Julius Lee Richardson Sr.
Julius Lee Richardson Sr, 63, of Apex went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. Richardson was born on Dec. 7, 1944 in Macon, Mississippi to Willie James and Carrie Pittman Richardson. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9 at 11 a.m. in Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex conducted by Elder Arthur Reid of True Holiness Saints Center, Conway, AR and Pastor Jeff Taylor of Freedom Church of Apex. Burial will follow in the Apex Cemetery.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy Richardson and children Danielle Mahomes of Beaufort, SC, Julius Lee Richardson Jr. and his wife Robin of Apex, and Willine Reid and her husband Authur of Conway, AR. He is also survived by his sister Doris Taylor of St. Louis, MO and grandchildren Tiffanne, Jasmine, Brittany and Zachary Mahomes, Ebony West, Darah Willey and ShaLisa Richardson. In addition, he had 10 sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Richardson is preceded in death by his six brothers and four sisters.

Erik Igor Jones
Erik Igor Jones, 21, of Cary, died July 11, 2008 at Duke University Medical Center. Jones was born in Tikhoretsk, Russia on June 26, 1987.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 14, 2008 in the Chapel of Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex. Reverend Tim Batten will conduct the service.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
Jones is survived by his parents, Gary and Anne Jones of Cary, his sister Janna Jones and her boyfriend Tim Stewart of Raleigh, sister Sveta Kelchner and her husband David of Newport News, VA, sister Elena Jones of Cary; mother Lubov Voronkova, brothers Alexay Prihodko, brother Sasha Prihodko, all of Tikhoretsk, Russia. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Sharlee Kubota of Holly Springs. Jones is preceded in death by his father, Alexander Prihodko of Tikhoretsk.
Odell Marshall Craver
Odell Marshall “Buster” Craver, 84, died June 18, 2008, at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point after an illness of two months. He had been in declining health for the past four years.
He was born in Midway Township, N.C. on May 12, 1924, son of Emory Lewis and Hethie Berrier Craver. Odell’s mother died the day he was born.
At the age of 18 months, he moved to Lexington with his father and stepmother, Minnie Berrier Craver. He was educated in the Lexington City Schools and was a member of the Lexington High School football team. From 1943 to 1946, he served in the U.S. Army, European Theater, World War II. After the war, he worked with his father in his general building contractor business. Later he started his own masonry contractor business in the High Point area when he moved his family to northeast Davidson County. He later became a building inspector for the City of High Point until he retired in 1986. He was an avid gardener and loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of First United Methodist of High Point. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, and by three brothers: Belvin O. Craver, Ray Hollin Craver, and Roby Allen Craver.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Martha Cornelia Berrier Craver, daughter Marshall Anne Kivett and her husband William Jr., of High Point, son Joseph Bryce Craver and his wife Wanda of Winston-Salem, daughter Carol Lewis Brown and her husband Bobby of Claremont, sister Vada Josephine Craver Brown of Lexington, grandson William L. Kivett III and his wife Stacy of Apex, and granddaughter Sarah Anne Kivett of High Point.
Funeral service will be Saturday, June 21 at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Davidson Funeral Home, Main Street, Lexington, NC by the Rev. Chris Fitzgerald and the Rev. Fran Moran. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, 512 North Main Street, High Point, NC 27260, or to the charity of choice. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Paul Dwight Kelly
Paul Dwight Kelly, 49, of Apex, died Tuesday March 25, 2008. He was owner and operator of Kelly Restoration Company in Apex. A service celebrating his life and home going will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday March 28th in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Amanda Atkin of Greenwood Forrest Baptist Church will conduct the service. He is survived by his mother Audrey N. Kelly, sister Julia Faye Kelly, brother Douglas Kelly and his wife Laura, nephew Dylan Christopher Kelly and nephew Dawson Dinnis Kelly, all of Apex.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Friday at the Apex Funeral Home, preceding the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Life Experiences, Inc., 260 Towerview Ct., Morrisville, NC 27513.
Gerald Wayne Howard
Gerald Wayne Howard, 65, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at WakeMed Cary.
Howard, who was born in Wake County, was a digital technician with Bell Telephone Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served as a volunteer with Apex Fire Department for 27 years. He loved farming, gardening and sharing. He was a very active member of Bell’s Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Brenda Howard, his daughter Joyce Truelove and her husband Anthony, his son Robert Howard and his wife Jennifer, his son Chris Howard and his wife Cynthni, his mother Vergie Howard of Pittsboro, and his grandchildren Michelle Howell, Nicole Truelove, Alyssa Howard, Jackson Howard, Troy Howard and his great-grandchildren Hannah Truelove, Jordan Howell and Skylar Howell.
He was predeceased by his father Percy Howard. Also surviving are his sister Nancy Saitta, his sister Jeneverette Reeves and her husband Buddy, his brother Larry Howard and his wife Jan along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.
Funeral service is Tuesday, March 25 at 11 a.m. at Bell’s Baptist Church with Rev Rick Washington and Rev Jack Casey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., on Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Bell’s Baptist Church.
Annie Bledsoe Ruth
Annie Bledsoe Ruth, 81, of Apex, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 in Parkview Retirement Center of Sanford. She was born in Johnston County on Nov. 6, 1926 to Lattie Bledsoe and Linda Champion Bledsoe.
She is survived by her children Carolyn (TJ) Green of Houston TX, Dennis (Becky) Cobb of Clayton, JoAnne Stella of Apex and Renee Avery of Four Oaks, NC. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and siblings (Vernon) Norris of Clayton, Mary Jackson of Smithfield, Betty Jo Dalton (Jerry) of Clayton, Bobby Bledsoe (Rochelle) of Clayton and Phil Bledsoe of Clayton.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, April 5 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6 in the Chapel of Apex Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Cary.
Yvonne Kraft Aselle
Yvonne Kraft Aselle of Cary died in her home Monday, Feb. 18, 2008.
Aselle grew up in Seneca Falls, NY the eldest of 4 children. She graduated cum laude from St. John Fisher College with a BS in accounting and an MBA from the University of Southern California and a CPA designation.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary. The family will receive friends following the service.
Survivors include brother David F. Kraft and his wife Susan of Seneca Falls, NY, brother Michael J. Kraft and his wife Rhonda of Myrtle, MS, sister Charmaine Murray and her husband Robert of Philadelphia, PA, and several aunts, nieces, nephews and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Aselle was active in many civic and charity organizations, having served on the board of directors of the Cary and Morrisville Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Women Business Owners, Greater Raleigh Chapter. She has also been an instructor for the Wake Technical Community College’s Small Business Seminar Series and is a Quick Books instructor.
The SBA recognized her in 1998 as North Carolina Business Advocate of the year. In 2004 the Triangle Business Journal honored her as one of the Top 25 Women In Business. She was a past president of the Cary Page Rotary Club and served as treasurer for Rotary District 7710 which supports the 42 Rotary Clubs in the Triangle. She more recently was a member of the board of the Carying Place and was active with the Women’s Center of Wake County assisting with the recent Batchelor Auction Ball.
Aselle loved beach music and spent many long weekends at Ocean Drive Beach for various shag events. She loved collecting art, traveling and reading.
Aselle will be deeply missed by her many friends and family. She was full of life and love, embracing everything and everyone she encountered with enthusiasm. Her imprint on the lives of her friends and family will live on and she will be greatly missed.

Haywood S. Hatfield
Haywood S. Hatfield, 82, of 5417 Ten-Ten Rd, Apex, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008. A Wake County native, Mr. Hatfield was born on Sept. 3, 1925 to Leon Smith Hatfield and Nannie Pierce Hatfield.
He is survived by his wife Frances E. Hatfield, step son Everette Perry and his wife Barbara of Duncan, step daughter Frances McCall and her husband Frank of Angier, sisters Oleta Winchell of Raleigh, sister Nell Cochran and her husband Roy Jr. of Apex, five step grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex and at other times at the home.
A funeral service conducted by Pastor Chuck Woodruff and Rev. Jonas Harley will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1 in the chapel of Apex Funeral Home. Burial will be in Catawba Springs Christian Church Cemetery.
