Annette Miracola
Annette Miracola, 92, of 6590 Tryon Rd., Cary, went home to be with the Lord on Monday Feb. 4, 2008. She was a native of Brooklyn, NY, and a retired seamstress.
A funeral mass to celebrate her life and home going will be held on Saturday Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary. Monsignor Tim O’Connor will conduct the mass. Entombment will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Church Columbarium at a later date.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emanuel, her daughter Phyllis, and her great grandson Nicholas.
She is survived by her son Joseph E. Miracola and his wife Nina of Cary, his grandson Joseph P. Miracola and his wife Francesca of Apex, his granddaughter Victoria A. Lawrence and her husband David of Apex; and great grandchildren Anthony, Dominic, and Christina.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday Feb. 8 at the Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy.55) in Apex. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 804 High House Rd., Cary, NC 27513, or to the charity of your choice.
Louis Calvin Smith
Louis Calvin Smith, 79, of Fairview Rd, died Jan. 31, 2008 at Wake Med Cary. Smith was an active member in his church and numerous civic clubs and community activities. He was a real estate broker.
He is survived by his wife Martha Ruth Mann Smith, his daughter Marlou Smith Bacon and her husband Edward Jr. of Apex, sister Martha Clement and her husband John of Apex, sister Rebecca Hatcher and her husband Sidney of Avon Park, FL, sister Sarah McLaurin and her husband Charles of Apex, and grandchildren Kyle Bacon and Alexander Bacon. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Smith has joined his parents Early C. and Blonza H. Smith, and his brother Earl (Buddy) Smith in Heaven.
A funeral service was held Feb. 4 in Apex Baptist Church. The family receive friends at the church and burial followed in the Apex Cemetery.

Grace Spencer Stephens
Grace Spencer Stephens, 88, of Apex, died Sunday, March 16, 2008. Stephens was born May 15, 1919 to George W. Coats and Martha Spencer Coates in Newton, N.J.
She is survived by her son Joseph Collins and his wife Sheila of Nashville, her daughter Suezzane Buechel of Rockaway, N.J., grandson Mark Collins of Holly Springs, granddaughter Tracy Collins of Lehaina, HI, great-grandson Hunter Collins, niece Pam Gagnon and nephew George S Coats.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex, NC. The family will receive friends following the service. Inurnment will be private.
Michael Seamus Siegl
Michael Seamus Siegl, loving and beloved son of Adelaide and Christopher Siegl, brother of Brendan and Kevin Siegl died Monda, March 24, 2008 at UNC Hospital.
Siegl, a graduate of Enloe High School and Wake Tech Community College passed away after a six-week struggle to regain his health. He was an active member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church youth group, Search participant and, most recently a participant in the post-Katrina efforts in New Orleans with the Jesuit Volunteer Corp.
Siegl was an Eagle Scout (Troop 316) and an assistant scout leader for National Jamboree Troop 1637. He was also a member of Pack 250 in Silver Spring MD, Pack 316, Troop 209 and Troop 316, all in Apex.
He was a long-term employee of the Food Lion on Laura Duncan RD in Apex. His grandfathers Theodor Siegl and Robert Moran and his uncle Michael Maria Siegl preceded Michael in death. His grandmothers, numerous aunts and uncles and cousins survive him.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Apex on Saturday March 29 at 11 AM. The family will receive at a reception following the Mass.

Donald Andrew Edwards Sr.
Donald Andrew Edwards Sr. died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at age 92 in Fuquay-Varina at his daughter’s home after a brief illness.
Born in Norwich, NY in 1915, Edwards was an accomplished musician by his early teens and played trumpet in many dance bands. He was a 1937 graduate of Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, where he was president of the student body, and taught business arts for four years at Potsdam High School just prior to WWII.
Edwards met his wife, the former Mary Lula Lloyd of Montgomery, AL, in 1946 while serving in the Army Medical Corps. They made their home in Plattsburgh, NY where he was a New York State Supreme Court stenographer. For several years after his retirement he and his wife resided in Birmingham, AL, and he returned to Plattsburgh after her death in 1990.
In 2002 he moved to Woodland Terrace Retirement Community in Cary near his daughter, Ellen, where he made many close friends. Edwards enjoyed music all his life, playing trumpet, piano and guitar, often for community or church events. He was known for his pleasant personality and for his honesty and meticulousness in his work.
He could often be seen playing and listening to music and his ability to instantly transpose music was a delight to friends and family. He is survived by his children, Ellen Edwards Kennedy (Harold) of Fuquay-Varina, Donald Andrew Edwards Jr. (Gayle) of Elberta and Montgomery, AL, and Louise Edwards Sowa (Tom) of Anniston, AL and his grandchildren Laurel Kennedy Emigh, Katharine Salter Edwards, John Matthew Edwards, Louise Kennedy Emery, and Ellen Rosemary Sowa, and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery, AL with internment to follow at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. at Woodland Terrace Retirement Community in Cary.
Delores Vance Babb
Delores Vance Babb, 74, loving mother and grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2008 in the home of her son in Raleigh, following a long and courageous battle against cancer. She was born Oct. 17, 1933 in Harnett County, daughter of the late Raeford Lee Vance and Thelma Thomas Vance.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Harold Bedford Babb, retiree with the NC Department of Motor Vehicles, License and Theft Bureau and brother Larry Lee Vance of Raleigh. Babb is survived by her son Jeffrey L. Babb and his wife Carla of Raleigh, daughter Dianne Babb and her husband Richard of Wake Forest, daughter Deborah B. Sauter and her husband Bruce of Greenville, daughter Pamela B. Moreau of Greenville, brother Wilfred H. Vance and his wife Katherine of Charlotte, brother Warren E. Vance of Cary, brother Ronald E. Vance and his wife Darcelle of Wilson, sister Yvonne V. Kelly and her husband Donald Ray of Summerville, SC, and six grandchildren - Payton and Whitney Sauter, Matthew, Sydney and Nicholas Babb and Adam Moreau.
Babb was a graduate of Apex High School and retired as a Quality Control Inspector with the George C. Moore Company in Edenton after 30 years of service. She was a former member of Olive Chapel Baptist Church and has been an active member of Edenton Baptist Church and the "Laura Harrell Sunday School Class" since her family moved to Edenton in 1966. Delores was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Edward G. Bond, Post 40 for the past 32 years. Her entire life has been dedicated to humble Christian service and the passing on of her faith in Jesus Christ to her family and those around her. She was known to frequently share a container of her famous "banana pudding" and roses from her personal rose garden with others in the community during times of need.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, at Apex Funeral Home on 550 W. Williams St. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. in the chapel at Apex Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Dorman and Rev. Chad Whitley of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fuquay-Varina, officiating. Graveside service and interment will immediately follow at Olive Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 600 New Hill Olive Chapel Road, Apex, NC.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at Edenton Baptist Church, Edenton, with Pastor David B. Brooks officiating. In lieu of flowers for this ceremony, memorial contributions may be made to Edenton Baptist Church, 200 S. Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
A special thank you to Hospice of Wake County, their home health aides, nurses and social workers for their loving help and compassionate Christian care as they ministered to Delores during her final days. Edwarda Catherine Schulze
Edwarda Catherine Schulze, 96, of Apex, went to be with her Lord on March 26, 2008.
Schulze is survived by her son Eugene S. Schulze and his wife Eileen of Wappingers Falls, NY, son Arthur W. Schulze and his wife Patricia of Yankton, SD., and grandchildren Eugene J. Schulze of Apex, Christopher J. Schulze of Peekskill, NY, Kenneth J. Schulze of Fishkill, NY, Kathleen Navola of Charlotte, Joel Kim of Honolulu, HI, Jeff Kim of Reno, NV, Wanda Schulze of New Haven, CT, and Carrie Nelson of Honolulu, HI. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
Schulze joins in Heaven her husband of 69 years, Eugene J. Schulze, and her son Robert A. Schulze.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 6 from 2 - 5 p.m. at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex.
A funeral mass will be held on 11:00 am, Monday, April 7 at St. Andrew The Apostle Catholic Church, 3008 Old Raleigh Rd, Apex.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the church columbarium.

Paul Edmond Bouché
Paul Edmond Bouché passed away peacefully in his home in Raleigh, NC, on Jan. 28, 2008, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s. Bouché was born Dec. 6, 1934 in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from South Bend High School in 1953 and then served in the US Army for 2 years. Paul graduated in 1959 with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Tri-State College, in Angola, IN.
Paul started with IBM in Kingston, NY in 1959 upon graduating college and worked in several IBM locations throughout NY. In 1978, he transferred with IBM to RTP in Raleigh. In 1967, Paul received an Outstanding Contribution Award for a computer program that he developed. Paul retired from IBM in May 1990 after 31 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Grace Cumming Bouché of Raleigh, son Jon Bouché and his wife Julie of Raleigh, son Andrew Bouché of Raleigh, and his daughter Judy Bouché of Washington, DC. Other survivors include his twin brother Ernest Bouché and his wife Marilou of Valparaiso IN, along with grandchildren Brandon, Phillip, Mathew and Valerie, along with many nieces and nephews.
Bouché was predeceased in death by his daughter Nicole Bouché in Aug. 2002, along with his parents Ernest & Anne Bouché, who were originally from France before settling in South Bend, IN, and his sister, Colette Konkol of Wisconsin.
The family would like to thank Paul’s caregivers, Donna Sousa and Mary Kamdtho, for their wonderful and caring support during his illness, along with Hospice of Wake County.
