Barry J. Stolz
Funeral services for Barry J. Stolz, 42, Fargo, were held on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at First Lutheran Church, Enderlin. Reverend Leon Zavadil officiated. Mr. Stolz died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Barry J. Stolz, son of Al and Gertrude (Lutz) Stolz was born on October 12, 1961 in Oakes. He attended Bismarck and Enderlin Schools, graduating from Enderlin High School.
On July 27, 2001, he married
Julie Torbenson in Pelican Rapids, Minn. worked for the City of Enderlin and at Tri-County Lanes in Enderlin. He was presently working for Pfaff Plumbing and Heating, Enderlin.
He is survived by his wife, Julie, Fargo; parents, Al Stolz, Enderlin, Gertrude Stolz, Bismarck; one brother Craig, (Cheri) Mission Viego, Calif. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Stolz.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Douglas Dick, Jess Redmond, Joel Kotschevar, Scott Schmitz, Todd Carter and Steve Schmitz.
Music was provided by organist Verna Armstrong and soloist Owen Trangsrud.
Interment at Enderlin Cemetery, Enderlin.

Clifford O. Maasjo
Funeral services for Clifford O. Maasjo, 88, Enderlin, were held on Sunday, September 5, 2004 at St. Petri Lutheran Church, rural Nome, N.D. Reverend Bradley Edin officiated. Mr. Maasjo died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Lisbon Area Health Services Hospital.
Clifford O. Maasjo, son of Emil and Christine (Fjeldstad) Maasjo was born on April 9, 1916 in Voltaire, N.D. In 1917 his family moved to Fingal where Clifford attended the Langemo country grade school and Fingal High School.
On December 17, 1939, he married
Martha Johnson. They farmed near Nome. In 1973, they bought and operated Parkside Grocery store in the Sheyenne River Valley, near Kathryn, N.D. They moved to Nome in 1977 and in 1998 they entered Maryhill Manor in Enderlin.
He was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church, rural Nome. He was a member of the rural fire department, farm bureau, and was a past president of the Sons of Norway.
He is survived by three sons, Dennis (Joyce Maasjo, Enderlin) Maasjo, Lodge Grass, Mont., Darrell (Judy) Maasjo, Madison, Minn., Dale (Becky) Maasjo, Nome; one daughter, Gerri Fairfield, Fargo; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Jarl (Lois) Maasjo, Kindred. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a granddaughter.
Interment at St. Petri Cemetery.

Dottie Sondreal
Funeral services for Dottie Sondreal, 78, Grand Forks, were held on Friday, September 10, 2004 in United Lutheran Church, Grand Forks. Mrs. Sondreal died Monday, September 6, 2004 in Thompson, N.D.
Dottie (Bertha Alice) Johnson, daughter of Bertina and William Johnson was born on April 16, 1926 in Hope, N.D. She graduated from high school at Portland, N.D.
On August 19, 1945, she married
Cameron Sondreal. They farmed in the Portland area before moving to Grand Forks in 1955. They later moved to Mesa, Ariz. in 1972 where Dottie had a beauty shop.
She is survived by her children, Beverly (Robert) Heverly, Jersey Shore, Pa., James (Shirley) Sondreal, Thompson, Donnie (Bonnie) Sondreal, Thompson, Gary (Carol) Sondreal, Grand Forks, Diane (Dale) Hilde, East Grand Forks, Lyle Sondreal, Fargo and Sharon Sondreal, Fargo; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, brother, Alf Johnson, Galesburg, N.D.; sisters, Solveig Grupp, Sioux Falls, S.D., Doris (Hjalmer) Karlstad, Lisbon, Violet (Walter) Rindy, Mayville, Hilma Hammer, Tacoma, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Cameron; brother, Burt Johnson; sister, Clara Grupp; a grandson and great-grandson.
Interment at Sunnywood Gardens Cemetery, Grand Forks

Stanley G. Hennum
Funeral services for Stanley G. “Buddy” Hennum, 70, Enderlin, were held on Monday, August 2, 2004 at First Lutheran Church, Enderlin. Reverend Leon Zavadil officiated. Mr. Hennum died Monday, July 26. 2004 at his home in Enderlin.
Stanley G. Hennum, son of Morris and Emma (Gorvin) Hennum was born on July 28, 1933 in Donaldson, Minn. He attended school in Donaldson, Minn.
On July 26, 1964, he married
Lorraine Hins in Manson, Iowa. Buddy farmed near Donaldson, Minn. In 1964 he moved to Manson, Iowa. He worked construction for one summer. He worked for S and D Chevy Garage for 1 1/2 years. He then worked as a truck driver They moved to Gowrie, Iowa where he operated a Truck and Trailer Hospital They moved to Boxholm, Iowa where he worked on a farm. In 1973 they moved to Medina, N.D. where he drove a milk truck for 7 1/2 years before working for the city of Medina. They moved to Enderlin in 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Hennum, Enderlin; two sons, Winston, Aberdeen, S.D. and Russell (Rhonda) of Harper’s Ferry, Iowa; and three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Merle Hennum and Pete Gorvin.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Jason Gudmestad, Darrell Graf, Gary Grundstrom, Chris Heinz, Gary Gorvin, and Todd Hennum.
Music was provided by organist Shirley Hanson and vocalists Owen Trangsrud and Paul Billing.
Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Donald, Minn.

Arlo J. Henrichsen
Funeral services for Arlo J. Henrichsen, 78, Watertown, S.D., were held on Monday, July 26, 2004 at Grace Lutheran Church, Watertown, S.D. Reverend Gary Westgard officiated. Mr. Henrichsen died Thursday, July 22, 2004 in Watertown.
Arlo Julius Henrichsen, son of Wilhelm and Rose (Herr) Henrichsen was born on May 1, 1926 at Lily, S.D. He attended school in Lily. After finishing school he and his brother, Therlo farmed together for several years. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served two years in Korea. He farmed on the home place by Crandall, S.D. until 1986. Arlo retired and moved off the farm in 1987.
On September 24, 1988, he married
Evie Sorenson, at Watertown. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Arlo became very active in the VFW through the years and was a member of the VFW Post 750 in Watertown, serving two years as Post Commander and two years as District Commander. He earned a white cap and a National Eide DeCamp cap during each of those four years. He was a member of Korean War Veterans Association, Eastern SD Chapter 194, a past president of the Watertown Senior Citizens group, belonged to the Glacial Lakes Retired Senior Volunteer Program, was a former member of Golden Kiwanis, a board member of Watertown Transportation, and a board member of TRIAD File of Life. He was also a member of the Olson-Reid Post 250 of the American Legion in Castlewood and the Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Evie, Watertown; two step-daughters (Rosalie (Dick) Hudson, Yankton, S.D. Wynn (Tom) Harder, Bird Island, Minn.; six step-grandchildren; 16 great-stepgrandchildren; three brothers, Therlo Henrichsen, Bristol, John (Cathy) Henrichsen, Lisbon, Bill (Bonnie) Henrichsen, Castlewood; three sisters, Delores (Maynard) Whitmyre, Webster, Doris (Bud) LaBrie, Doland, and Joan (Dallas) Solberg, Aberdeen. Pallbearers for the funeral were Rick LaBrie, Bob Whitmyre, Kristi Stein, Carrie Henrichsen, Scott Solberg, Lori Haberer, Sara Burgett and Joe Hudson.
Honorary pallbearers were his nieces and nephews and members of Post 750 of the VFW and Auxiliary.
Music was provided by organist A.J. Sherrill and soloist Don Seim.
Military Honors Frank H. Adams Post 750 of the VFW.

Charles A. Johnson
Funeral services for Charles A. Johnson, 84, Seattle, Wash., were held on Friday, July 2, 2004 at Bethel Lutheran Church, Shoreline, Wash. Mr. Johnson died Monday, June 28, 2004 in Seattle.
Charles Austin Johnson, son of Walter and Alpha Johnson was born on April 10, 1920 at Fort Ransom. He grew up in Fort Ransom. He attended NDSSS at Wahpeton. In 1940 he moved to Seattle.
On December 14, 1941, he married
Camilla Tangen. During the war years Austin worked at Boeing. After the war he went to work in the Sheet Metal industry and continued in the sheet metal trade in Seattle for fifty years. He lived in Fort Ransom for 20 years and Washington for 64 years.
He is survived by his wife, Camilla; one daughter, Pamela Jean (Steve) McKinstry, Portland, Ore.; one son, Charles (Jean) Johnson, Jr., Seattle; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother, Donald (Thelma) Johnson.
Interment at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery, Seattle.
Roy Nustad
Funeral services for Roy Nustad, 86, Jamestown, were held on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown. Pastor Terry Anderson officiated. Mr. Nustad died Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.
Roy Nustad, son of Edward and Minnie (Stigen) Nustad was born on June 27, 1918 in Bonetrail, N.D. He grew up on a farm near Grenora, N.D. Roy graduated from Grenora High School.
On September 26, 1941, he married
Hazel Trulson in Plentywood, Mont. He continued to farm with his family until moving to farm south of Jamestown in 1959. They lived in Montpelier, N.D. for a short time, then returned to the farm south of Jamestown. They farmed there until 1986, when they moved to Jamestown. Hazel died June 1, 2002. He served on the Grenora School Board and Montpelier Lutheran Church Board and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Sons of Norway.
He is survived by four sons, Gary, Jamestown, Robert (Carol), Jamestown, Billy (Marcia) Fargo and Don (Corinne), Moorhead; one daughter, Barbara (Eldon) Huether, Cloquet, Minn., formerly of Lisbon; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leslie (Adeline) Nustad, Hayden, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers, Steve, Harry, Lindahl, and Morris, one sister, Palma Nelson and one infant sister.
Interment at Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.

Jerome Zalumskis
Funeral services for Jerome Zalumskis, 39, Jamestown, were held on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the Basilica of St. James. Father Al Bitz officiated. Mr. Zalumskis died Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.
Jerome “Jerry” Zalumskis, son of Stan and Mamie (Parker) Zalumskis was born on September 2. 1964 in Fargo, N.D. He was an “Air Force Brat” until 1972 when the family moved to Riverdale, N.D. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Bismarck in May 1983. He attended Bismarck State College for two years and earned a degree in criminal justice. Mr. Zalumskis worked security and private investigation in the Bismarck-Mandan area until March 1989 when he began working for the North Dakota State Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. In the spring of 1998 he moved to Jamestown to work at the James River Correctional Center. He was a member of the ND Peace Officers Association and the NRA.
In December 2002, he married
Erin Schlagel.
He is survived by his wife, Erin; two daughters, Sydney, Jamestown, Rebecah, Lennox, Iowa; his parents, Stan and Mamie Zalumskis, Bismarck; father and mother-in-law, Perry and Sylvia Schlagel, Enderlin and a sister-in-law, Amy Schlagel, Fargo. He was preceded in death by his brother, William and maternal and paternal grandparents.
