasant Point Ct., Alexandria, VA, died Thursday, June 12, 1997, in Alexandria.
Funeral, Wednesday at 1 p.m., at New Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Clayton.
Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Clayton.
Surviving are his wife, Erma of Alexandria, Va.; son, Timothy Hunter of Durham; stepson, Charles Batch, Sr. of Alexandria, VA; grandson, Charles, Jr. of Alexandria, VA; sisters and brothers, LaVerne Campbell of Clayton, Michael Hunter of Raleigh, Annette Bryant of Knightdale, Thomas Hunter of Garner, Deborah Sanders of Zebulon, Hilda Hunter of VA, and Ricky Hunter of Yanceville.

WINDSOR -- Jesse Cotten "J.C." Jacocks, 73, of 1102 Stokes Ave., died Sunday, June 15, 1997 at his river home at Bal Gra.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church by the Rev. Barbara Chaffee.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include, wife, Judith Barnes Jacocksof Windsor; daughter and son-in-law, Judith Annette J. Loftin and Glynn Loftin of Swansboro; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Stevenson Jacocks and Sylvia Newell Jacocks of Williamston, N.C.; grandchildren, William Emmett Ingram, III of Greensboro, Robert Walker Ingram of Raleigh, Sylvia Cotton Jacocks of Williamston, N.C.

WINDSOR -- Jesse Cotten "J.C." Jacocks, 73, of 1102 Stokes Ave., died Sunday, June 15, 1997, at his river home at Bal Gra.
He was a native of Bertie County, and owner of Jacocks Building Supply.
Mr. Jacocks graduated from Lewiston High School and attended East Carolina University.
He was a member of Davie Lodge #39 and St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
He was a former scoutmaster and former member of the Chamber of Commerce and past director of Southern Bank.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, by the Rev. Barbara Chaffee.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

MILDRED BOONE LIVESAY
TARBORO -- Mildred Boone Livesay, 78, died Monday [June 16, 1997].
Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. James United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bob Wallace officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount.
Mrs. Livesay was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Brooke Livesay.
Surviving: daughters, Sherry Livesay and Betty Newberry both of Tarboro, Dena Toffaletti of Durham; son, Phil Livesay of Zionsville, Indiana; nine grandchildren.

CHARLES W. "BILL" McCLUSKEY
GREENSBORO -- Charles William "Bill" McCluskey, 83, formerly of Pleasant Garden Road, died June 16, 1997, at Wesley Long Community Hospital.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel, with interment at Alamance Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Bill was a member of Alamance's Presbyterian Church. .
He was retired after 45 years, with Fisher-Harrison Printing Company.
Bill is survived by daughter Phyliss D. Marshall of Cornella, Ga.; son, Larry D. McCluskey of Garner, N.C.; sister, Esther Gorrell of Greensboro; four grandchildren and special friend Mozelle Shaw.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
ARTHUR H. PRATT
CHAPEL HILL -- Arthur Heritage Pratt, 79, died Monday, June 16, 1997 at Britthaven of Chapel Hill.
He was born on October 11, 1917, in Manchester, CT.
Mr. Pratt was an Army veteran of WWII, during the Italian Occupation and a retired engineer with Kidde of Mebane, N.C.
He was also a member of the University Presbyterian Church in Chapel Hill, where he was an elder and choir member.
Arthur was also a member of the Civitan Club of Chapel Hill.
Mr. Pratt is survived by his wife of 47 years, May Pratt of Chapel Hill; daughter, Betsy Pratt Lopez and husband, Richard of Hillsborough; stepson, Arvid H. Seaburg, III and wife, Joan of Cedar Knolls, N.J.; two brothers, Robert Pratt of Manchester, CT, and Richard Pratt of Windham, CT; two grandchildren, Heather M. Seaburg and Arvid H. Seaburg, IV of Cedar Knolls, N.J.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20, at 1 p.m. at the University Presbyterian Church in Chapel Hill.

STEVEN C. RACKLEY
GOLDSBORO -- Steven Clay Rackley, 43, a lifelong resident of Goldsboro, died Monday, June 16, 1997 at Wake Medical Center from complications resulting from an auto accident on April 6th.
Steve was the son of the late Doris Radford Rackley and Elbert Sutton Rackley of Goldsboro.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Susan Rackley Brinkley and Jim of Raleigh; daughters, Stephanie and Tiffany of Goldsboro; aunts and uncles, Jesse and Deane Rackley of Mt. Olive, Earl and Mary Deane Radford of Durham, Mildred and Cliff Cathey of Tampa, Fl.; nieces and nephews, Sherri Hart of Youngsville, Christie Brinkley, Scott Lee and Jay Brinkley, all of Raleigh; many friends and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at Wayne Memorial Park, Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Tim Smith officiating.
Family members will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m., at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, of Goldsboro.
