Jeanine Marie Henry
Jeanine Marie (Fiocca) Henry died peacefully at home on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008. Henry was born in Cleveland, OH on Oct. 9, 1941 to Guisseppe and Faye Fiocca. For 10 years, she was the volunteer bulletin editor for Holy Infant Catholic Church in Durham.
Her beautiful warm, welcoming smile will be forever etched in the memories of her family, relatives and friends. All who knew her remember how she put other's needs before her own. She was a truly caring person.
Henry leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Raymond Leo Henry, whom she married on Oct. 13, 1962. She is survived by her mother Faye Fiocca. She isi also the cherished mother of Joseph D. Henry, Annette M. (Henry) McCracken and her husband Jeff, Kathleen A. (Henry) Gronwall and her husband Marc and Russell A. Henry. Henry is the beloved grandmother to Joshua, John, Andrew, and Aimee McCracken, Alissa, Sarah, and Megan Gronwall, and Dino Henry. She is the sister of Victoria (Fiocca) Jewel and her husband Dennis.
She joins in Heaven her father Guisseppe Fiocca and brother Dino Fiocca.
The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.
A mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 18, 2008 in St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, Strongsville, OH. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland, OH.
Lorraine Adelaide Pitts
Lorraine Adelaide Pitts, 84, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers, went peacefully to be with the Lord, Jan. 18, 2008 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, she grew up in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Stone. After her marriage in 1944, she resided in Knoxville, TN until 1991, when she moved to Apex.
In addition to her parents, her brothers Kenneth Stone and James Stone, sister Illa Mae Boike, and daughter-in-law Jane Godbehere Pitts also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, George S. Pitts Jr., her son George S. Pitts III and his wife Valerie Renee of Bluff City, TN, her son Michael Pitts and his wife Ruth of Smithfield, VA, her daughter Kathilyn P. Sharp of Apex and grandchildren Leigh Herber, John David Pitts, Anne Pitts, Kelli Sharp and Jeffrey Sharp along with her seven nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at Apex United Methodist Church, 100 S. Hughes St., Apex, NC.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Rex Rehabilitation of Apex, especially Hall 300, for all their love and care of Lorraine.

Kristen Clarissa Hunter
Kristen Clarissa Hunter, 19, of Holly Springs, formerly of New York, when to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on Dec. 27, 2007.
Hunter was born and attended school on Long Island, NY. She received many awards for her achievements while in school and in the community. Upon moving to North Carolina, she was a student at Leesville High School.
When in her presence, one could feel the love of Jesus through her welcoming smile and radiant face. Friends, church members, teachers, nurses, caregivers, and therapists who were in contact with her felt blessed by her warm spirit. A very social child, she loved church, music and most of all her mother, who lovingly cared for her throughout her life.
While in New York, she attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Rockville Centre. Upon moving to Holly Springs she visited several churches in the community with her mother.
Kristen Hunter was a social butterfly. She was very active in the community enjoying picnicking, TV shows, participation in adaptive swim, going to the mall, and having play dates and respite outings. Through the "Make a Wish" organization she was the recipient of a trip to Disney World in Orlando, FL. There she enjoyed meeting the Disney characters and the mayor. She especially enjoyed the airplane trip that took her there.
She is survived by her mother Cynthia Hunter, her sister Jennifer Wood of GA, her brother Aaron Copeland of NY, her nephew Adam I. Wood, her grandmother Rebecca Holliday of New York, her godmother Audrey Davis of NY, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex.
There will be a Celebration of Kristen's Life beginning at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Apex Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Cemetery.
Louise Davis Hagood
Louise Davis Hagood has ended her long journey with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born and grew up on Hull Street Road in Chesterfield County, Virginia, where she attended Manchester High School, Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church and worked for the Life Insurance Company of Virginia before moving to Florida in 1945.
She was a long time resident of Miami Springs and Miami Lakes, Florida until she moved to North Carolina in 2002 to live near her daughter, where she passed away on Friday Jan. 11, 2008.
Louise was the eldest daughter of Arthur L. and Irene Koch Davis. She was predeceased by her high school sweetheart and husband James W. (1983) and her brother Bernard W. Davis and sister Nettie Graves of Richmond, Va. She is survived by her four children James W. Jr. (Patty) of Florida, Richard A. (Laurie) of Florida, Becki Hagood of North Carolina and Shirley Otten (Don) of Oregon; grandsons James C. Hagood, Brett J. Hagood, Christopher D. Otten, Corey J. Otten and Andrew S. Hagood, great grandchildren Timothy Hagood, Shannon Hagood and Windley Paige Hagood, daughter-in-laws Chris Gregory and Gloria B. Hagood, and sister Shirley Graham (Jim) of Powhatan, Virginia.
Billy Knox Hartness
Billy Knox Hartness, 80, of 10018 Chapel Hill Rd., died Tuesday Oct. 14, 2008 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Hinton Hartness in October of 2003. He is survived by one daughter, Bonnie H. Mason and her husband Al of Raleigh.
A service celebrating his life and home going will be held at graveside in Raleigh Memorial Park, Hwy 70 in Raleigh at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18. Rev. Randy Umberger will conduct the service.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., (Hwy 55) in Apex.
Kristian Tyler Marceno
Kristian "Kris" Tyler Marceno, 15, beloved son of Bobbi Jo and Joe Marceno, died at home on Nov. 2, 2008.
Marceno was born on May 20, 1993 in Charlotte. In 1996 he moved with his family to Raleigh, where he attended Weatherstone Elementary, Wiley Elementary and Ligon Middle School. Currently Marceno was a sophomore at Enloe High School where he took all AG classes and sang in the Honors Chorus.
Marceno was multi-talented, and extremely bright. He was fluent in Spanish, and qualified for the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP). Kris swam with the YMCA of the Triangle (YOTA) for seven years and was ranked 5th and 7th in the state for breast stroke and butterfly. He was also involved with the YMCA Indian Guide Program. Beginning in the 2nd grade Marceno became interested in acting and became passionate about the theatre community.
Marceno loved to act, sing and entertain people both on and off the stage and sang the National Anthem for the Durham Bulls, and at the NC State Fair. Kris was a treasured cast member of Theatre in the Park’s “A Christmas Carol” for three years. He was seen on many area stages including RLT’s “Honk, ” “Cyrano de Bergerac” at Playmakers Reperatory Company UNC-CH, and productions at the Opera Company of North Carolina.
Marceno also charmed audiences as the lead in Ligon Middle School’s Production of “Oliver.” Marceno was involved with STAS and the Kids on Broadway program at North Carolina Theatre, most recently performing in their production of “Whistle Down the Wind.” He was a much loved member of the Capital Ambassadors with Performance Edge and Stagedoor Manor in the Catskills, NY. Marceno volunteered with the STAR drama class, an acting class for special needs kids and was a valuable member of the Kids Unlimited Talent Agency family.
Marceno enjoyed making his friends laugh with funny faces, and had a lasting and loving effect on everyone he knew. Marceno was beautiful from the inside out and never met a stranger. He was a boy with a huge heart, beautiful smile and indelible spirit and will never be forgotten.
Survivors include his parents, Joe and Bobbi Joe Marceno; siblings Brittani, Joseph and Camden; paternal grandmother, Mary Marceno; maternal grandparents, Sherri Corna, Metcho Corna and wife, Diane; maternal great-grandmother, Doris Scribner; uncles, Beau and Mitch Corna and Vincent Marceno; aunt, Dawn Marceno and many special friends and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary. Burial will follow at Wake Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the funeral home.

Ruby Elizabeth Cheng
Ruby Elizabeth Cheng was born in Cary on March 31, 1933 where she lived when she met her husband, Jimmy Cheng during Christmas, 1949.
Their first meeting was love at first sight at a Chinese restaurant. They eloped Jan. 13, 1952 just outside the border in a small town in South Carolina.
They moved from North Carolina to New York City by bus with one trunk and only one suitcase. Cheng spent the next 42 years in the New York City area raising three children, most of the time alone, while Jimmy worked as a seaman.
Cheng passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 at 12:45 pm. She is preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her three children and their families: Archie and Denise Cheng and children Michael, Timothy and Stephen of Floral Park, NY; Paula and Gary Meder and children Daniel and Danae of OKC, OK; and Donald and Cindi Cheng and children Chris and Catie of St. Johns, FL as well as two great-grandchildren: Raegan Meder and Kadin El Bakkouri.
Graveside services are Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008 at 10 a.m. in Montlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Raleigh directed by Apex Funeral Home.
