Fuquay-Varina - Daniel Myers Williams left this world Monday, January 5th, and left a huge hole in many hearts. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC. Family will receive friends after the service.
His 25 years with us were not enough, but the impact he made with his smile, his kindness and his amazing art will be with us forever. He is survived by his father, J. Myers Williams; and his sisters, Melody Williams, Elaina Williams, and Rachel Cameron. He grew up in Fuquay-Varina, treasured by his beloved “Granny Dear” and “Grand Bud”, Willie and Carter Williams; and his aunt; uncle; and cousin, Catherine, John and Ann Tucker. He also leaves behind his great uncle, Benjamin Keaton; and his mother, Connie Cameron. For the last ten years, he was a loving part of the blended Williams/Sullivan family which included step mom, Colleen; brothers, Ryan, Tim, and Matt; sisters, Katie and Megan; siblings in law, Sophia, Claudia, Emily, and Adam; and many nieces and nephews who loved to play with “Uncle Dan”. He is also survived by the love of his life, Gloria Crystal, and the many friends he has accumulated through the years. He attended Lincoln Heights elementary, Fuquay Middle, Fuquay HS and graduated from Apex HS in 2007, where he wrestled and began to perfect his incredible artistic abilities. These past few years he has become one of the most respected tattoo artists of the area, and has literally “left his mark” on thousands of people by helping them create a personal piece of artwork that will be with them forever.
Whether you loved him as a family member, friend, classmate, or client….. we will all treasure the personal memories we have of him and be thankful for the time we shared with him. Thank you for whatever joy you brought to his life and what you will do to help keep his memory alive.
Bobbie Lou Howell

Fuquay-Varina – Bobbie Lou Howell, age 85, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015. She will lie in state between 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home 401 N Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1621 Broad St., Fuquay-Varina, NC.
Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband Norman Howell; daughters, Barbara Carroll and Brenda Capps; sons, Lemual, Allen, Mickey and Jerome Howell; and a number of brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Bennie Howell and Danny Howell and wife, Charlene of Apex; brother, Wiley Honeycutt of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Elizabeth McKinney and husband Johnnie of Fuquay-Varina; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Lucille Wiseley Fletcher

Fuquay-Varina, NC - Lucille Wiseley Fletcher, 94, died January 18, 2015, after months of declining health. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Sherwood Memorial Park, 1250 E. Main Street, Salem, VA.
Born in Missouri in 1920, Lucille grew up in Holdenville, OK, with her sister Wilma and her parents, Curtis and Mary Wiseley.
After attending Holdenville Business College, Lucille enrolled in the Wesley Hospital School of Nursing and received her nursing degree in 1942. She then was commissioned a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. She met her future husband Bill (C.W. Fletcher) while stationed in Texas. When Bill returned from the European theater of war, they were married in October, 1945, in Seattle, Washington.
Lucille and Bill lived in Knoxville, TN; Stevenson, Al; Scottdale, PA; and Roanoke, VA as Bill pursued his career in the flooring industry. Lucille was a homemaker and returned to nursing when her children were in college.
She moved to Fuquay-Varina in the late 1990s to be close to her family. She enjoyed doing needlepoint and playing bridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill who died in 1986; her son, James Curtis who died in 1987; and her sister, Wilma Raines.
Lucille is survived by her daughter, Margot and son-in-law, Rob Christensen, Cary; daughter-in-law, Marilyn V. Fletcher, Cary; grandson, Geoffrey Charles Fletcher and wife, Amanda Trail Fletcher, Apex; and great-granddaughter, Adeline Rose Fletcher, Apex. She also is survived by a nephew, Harold D. Kemp of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
The family would like to thank her loving and dedicated caregivers, Doris Strickland, Mary Bracey and Linda Chilcoat, for the wonderful care given her over the past years. They family also thanks the staff of Windsor Point Continuing Care Retirement Community, especially those in the health center, for the professional and kind service and care provided to Lucille.

Frances Ashworth Senter
July 26, 1926 - December 1, 2015
Fuquay-Varina - Frances Ashworth Senter, 89, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 402 N. Main Street, Fuquay-Varina with the Reverend Anne Ahl officiating. Interment will follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Frances was born in Fuquay Springs, NC to the late Cornelia Emma Buchanan and Rufus Saunders Ashworth. She graduated from Fuquay Springs High School and Hardbarger's College when it was located on Hillsborough Street. Frances married Jack Everett Senter on August 24, 1950 at the Fuquay Springs United Methodist Church. They moved to Macon, Georgia where Jack attended Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer while Frances worked at Warner Robbins Air Force Base and at the law school. Jack and Frances returned to Fuquay in 1952 opening Jack's first law office where Frances was secretary. Frances was very active in school, church, civic groups, the Fuquay-Varina Woman's Club and Fuquay Springs Questers serving in numerous leadership positions and winning many awards. In 2009 Frances co-chaired the Fuquay-Varina Centennial Commission and out of that, the Fuquay-Varina Centennial Museum was organized. Capital Area Preservation presented Frances with the Anthemion Award for Historic Preservation in 2006. That same year, she was named Fuquay-Varina Citizen of the Year. Nothing made Frances any happier than spending her summers at White Lake with her family and working at "The Store" (Ashworth's) during Christmas.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Senter was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Everett Senter; siblings, Tom Ashworth, Evelyn Ashworth Smith, Charles Ashworth and son in law, Jimmy N. Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Jack Milton Senter and wife, Gail; daughters, Kim Senter Johnson, Fran Senter Baggs and husband, Jim, Amy Senter Pope and husband, Damon; sister, Mollie Ashworth Stephenson; brothers W. D. "Skinny" Ashworth, Max Ashworth and wife, Betty, Ralph Ashworth and wife, Daphne and Jimmy Ashworth and wife, Ida; grandchildren, Brett Senter and wife, Summer, Will Senter and wife, Melissa, Scott Johnson and wife, Amber, Adam Johnson, Jamie Baggs, Sydney Pope, Everett Pope. Ten great-grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina and other times at the Senter home, 621 East Academy Street, Fuquay-Varina.

Kenneth Earle Marcotte

Fuquay-Varina - Kenneth Earle Marcotte, age 96, died on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the VA Medical Center, Durham, NC. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Karsmarski and husband, Richard, Bonnie Moore, and Beverly Lamelin; grandchildren, Tracie Johnson, Courtney Gile, Kimberly Jolly, Katie Shook, Kayle Weaver; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Lily, Tessa, Michael, Harper, Hunter, Landon, Ashlynn, Ethan, Julia, Nora; and many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was a WWII D-Day Veteran in the United States Army.
He will greatly be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Billy E. Parnell

Fuquay-Varina - Billy E. Parnell, age 81, died Saturday, January 31, 2015, surrounded by his family, after a long illness. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, 401 N. Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Montlawn Memorial Park.
Billy is survived by his wife, Betty H. Parnell; sons Gary Parnell and Dawn Williams of Knightdale, NC, and Gregory T. Parnell of Atlanta GA; two sisters Janet Langston of Micro NC, and Judy Worley and husband Danny of Pine Level NC; and brother Jerry Parnell and wife Jeanie of Panama City FL.
