A memorial service for Derek Wilfred Duffield, 40, of Chapel Hill, will be held Sunday June 29, 2008 at noon at the Forest Theatre, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill off of Country Club Road via Boundary Street.

Mary Carolyn Markham
Mary Carolyn Markham, 82, of Garner, died Friday June 16 at home. She was born in Wake County on Feb. 8, 1924 to Excell Markham Sr. and Leona Patterson. She was a retired secretary. She will be truly missed by her love ones.
Markham is survived by sister Edith Markham of Greenville, SC, sister Inez Poe of Apex, sister Zelota Williams of Raleigh, brother Robert Wade Markham and his wife Lois of High Point, and brother Thomas Markham of Columbia, SC.
She is preceded in death and will join in heaven her parents Excell Sr and Leona Markham, and brothers Excell Jr, James Arichie and Baswell Herderson.
The Family will be having a private memorial on Monday June 23 at 2 p.m. At Apex Funeral Home, 550 W Williams St (Hwy 55), in Apex.
She will be laid to rest at Swift Creek Baptist Church in Raleigh. You may give your condolences to Swift Creek Baptist Church.
Patricia Allabach Brumfield
Patricia Allabach Brumfield, 48, of Raleigh, passed away on Sunday, June 15. She was born March 2, 1960 in New York City.
Brumfield is survived by her mother Kathleen Ann Snowdon of Cary, her father Charles W. Allabach of Raleigh, her sister Christine Allabach Westbrook of Lancaster, Penn., and also her former husband Jesse Brumfield of Wilmington.
She was a graduate of Cary High School and North Carolina State University. She was a lovely, fun-loving woman with a remarkable passion for cooking. She was loved by her family and everyone who had an opportunity to know her.
A memorial service will be held at Cary Presbyterian Church, 614 Griffis Street, Cary on Sunday, June 22 at 7 p.m. If desired, contributions may be made in her memory to The Healing Place, 1251 Goode Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.
Rayma Wright Wade
Rayma Wright Wade, 70, of 501 Sorrell St., died Sunday, June 22 at Mayview Convalescent Center of Raleigh. Wade was born in Keyser, WV on Dec. 3, 1937 to Raymond W. Wright and Elsie Marie Dawson.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex. There will be a memorial service held at 8 p.m. in the chapel.
She is survived by her husband Roger Wade, her daughter Robin Wade Russell and her husband Andy of Morrisville, her son John Wade and his wife Rebecca of Cary, his sister Ann W. Berry and her husband Jim of Frankford, Del. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins including cousin Judie Meiers of Frankford, Del. and niece Deborah Kesecker of Front Row, VA.

James Douglas Mayfield
James Douglas Mayfield Jr. was welcomed home to the Lord on Saturday, June 28.
Mayfield, affectionately known as "Doug, " was born in Queens, NY on Jan. 11, 1967 to James Douglas Sr. and Joyce Mayfield. He is survived by his wife Edna Marie, his daughter Melissa Joy, hi; son James Douglas III, his parents James and Joyce, his grandmother Mildred Cromer, and numerous family and beloved friends.
The celebration of Mayfield's life will take place on Friday, July 4 from 6-8 pm at Apex Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5 at Calvary Chapel, Apex

Vann B. Goodwin
Vann B. Goodwin, 30, of 2312 Fleming Rd., Fuquay-Varina, died Tuesday July 8th at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh from complications of an auto accident. He loved the outdoors and was an avid four-wheel rider. He had a very friendly heart that many people will certainly miss.
A service celebrating his life and home going will be held on Saturday July 12 at 11 a.m. in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC. Burial will be in the Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Cary.
Surviving are his mother, Vickie R. Goodwin of Chapel Hill, and his father, Larry Steve Goodwin of Fuquay-Varina. Also surviving is a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. His family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday July 11 at the Apex Funeral Home, and other times at his home in Fuquay-Varina.

Mabel Vaughan Riggan
Mable V. Rigga, 106, died Friday, July 04 at Cary Health and Rehab. She was born Aug. 3, 1901 in Vaughan, NC (Warren County) to Walter and Valerie (Floyd) Vaughan.
She is survived by daughters Jean Matthews of Cary, daughter Mary Thomas of Raleigh, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and sister Mildred Stewart of Hickory.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Cary.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Cary.
Steven Gregory Ochs
SSG Steven Gregory Ochs, 32, of Fuquay Varina died Saturday, July 12 at Duke University Medical Center. He was born in Long Beach, CA on Nov. 12, 1975.
Ochs entered the Army 1994. He conducted basic training then AIT at Fort Bliss, TX as a 14S Avenger Crewman. He attended Basic Airborne School in 1995, and then was assigned to the 3-4 ADAR, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg. After a break in service Ochs reentered service and was assigned to A/1-4 ADA, 1st Armored Division, Wackerhiem Germany in 2000. He deployed in 2003 as part of OIF. His next assignment was with 1-62 ADA, 25th INF Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. He deployed with 1-62 in support of OEF. Following his assignment in Hawaii, SSG Ochs returned to Fort Bragg and 3-4 ADAR. He would deploy again to Iraq as part of Bravo Battery. SSG Ochs final assignment was with E/3-4 ADAR, where he served as an Avenger section sergeant.
Ochs' awards and decorations include: the Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal (2OLC), the National Defense Service Medal (w/star), Iraqi Campaign Medal the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global war on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Army Service Ribbon over Seas Service Ribbon, Basic Parachutist badge, and the Combat Action Badge.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa, and his daughter Annelise. He is also survived by parents Klaus and Joanne Ochs, grandmother Annelise Ochs, grandfather W. S. Smith, his brother Brian, his sister Stacy, his brother-in-law Cary, his sister-in-law Kim, his aunt April Eppolito, nephew Brandon and nieces Joey, Heather and Alycia.
The family will receive friends 3-7 p.m. Thursday, July 17 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex.
A celebration of Steve Ochs' life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 18 in the Wood Chapel on Ft. Bragg with military honors.

Barry L. Senecal
Barry L. Senecal died peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at his home in Cary.
He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Myrna; his four children and their spouses, Sandy and Brooks Liles of Florida, Scott and Jean Senecal of Ohio, Suzie and Randy Murphy of NC and Stuart and Dina Senecal of NC; and his nine grandchildren, Ted, Brad, Adam, John, Samantha, Hannah, Maggie, Savannah and Brandon. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Senecal proudly served his country with the Navy in the Korean War. He retired from IBM after 30 years, was very active in the Boy Scouts, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Barry/Dad/Grandpa will be forever loved and greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial mass will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 804 High House Road in Cary at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 25. A light luncheon will follow.
