Steven George Berberian, 51, died Thursday, Aug. 14. He was born in Silver Spring, MD on May 16, 1957 to George and Ann Berberian.
He is survived by his wife, Camille, son Cole, daughter Jennifer, daughter Holly, and grandchildren Chase, Mason, Brooklyn and Brayden.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Aug. 17 at Cary Presbyterian Church, 614 Griffis Street, Cary.

Eleanor Mae Glaser
Eleanor Mae Glaser, 70, of Cary, died on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Rex Hospital
Glaeser was born to Irvin and Cassie Richardson Rockwood on Aug. 14, 1937 in Foxboro, MA. She worked with Transworld Radio for more than 35 years. She was married to Rich Glaeser for 30 years.
She is survived by husband Rich Glaseser, brother Robert Rockwood of Maine, brother Irvin Rockwood and his wife Nancy of CT, brother Tommy Rockwood of MA and sister Virginia Cory of IL.
Glaser is predeceased by brother Dick Rockwood and sister Beverly Rockwood.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday, June 23 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55) in Apex.
A Funeral Service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at Colonial Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Wake Memorial Park, Cary.

Francesco "Frank" Caponegro
Francesco "Frank" Caponegro, 86, of Cary, NC died Tuesday, July 8 at WakeMed after a brief illness. Born Feb. 9, 1922 in the "Little Italy" section of New York City of Rocco and Maria Caponegro, immigrants from Calabria, Italy.
He enrolled in City College of New York as a student in Chemical Engineering. His studies were put on hold during three years of service in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he graduated from the Polytechnic Institute of New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a life member of the Tau Beta Pi chemical engineering honor society and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
He worked in the field of petroleum engineering for several oil companies and retired from the IRS as a petroleum auditing engineer in 1987.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Virginia and his four children: Mary Lee (and John) Viehe of Cary, Laura Anne Caponegro of Wichita, KS, Frank (and Judy) Caponegro of Mandeville, LA, and Virginia (and Tom) Kuepper of New Carlisle, OH. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister Felicia Lavalla of Bellevue, WA.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Apex Funeral Home at 550 Williams Street, Apex, NC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Apex, NC at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11.
Special thanks go out to the nursing staff at WakeMed and to Drs. Bruce, Daw, Sachar, and Oliverrio for their compassionate care during the last stages of Frank's illness.

Joanne Melinda Johnson
Joanne Melinda Herndon Johnson, 66, of Cary, died Saturday, June 21 in Wake Medical Center Cary. She was born in Wake County on June 5, 1942 to William Thad Herndon and Annabell Nance. Johnson retired from Duke Medical Center in 2004 after 44 years of service as an Insurance Claims Specialist in the Private Diagnostic Center.
She is survived by her husband Louis Johnson, her mother Annabell Fryar of Spring Arbor, her sister Claudia Clayton of Apex, her sister Mary Lou Breedlove of New Hill, her stepdaughter Pam Mihovch and her husband CC of Wanchese, her stepdaughter Susan Johnson of Winter Haven, FL, grandson Brent Hymes, granddaughter Ashley Hymes, several nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Kathy Whitfield.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex.
There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25 in the Chapel of Apex Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roberts Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Pendleton, NC at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 25. The funeral service will be conducted Rev. Dr. Steve Barker.

Barbara Baughman
Barbara Baughman, 82, died June 27. She was born in Buffalo, NY on Dec. 29, 1925 to the late Paul V. Brower and Treva Pauline Kessler Brower. Baughman was a graduate of Purdue University. She and her husband, Earl, lived in Chapel Hill for 30 years while he taught at the University of North Carolina. After retirement, they moved to Cary where they have lived for 15 years.
Baughman is survived by her husband of 62 years, Emmett Earl Baughman, daughter Gretchen Ann Baughman of Chapel Hill, daugther Elizabeth Baughman Florio and her husband Peter Michael Florio of Rye, NY, brother Dr. Robert Brower of San Manuel, and two grandchildren: Katherine and Alex Florio of NY.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, June 30 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary.

Zoie Oliver Foster
Zoie Oliver Foster passed away July 15 at Duke Hospital in Durham. Foster was born in Fuquay-Varina, daughter of James and Clyda Oliver. She resided in Goldsboro, Cary and Apex.
Foster was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and was an active member of the Republican Women's Club. She worked but more importantly raised and loved her three children, five grandchildren and so much looked forward to seeing her soon to be born grandson.
Foster is survived by her husband, Frank Foster, her daughter Vicki Barefoot and her husband Terry of Cary, her son Greg Foster and his wife Vicki of Goldsboro, and her son Jeffrey Foster and his wife Melissa of Charlotte. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jeremy Barefoot, Adam Barefoot, Ashley Foster, Brian Foster and Zachary Foster.
She left behind her beloved sisters, Billie Joyce Aiken, Mary Dutton and Hazel Wilson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Powell and brother, Luther Oliver.
Foster will be remembered as a devoted daughter, loving wife and cherished grandmother and good friend to many. She was the best mother imaginable.
Foster greatly enjoyed her family and friends. She was so proud of all of her grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. She never knew a stranger and touched everyone she met with her warm and generous spirit.
Foster will be truly missed by all whose life she's touched.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, July 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew The Apostle Catholic Church, 3008 Old Raleigh Rd, Apex, NC 27502.
Visitation is Friday, July 18 from 6-8 p.m. at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex.

Ruth Leonard Wilson
Ruth Leonard Wilson, 83, of Raleigh, when to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 19. She was born on July 24, 1924 to James Robert and Etta Stallings Leonard in Red Bud, NC. She was a long-time member of Salem Baptist Church, Apex. She was Past Matron and a member of Cary Chapter #366 O.E.S.
Wilson was employed with Hudson Belk for 15 years and CP&L; for five years.
She is survived by her daughter Marcia Stokley and her husband Richard of Raleigh, grandchildren Zachary W. Simmons, James R. Stokley, and Kimberly A. Stokley, and numerous cousins. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, in the Jesse O. Wilson, Sr. Family and her many brothers and sisters in the Order of the Eastern Star.
Wilson joins in Heaven her husband, George Robert Wilson, who died in 1997 and her daughter Ruth Leonard W. Simmons.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. following the visitation.
A private Entombment will be on Wednesday at Raleigh Memorial Park.
