Geraline J. Johnson
Geraline Jones Johnson, 54, of Fuquay-Varina died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003.
A funeral service was held Sunday afternoon, Nov. 30, at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Fuquay-Varina. Burial followed in Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Ray Johnson; daughter, Carrie Ann Johnson-Dobbs of Holly Springs; sons, Raymond David Johnson of Fuquay-Varina and Michael Ray Johnson of Morehead City; grandchildren, Anji Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Scarlett Dobbs, Savannah Jade Dobbs and Isabella Dobbs; parents, Joseph David and Della Mae Mills Jones of New Bern; and sisters, Rebecca Humphrey of Cary and Jo Ann Canaday of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The family received friends Saturday afternoon, Nov. 29, at Thomas Funeral Home.
Eugene Elmond Holt
Eugene Elmond Holt, 80, of Apex died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro. A graveside service was held Saturday, Nov. 29, in Martha's Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Brinson officiated.
Mr. Holt is survived by his wife, Marie Briggs Holt; son, Stacy Holt, and daughter, Linda Smith, both of the home; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Friday evening, Nov. 28, at Apex Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Sandra Stammely
Sandra Stammely of Cary passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 at Rex Hospital.
Sandra was born June 15, 1945 in Wilson, the daughter of Lana (Gay) Cone and Paul Jeffrey Cone of Middlesex.
She was preceded in death by her father and brothers, Charles, Donald and Jerry Cone, and a twin sister, Andra Skinner, on Aug. 21.
She is survived by her mother; her loving husband Tom; and daughters, Kimberly Lynn of Fuquay-Varina, Heather, wife of Todd Shearin, Apex, and Melanie Leigh of the home. Also surviving are her loving grandchildren, Kristen Alanna Bridgers, Brooke Christen Shearin and Gage Thomas Shearin, a loving family and a wonderful group of friends. She touched the lives of many people with her compassion, humor and caring manner.
Sandra was retired secretary of Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church after 13 years of devoted service. She was active in Girl Scouts of America and was awarded the Silver Pine Cone Award, the highest award given to a Girl Scout volunteer. She was a Brownie troop leader, an untiring Meal on Wheels volunteer and one of the first Avon representatives in Cary.
Friends were received Tuesday evening, Dec. 2, at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. A funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 3, at Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church in Cary, with a brief gathering of friends and loved ones following the service. Interment was to be at Samaria Baptist Church Cemetery.
Sandra was a loving wife, wonderful mother, adoring grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
Dan Marcus Lane
Dan Marcus Lane, 42, of Garner died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 at his home. He was born in Anderson, S.C., on Feb. 25, 1961, the son of Helen B. Lane and the late Daniel F. Lane.
Mr. Lane was employed at First Union Bank until he was disabled in 1994. He was a member of New Life Wesleyan Church.
Dan had a strong determination to survive the adversities of stroke and heart disease. He was a recipient of a heart transplant that gave him a bonus of life. He spent much of his time helping and encouraging other people. He was a thoughtful and generous person who never considered the alternatives, but pressed forward believing there would be a better day. He frequently told his friends, "Don't put things off. Do it now." He had a strong faith in God and a dedication to honor.
Surviving are his three children, Alexander, Cory and Rebecca, all of Garner. He is survived by his mother, Helen B. Lane of Garner; his sister, Donna L. Sharifyazdi of Raleigh; and his dear friend, Nancy Seate of Goldsboro. He also is survived by his uncles and aunts, Carmen and Nelda Lane of Cary; Joseph and Alice Lane of Holden Beach; Lillian and Wayne Leggette of St. Simons Island, Ga.; and Lamon and Linda Blackburn of Greensboro.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, Dec. 3, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home Chapel in Cary with the Rev. Gary Tesh officiating. The family received visitors Tuesday evening, Dec. 2, at Brown-Wynne. Burial was at Old Zion Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Tabor City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of New Life Wesleyan Church, 2967 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529.
Alice Pleasants Hodges
Alice Pleasants Hodges, 85, of Cary died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003.
Graveside services were held Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 26, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Cary and were led by the Rev. Mark Palmer, pastor of Inwood Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son-in-law, Emmett Wadford of Cary; two grandchildren, Janet Wadford Masouras of Cary and Greg Wadford of Cary; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Wadford of Garner and George Masouras of Cary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lem W. Hodges, and her daughter, Louise B. Wadford.

Clifford Keith Pritchard
Clifford Keith Pritchard, 46, of Morrisville passed away Nov. 18, 2003, after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Cliff was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, nephew, uncle and cousin, and a trusted friend.
Cliff was a member of The Potters Hand Bible Church of Cary, a recently founded church whose membership, since its inception, has dedicated itself to Cliff and his family's well-being. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Pritchard; daughters, Alicia Veldman and husband Cory of South Beloit, Ill., Dana McGrath and husband Doug, Jessica Pritchard and Nicole Ferrise, all of Morrisville; sons, Bo Pritchard, and Michael and David Ferrise, all of Morrisville; one adored granddaughter, Calla Veldman, of South Beloit, Ill.; father and step-mother, Boston and Barbara Pritchard of Albion, Mich.; beloved brother, Jim Pritchard of Rochester Hills, Mich.; precious sisters, Teresa Schoch of Bethesda, Md., Freda Mendez of Galvaston, Texas, and Marsha Eirschele of Plymouth, Mich.; uncles and aunts; nephews and nieces; and numerous cousins. A memorial service was held at Calvary Chapel, 1600 Center St. in Apex, on Monday afternoon, Nov. 24. The family received friends prior to the service.

Brandon Chase Adams
Brandon Chase Adams, 21, died suddenly Nov. 20, 2003. He is survived by his parents, Belinda Parks Adams and John Otha Adams; sister, Kimberly Adams Plourde of Moyock; and brother, Eric John Adams of Raleigh.
The family received friends at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary and at other times at 3710 Yates Mill Pond Road.
The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon, Nov. 22, in the Chapel of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home. Interment followed at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh.

Jeffrey Burton Ermolowich
Jeffrey Burton Ermolowich, 18, died Nov. 17, 2003. Jeff was born March 8, 1985.
Jeff fulfilled a lifelong dream in September when he graduated as a PFC from Marine Corps Boot Camp in Parris Island, S.C., where he was awarded the sharp shooter medal and nominated for the good conduct award. He was a 2003 graduate of Cary Senior High School, where he was an active member of NJROTC.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Becky Ermolowich; his brother, John Ermolowich; Michael Salomone, Wayne and Lois Eidson; Bill and Ronnie Stenson, his grandmother, Olga Ermolowich; Willie and Cathy Ermolowich; his cousins and friends. His father, Michael Ermolowich, preceded him in death.
A family visitation was held at Apex Funeral Home on Thursday evening, Nov. 20. The memorial service was to be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Cary Police Department, Family Support Group Fund, 316 N. Academy St., Cary, NC 27512.
Harold R. Lockwood
Harold R. Lockwood, 77, of Apex died at his home Monday, Nov. 24, 2003 after an extended illness. Mr. Lockwood is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann Quinn Lockwood; sons, Mark Lockwood of Charlotte and Gary Lockwood of Suquamish, Wash.; daughters, Patricia Queen of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Christine Hilt of Apex; four grandsons and one granddaughter; brothers, John Lockwood o Mattapoisett, Mass., and Roy Lockwood of North Attleboro, Mass.; and sister, Dorothy Smith of Walpole, Mass.
There will be a funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 28, 2003 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Apex. The family will receive friends following the service. Inurnment will be at the church columbarium.
