Rose Schroeder Brady
Rose Schroeder Brady, 87, of Apex died Thursday, March 17, 2005. A memorial service will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 100 Lochmere Drive, Cary, Saturday, April 9, at 1 p.m.
She is survived by her sons, Peter Brady and wife, Vicki of Apex and Paul Brady and wife, Linda of Falcon Heights, Minn.; grandchildren, Shawn Brady, Jennifer Collins, Kelly Brady, Gillian O'Shaughnessy and Megan Brady; great-grandchild, Mairin Rose O'Shaughnessy; and her brother, Herman Schroeder.
Memorial contributions may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church's Capital Building Fund, 100 Lochmere Drive, Cary, NC 27511.
Richard Edgar Ford
Richard Edgar Ford, 50, of Cary died Thursday evening, March 31, 2005 at home. Richard was born in Asheville. He received his bachelor of arts degree in business from N.C. State University in 1978. He was a senior auditor for the N.C. Department of Transportation with 25 years of service.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Friday, April 8, at 2 p.m. in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St. in Apex. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard B. Ford, in 2003. He is survived by his mother, MayJo DeNardo Gray and stepfather, Virgil of Bradenton, Fla. Also surviving are two sisters, Lucy F. Segerson and husband Edward of Liberty and Celia A. Prince of Decatur, Ga., and a stepsister, Zita R. Gray of New Orleans, La.
Richard had a unique sense of humor, a generous heart and a razor-sharp wit. His infectious smile and his friendly affections will be sadly missed by the large number of friends who loved him very much.
Richard's family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
Marie Copeland Cotton Waters
Marie Copeland Cotton Waters went home to be with the Lord March 23, 2005. She was born on Sept. 26, 1915, and grew up in Pittsboro, daughter of Lee and Bana Copeland. She attended Appalachian State University and retired from Southern Bell Telephone after 37 years of service. She resided in Cary for more than 50 years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Cotton Haley of Siler City and Pamela Cotton Payne of Cary; Sons-in-law, Ed Haley and Jim Payne; a sister, Virginia Neal of Sanford; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, one of whom is Barbara King, who has been a sacrificial caregiver along with Marie's best friend and companion, Cynthia Martinez, and her husband, Juan, and their devoted, loving children.
She is most remembered for her generous and loving spirit, always sharing with others.

A memorial celebration service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, in the Chapel of First Baptist Church, 218 S. Academy St., Cary.
Joseph R. Dickerson Jr.
Our beloved brother, Joseph "Joe" Raleigh Dickerson Jr., 69, died unexpectedly March 11, 2005 in Cary.
Family visitation was held Tuesday evening, March 15, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh.
Joe was born Feb. 17, 1936 to Joseph Raleigh Dickerson and Alice J. Dickerson. He had been a longtime resident of Cary and graduated from Cary High School in 1955. Joe served a four-year stateside tour of duty with the U.S. Army and a three-year assignment in Japan as an electronics technician with a U.S. government contractor. He was employed by AFL Network Services as field supervisor.
Joe is survived by his wife, Gayle Huggins Dickerson; three sisters, Ann Riggsbee, Madalyn Traylor and Martha Dickerson, all of Cary; three nieces, Lee Ann R. Zacharski of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Dondra T. Maney of Westerville, Ohio, and Diane T. Bame and her sons, Traylor, Bennet and Carter, of Wilmington.
Caroline Elizabeth Anderson
Caroline Elizabeth, loving daughter of Michael and Kendra (nee Privett) Anderson; beloved sister of Dallin and Ella Anderson; caring granddaughter of Kenneth and Rebecca Privett, and David and Marta Anderson; dear great-granddaughter of Kirt and Lillie Fryman, Ruby and the late Carl Privett, Dorothy and the late Milton Anderson, and Kirk and Elizabeth Kidman, died March 16, 2005 at age 6 months.
Services were held Saturday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8250 Cornell Road in Cincinnati, Ohio. Interment followed at Battle Grove Cemetery in Cynthiana, Ky.
Family visitation was held Friday evening, March 18, at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home in Loveland, Ohio.
The family suggested that memorials be made to the family, c/o any Fifth Third Bank, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Patsy Lou Baker Adams
Mrs. Patsy Lou Baker Adams, 64, of Oak Island and formerly of Carthage, went to her heavenly home Thursday, March 18, 2005, at Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport.
Mrs. Adams was a retired registered nurse. She retired from Rex Hospital in Raleigh before moving to Oak Island.
A graveside service was held Monday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage. The Rev. Robert Bundy officiated.
She is survived by her husband, R.M "Ron" Adams III of Oak Island; her sons, R.M. "John" Adams IV and wife Chris of Charlotte, Tom Adams and wife Sheila of Crossnore, and Charles Adams and wife Donna of Cary; a brother, John "Buddy" Baker of Carthage; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded into heaven by her parents, John Baker and Elizabeth B. Williams.
The family received friends Sunday evening, March 20, at the Baker home in Carthage.

Eugene Thomas Brooks
Eugene Thomas Brooks, 90, of Cary died Saturday evening, March 19, 2005, at the Rex Nursing Care Center in Apex. Gene, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Nov. 16, 1914. He was the only child of the late Edward Russell Brooks and Katherine Prosser Brooks.
Gene spent his early years in Carnegie, Pa. He graduated from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, with a degree in mechanical engineering. Upon graduating, he joined the Deming Corporation in Salem, Ohio. He later joined Gast Manufacturing in Benton Harbor, Mich. When he retired 26 years ago, he held the position of chief engineer and head of the engineering department of that company. Upon retiring, he and his wife moved to North Carolina, where they very much enjoyed the warmer climate.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Margaret Brooks of Cary; two sons, Edward Brooks and wife Sandi of Michigan City, Ind., and Dr. Thomas Brooks and wife Pat of Cary; and seven grandchildren, Kelley Attias of NSW, Australia, Todd Brooks and wife Anna of Stevensville, Mich., Andrew Brooks and wife Soraya of Hicksville, N.Y., Tom Brooks and wife Julie of Holly Springs, Christopher Brooks and wife Amy of Cary, Michael Brooks of Fuquay-Varina and Haley Brooks of Michigan City, Ind. He is also survived by three great-granddaughters, with another due in August, and five great-grandsons.
Gene was always a hard-working, energetic man. He earned his college degree while working full time, raising his sons, always coaching their many sports teams, and serving as an elder in his church. He could fix anything his family managed to break. Gene loved golf, woodworking, gardening and fishing with his grandchildren. He was a lifelong Presbyterian and attended Greenwood Forest Baptist Church in Cary until his health failed.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Rex Nursing Care of Apex for their loving, professional care. The family is also thankful for his long, well-lived life. We will miss him.
A family memorial service is planned for a later date. Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Jane Truelove York
Dr. Jane Truelove York, 62, of Apex died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at home. She was born Dec. 26, 1942 to the late Pauline Holt Truelove and Gerald Woodrow Truelove.
After a long career in public education in North Carolina and Virginia, Jane retired as superintendent of schools in Isle of Wight County, Va. She returned to North Carolina in 2002.
Jane is survived by her husband, Ronald H. York, and stepson, Michael S. York; and her brother, Gerald M. Truelove and his wife, Elizabeth S. Truelove, and their children, Jeffrey M. Truelove and Sara E. Truelove and her husband, Daniel Salazar.
She is also survived by a large loving family of many aunts, uncles and cousins. Special love and thanks to LaVerne T. Seagroves and Harold E. Truelove for their love and support during Jane's long illness.
The family received visitors Tuesday evening, March 22, at the Apex Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 23, at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Apex.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ebenezer UMC Building Fund.
