Edgar Ray Lorenz, 86, of Cary, NC died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Cary, NC. Entombment followed at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh.

Marianna Cowman Chenoweth
Marianna Cowman Chenoweth, 92, passed away on Monday morning, Dec. 10, 2007. Born on Nov. 14, 1915 in Monticello, Indiana; she was the daughter of the late Frederick E. Bowman and Elizabeth Harlacher Bowman, of Monticello, IN.
She married John “Jack” Chenoweth on Sept. 25, 1942 and had two children: Elizabeth Ann Jones, of Cary and John “Jack” Chenoweth Jr., of Philadelphia, PA. Chenoweth was an active member at the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello, a former member of the Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa, the Fortnightly Club, and the Thursday Afternoon Bridge Club.
Shewas preceded in death by her husband Jack, her brother Fred Bowman Jr., and her sisters Eleanor Bowman and Emma Downey. She is survived by her youngest sister Frances “Babe” Taylor, two children, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello, IN. Private graveside services will be held at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First Presbyterian Church – 104 N. Illinois Street – Monticello, IN 47960.

Maria Adilia Brizuela Canales
Maria Adilia Brizuela Canales, 70 of Apex, died Dec. 11, 2007 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pasaquina, El Salvador where she will be taken back for burial.
She was the proud mother of 7 children: José Amilcar Brizuela, Maria Delsa Brizuela, José Santos Brizuela, Telma M. Mata, Roy A. Brizuela, José Naxis Brizuela, and Richard A. Brizuela.
She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Roger A., Amilcar A., Tiffany, and Elton Brizuela; Stefany, Elsa A., Israel, and Bassna Rivas; Elizabeth D., Keven A., Tony F., Suzette, Nahomy, Abner, Mirta Y., Ashley, Richard A., Kayri M., Ricardo A., Navis D., Jassmin, Brayan, Blancadilia, Karen, and Xaviar Brizuela.
She is survived by her cherished great grandchild, Greg A. Najera.
The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at Apex Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Canton Pedras Blancas, Pasaquina, El Salvador.

Paul Edward Keicher
Paul Edward Keicher, 85, of Cary, NC, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007 at Emerald Ridge Rehab and Care Center. No services are scheduled. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road in Arden is assisting the family.
Gary Lee Edwards
Gary Lee Edwards, 42, of 2713 Holland Rd, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007. He was born in Wake County on Dec. 3, 1965 to Earl Edwards and Gail Thrower Edwards Klein. He was employed with Murphy Geometrics as a surveyor. He loved to play his guitar and gospel music. Edwards also enjoyed riding on his Harley.
He is survived by his mother Gail Klein and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at North Cary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Montlawn Memorial Park.
Roy Lee Jones
Roy Lee "Butterball" Jones, 76, of Hampstead, formerly of Duncan, died Nov. 30, 2007 in the Cape Fear Hospital of Wilmington. Jones was a Harnett County native. He was born on Aug. 29, 1931 to Tommy Jones and Emma Baker Jones. He was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation where he was a heavy equipment operator. A funeral was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, in the Duncan Baptist Church. The service was conducted by Rev. Charlie Baker.
Jones is survived by his wife Ann Jones; daughters Ginger Jones, Dale Jones and Deborah Tucker and her husband Steve of Youngsville; his son Hurl Hilliard and his wife Priscilla of Holly Springs; his brother Thomas Jones and his wife Geneva of Duncan; and nine grandchildren. Jones is also survived by a very special mother-in-law Frances Brown and many friends.
The family received friends 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex; and at all other times at the home of Hurl and Pricilla Hilliard, 7850 Hwy 42 West, Holly Springs.

Pauline H. Johnson
Pauline H. Johnson, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 15, at Wake-Med Cary. Born Jan. 13, 1921 in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late D.N. and Zora Creech Holt. She was the widow of Willard B. Johnson Jr. She lived her entire adult life in Selma before moving to Jordon Oaks Retirement Community in Cary to be closer to her children.
She was an Honorary Life Member of the NC General Federation of Women`s Clubs and member of Selma Woman`s Club for over 60 years. “Peen” was a Girl Scout leader for 15 years and a member of Edgerton Memorial Methodist Church. She will always be remembered for her zest for life, her love and devotion to her friends and family, her love of Kennels Beach, and the challenge of a good bridge game.
Johnson is survived by her two daughters - Paula J. Ward and her husband Ed of Cary and Willa Bea Coates and her husband Mike of Willow Springs; grandchildren Amy Ward Baker, Beth Ward Bowen and Mary Michael Coates; great grandchildren Scott, Holt, Grace Bowen and Abigail Baker; and brother W.K “Bill” Holt of Pine Level.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, at Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield. The family will receive friends at the gravesite following the service.

Carl J. Ferrell
Carl J. Ferrell, 86, went to be with His Heavenly Father on Friday. Born in Chatham County he was the son of Poin Dexter and Annie Lewter Ferrell. He spent 86 wonderful years raising and loving his family, listening to and supporting his two daughters, four granddaughters, four great grandsons and a future great granddaughter. It is his laughter, joy and faith that all who knew him will hold close to their hearts.
A graduate of Green Hope High he also attended Wingate College lettering in both basketball and baseball. He captained the Green Hope basketball team that won the State Championship in 1940.
He was a member of the Masons for 63 years.
He was married to Elizabeth Ellis from Lowes’ Grove for 50 years. They were blessed with two daughters and the love of four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife; brothers Clem Ferrell and Raymond Ferrell; and sisters Beulah Thompson and Lila Wilson.
In 2004 he married Frances Batchelor. He is survived by his wife, Frances B.Ferrel l; brother Bruce C. Ferrell; daughters Marie Ferrell d’Ambrosi and Don of Apex; Rebecca (Becky) Ferrell Goodwin and Carl of Apex and four granddaughters: Wendy Just and Steve of Cary, Ashley and Nathan Masters of Asheville; Dr. Heather d’Ambrosi and Jason Pippin of Cary and Hollie and Clint Allen of Apex.
The family received friends Aept. 16 at the Apex Funeral Home and at other times at the home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Apex Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the ICU unit at Rex Hospital for their care during his stay there.
