Nell B. Robinson

Mrs. Nell B. Robinson, 79, passed away Monday, March 14, 2005, at WakeMed Cary Hospital. She was born Feb. 15, 1926 in Mocksville to Jesse Coe Boger and Rena Jeanette Hepler.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Cary and was active in the Ellis-Bland Sunday school class and the Esther Circle. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Denver Robinson; son, Doug Robinson and wife, Cindy, of Cary; daughters, Jean Houck and husband, Steve, of Summerfield, Phyllis Hartness and husband, Rod, of Canton, and Becky Midyette and husband, Mark, of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral was held Wednesday, March 16, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Raleigh Memorial Park.
The family received friends Tuesday evening at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary.

Rose Mazzarelli Rose Mazzarelli, 79, of Cary died Friday, March 11, 2005. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1926, to John and Lena Tassiello. Rose recently moved to Cary, having grown up in Brooklyn, then lived in New Jersey from 1991 until 2004.
A funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Apex. The family received friends on Monday evening, with a prayer service at 8:30 p.m., at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island, N.Y.
Rose is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, August M. Mazzarelli Sr.; son, August Mazzarelli Jr. of Manorville, N.Y.; daughter, Gina Walberg and fiancé, Steven W. Base, of Cary; brother, Joseph Tassiello and wife, Mary Anne, of Staten Island, N.Y.; sister, Fran Corallo and husband, Al, of Phoenix, Ariz.; special friend, Lucia Minarik; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Joseph Raleigh Dickerson Jr.
Joseph "Joe" Raleigh Dickerson Jr., 69, died March 11, 2005 in Cary. Family visitation was held Tuesday evening, March 15, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh.
Joe was born Feb. 17, 1936 to Joseph Raleigh Dickerson and Alice J. Dickerson. He was a longtime resident of Cary and graduated from Cary High School in 1955. Joe served a four-year stateside tour of duty with the U.S. Army and a three-year assignment in Japan as an electronics technician with a U.S. government contractor. He was employed by AFL Network Services as field supervisor.
Joe is survived by his wife, Gayle Huggins Dickerson, and three sisters, Ann Riggsbee, Dalyn Traylor and Martha Dickerson, all of Cary.
Maude H. 'Bug' Alexander
Aug. 24, 1916 – March 9, 2005
Maude Hortense "Bug" Alexander, 88, of Cary, died Wednesday afternoon, March 9, 2005.
Maude was the daughter of the late Willie Berry and Maude Perry Privette and was preceded in death by her husbands, Grover Lee Baker and Elias A. Alexander. She was a native of Franklin County.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Shuford and the Rev. Jeff Black officiating. Burial followed in the Privette family cemetery.
Maude is survived by her daughter, Joanne Baker Lail of Cary; and her sisters, Jean Hagwood of Pilot, Betty Williams of Raleigh and Joyce Mullins of Youngsville.
Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
Marie Louise Rasmussen
Marie Louise Rasmussen, 84, of Luverne, Minn., died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Center in Luverne, Minn. She was born March 10, 1920 in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Antonio and Anna (DiPallo) Castrovilla. She attended high school in New York and attended Brooklyn College.
Marie married Donald Rasmussen on March 20, 1942 in Brooklyn. After their marriage, the couple lived in various cities. Marie worked as an inspector of jet engines at General Electric. The couple moved to Luverne, Minn., in 2004.
Marie is survived by her husband, Donald Rasmussen, Luverne, Minn.; five children and their spouses, Donna Rasmussen of Cary, Karen and George Lipphardt of Tucson, Ariz., Sandra and Frank Dowie of Luverne, Minn., Peter and Penny Rasmussen of Heber Springs, Ark., and Fred and Teresa Rasmussen of Cato, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Ann (John) Wick of Pompano Beach, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant daughter, Barbara Jean; her brother, Joseph Castrovilla; and a sister, Elizabeth Acquista. A time of fellowship was held at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne, Minn. Memorial services were held March 12 at The Assembly of God Church in Luverne, Minn.
Timothy Warren Stevens
Timothy Warren Stevens, 37, of Apex died on March 1, 2005. He resided in Jefferson County, Mo.
He is survived by his fiancée, Lisa Adam; father, Matthew Stevens; sister, Deborah S. Neely and husband, Chuck; brother, Kenneth Stevens; nephews, Levi Neely and Joseph Stevens; and niece, Cammie Neely.
Friends and family were invited to a memorial service at Cary Alliance Church, 555 S.W. Maynard Road, Cary on Wednesday, March 9.

Donn Walter Jackson
Donn Walter Jackson, 84, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2005, in Durham.
Mr. Jackson was born Jan. 28, 1921, to the late Floyd Earl and Helen Winterose Jackson in St. Louis, Mo. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1939 and then attended Rolla before entering the service in 1942. He served in Naval Aviation during WWII where he was stationed in Lakehurst, N.J., and served in the "lighter than air" blimp corps in South America. He spent many years of his life in Arnold, Mo., and the last 10 years in North Carolina.
His sense of humor and big heart will be missed by many, especially his family, who loved him dearly.
Surviving are two daughters, Gay Stahl of O'Fallon, Mo., and Laura Bajerski of Cary; son, William "Bill" Jackson of Pasadena, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, March 10, at Kriegshauser South Mortuary. Interment with full military honors will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Kriegshauser South Mortuary in St. Louis and Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary are in charge of arrangements.
Clarence Hagan Bentley
Clarence Hagan Bentley of Cary died Feb. 16, 2005. He was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1943 and entered the U.S. Marine Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He remained in the Reserves and retired as a colonel. He is a former resident of Kinston and was employed by Eli Lilly & Company.
He was predeceased by wife, Jean H. Bentley and son, Joseph H. Bentley. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, the former Colleen Dent Topham, of 2219 Fernglen Place, Cary, a son, John Bentley of Hamilton, Ala., daughter, Jean Motley, of Stuart, Fla., and three step-children, including Jane T. Davis and husband, Charles, of 4105 Briarhurst Way, Apex.
A memorial service was held at Glenaire Retirement Community on Feb. 21. He was a member of Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to Glenaire Foundation, 4000 Glenaire Circle Cary, NC 27511.
Lennie Mann Goodwin
Lennie Mann Goodwin, 80, of Apex died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Rex Healthcare Nursing Home after an extended illness. Born Feb. 3, 1925 in Wake County to the late Commie and Lettie Bell Goodwin, Lennie served in the Navy during World War II. He was a retired farmer who loved raising dogs and hunting.
His funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Olive Chapel Baptist Church in Apex, with burial following in the church cemetery with military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie U. Goodwin; sons, Lennie Goodwin Jr. and wife, Jan of Orlando, Fla., and Carl T. Goodwin and wife, Becky of Apex; sister, Nancy Hatley and husband, George of Apex; four granddaughters, Ginger, Jennifer, Darla of Orlando and Hollie of Apex; and four great-grandchildren.
His sister, Marie Drake, and brother, Willard Goodwin, preceded him in death.
The family received friends Friday evening, Feb. 25, at Apex Funeral Home.
