Gerald A. Schweitzer
Funeral services for Gerald A. Schweitzer, 52, Lisbon, were held on Wednesday, September 15 at Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon. Reverend Beth Conrad officiated. Mr. Schweitzer died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at his home in Lisbon.
Gerald A. Schweitzer, son of Andrew and Agatha (Reis) Schweitzer was born on February 15, 1952 in Aberdeen S.D. He attended Aberdeen school, graduating from high school there. He was in the U.S. Marines from 1969 to 1971.
On August 26, 1978, he married
Mary Ann Renz in Hazelton, N.D. Gerald lived in Hazelton where he worked for the Boiler Makers Union. He moved to Lisbon in January. He worked at Bobcat in Gwinner as a welder. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Schweitzer, Lisbon; two sons, Eric (Sheila), Ankeny, Iowa., Dustin, Grand Forks; daughter, Tonya (Jeremiah) Opp, Lisbon; four grandchildren; two brothers, Timothy (Kimberly) Pueblo, Colo., Robert (Machelle), Medina, Ohio; five sisters, Arlene (Leroy) Gabriel, Loveland, Colo., Sharon (Don) Davis, Salina, Kans., Patty (Eloy) Malson, Laramie, Wyo., Kay (Mike) Gida, Loveland, Colo., and Tracy (Clyde) Hagen, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Alfred J. Roth
Funeral services for Alfred J. Roth, 86, Enderlin, were held on Monday, September 13, 2004 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Enderlin. Father John Fallon officiated. Mr. Roth died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at Maryhill Manor, Enderlin.
Alfred J. Roth, son of Joseph and Anna (Bauer) Roth was born on March 16, 1918 in Dickey, N.D. He attended school in rural Lisbon. Alfred farmed near Enderlin.
He is survived by one brother, Max (Mary), Los Angeles, Calif.; and two sisters, Marie Knutson, Savage, Minn., and Bernadette (Maurice) Dosdall, Paynesville, Minn.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Chester Larson, James Gilbert, Joel Schmitz, William Bott, Wayne Glaser, and Robert Roth.
Music was provided by organist Sylvia Schlagel and soloist Paul Billing.
Interment at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Enderlin.

Annabelle Johnson
Funeral services for Annabelle Johnson, 79, Minot, were held on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. Mrs. Johnson died Saturday, September 11, 2004 in a Fargo Health Center.
Annabelle Johnson, daughter of Jessie and Edward Lindstrom was born on May 18, 1925 in Shell Creek, N.D. She graduated from Minot High School in 1943. After graduation, she worked at Northern States Power as a telephone operator.
On November 10, 1946, she married
Roland Johnson in Minot. They owned and operated Refrigeration Equipment Company for many years. Roland died June 22, 2001. This past year she resided in Fargo. Annabelle was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Bruce) Sullivan, Minneapolis, Minn., Rodney (Marilyn) Johnson, Sawyer, N.D., Luanne (Jeff) Lee, Fargo, Raymond Johnson, Minot and Laureen (Jon “Stan”) Nyborg, Fargo; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Erickson, Denver, Colo., and two brothers, Dave Lindstrom, Burlington, N.D. and Elmer Lindstrom, Lisbon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland, parents, sister, Doreen Erickson, brothers, Carlee and Vernie Lindstrom and Charles and James M. Dunlap.
Interment at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Evelyn Nordlinder
Funeral services for Evelyn Nordlinder, 95, New Rockford, N.D., were held on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at First Lutheran Church, New Rockford. Reverend Charles Anderson officiated. Mrs. Nordlinder died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Carrington Health Center, Carrington.
Evelyn Nordlinder, daughter of Elmer and Betina (Bergum) Harrum was born on February 21, 1909 in McClusky, N.D. When she was 6 years old, her family moved to the Sheyenne, N.D. area to farm. She attended country school near Sheyenne, and then attended high school in Maddock.
On October 14, 1929, she married
John E. Nordlinder, at Devils Lake. They moved to Duluth, Minn., returning to Sheyenne in 1931. John worked for farmers in the Sheyenne area until they got their own farm north and east of New Rockford. In 1947, they bought a farm at Verona. They moved to Renton, Wash. in 1962 and returned to New Rockford in 1973. John Nordlinder died November 5, 1993. Evelyn was a member of First Lutheran Church of New Rockford.
She is survived by five sons, Norman (Lorna), Minot, Roger A., Sheyenne, Marvin L., Lisbon, Dennis, Belleair Bluffs, Fla. and Don (Nancy), Wasilla, Alaska; two daughters, Delores E. Lucht, Brahn, Minn. and Marlys (James) Raatz, Verona; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Lovera Settelmeyer, Fargo. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, one son, Arnold in 1980; and two daughters, Bernice Pritchard in 1984 and Norma Hoover in 1995.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Douglas Larson, Dennis Larson, David Larson, Larry Alderson, Robert Johnson and James Raatz. Honorary bearers were all of her friends.
Music was provided by organist Doreen Taylor and soloist Brenda Bachmeier.
Interment at Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford.

Sherman A. Westman
Sherman A. Westman, 74, Seattle, Wash., died Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at home under Hospice care,
Sherman Alan Wastman, son of Andrew and Nora (Lunneborg) Wastman was born on April 15, 1930 at Milnor. He attended school at rural Dunbar School and Milnor School. In 1942 the family moved to Tacoma, Wash., where he attended Junior High and Stadium High School. He worked on ships at Tacoma shipyards during WWII. In 1949 he joined the Zaback firm as an apprentice.
On September 15, 1950, he married
Lorraine M. Johnson at Tacoma First Lutheran Church. In 1964 they became charter members at North Lake Lutheran Church, Bothell. Later he moved to Portland, Ore. In 1955 he moved to back Seattle, Wash. where he continued to work as a mechanical engineer for the city.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; three children, Steve Westman, Linda Nolf and Sheryl Charvat; three grandchildren; one sister, LaVonne Nelson, Renton, Wash.; two brothers, Lowell Wastman, Foster City, Calif., Wendall Wastman, Seattle, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Nona, brother, Arnie, infant brother Norman and a grandson.
Interment at Whitestone Hill Cemetery, rural Gwinner.

Cody J. Seelye
Funeral services for Cody J. Seelye, 13, Britton, S.D., were held on Monday, September 20, 2004 at the Amacher Auditorium of Britton-Hecla School, Britton. Reverend Ryan Mutzenberger officiated. Cody died Tuesday, September 14, 2004.
Cody John Seelye, son of John and Lori (Graf) Seelye was born on February 18, 1991 at Oakes. He was currently a seventh grader at Britton-Hecla Junior High, Britton.
Cody attended the Hecla United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Sunday School and had just begun his confirmation studies.
He is survived by his parents, John and Lori Seelye, Britton; a brother Casey Seelye and a sister, Amanda Seelye, both at home; great-grandparents, Rueben and Martha Ackerman, Aberdeen; maternal grandparents, Robert and Janet Graf, Houghton, S.D.; paternal grandparents, Clifford and Betty Seelye, Fort Ransom. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lester and Esther Graf.
Interment at Houghton Cemetery, Houghton, S.D.

Lorraine R. Ulland
Funeral services for Lorraine R. Ulland, 82, Lisbon, were held on Monday, September 27, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon. Reverends Norman Anderson and David Killeen officiated. Mrs. Ulland died Thursday, September 23, 2004 at Lisbon Area Health Services.
Lorraine E. Ulland, daughter of Jens and Palma (Olsted) Rensby was born on October 12, 1921 in Fingal. She attended rural Kathryn School and Valley City High School.
On October 12, 1941, she married
H.K. Ulland in rural Lidgerwood, N.D. They lived in Casselton and Milnor before moving to Lisbon in 1944. Lorraine worked at the Stake-Out for several years. She was Ransom County Register of Deeds for several years. H.K. died June 20, 2001.
She is survived by four sons, Kenneth, Portland, Ore., L. Arlie (Diane) Ocala, Fla., Brad, Lisbon, Robert, Spokane, Wash.; one daughter, Janet Stevens, Crystal Lake, Ill.; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Berniece (Harold Dick) Hallquist, Lisbon and Jeannette Hesker, Valley City.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Dennis Lyons, Donald Hallquist, Jeff Kruger, Jack Rieger, Joe Howell, Tom Deis and Rachel Eppler.
Music was provided by organist Jan Hansen and soloist Brad Lambrecht.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.

Colleen K. Arp
Funeral services for Colleen K. Arp, 60, Lisbon, formerly Cogswell, were held on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at N.D. Veterans Home, Lisbon. Father Andrew Dudzinski officiated. Mrs. Arp died Sunday, September 26, 2004 at N.D. Veterans Home, Lisbon.
Colleen K. (Connie) Arp, daughter of John and Marion (Grace) McMahon was born on May 12, 1944 in Sioux Falls, S.D. She attended Brandon, S.D. School.
On August 8, 1964, she married
Gustav W. Arp., Sioux Falls, S.D. They lived in Britton, S.D. before moving to Inwood, Iowa. They moved to Canton, S.D. where Connie worked at the Sioux Valley News. They returned to Britton where she worked as a hostess at Hunter Lanes, managed Britton Liquor and Britton Club House. They moved to rural Cogswell. She worked for Buhl’s Cleaners and the Oakes Hospital. In 1998 they moved to the N.D. Veterans Home in Lisbon.
She is survived by her husband, Gustav Arp, Lisbon; one son, John (Doreen) Cogswell; two daughters, Michele Kurth, Kindred, Jolene Pickell, Groton, S.D.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother Kevin (Denise) Bettendorf, Iowa; two sisters, Maureen (Roger) Ochsner, Brooklyn Park, Minn., Kathleen (Doug) Edwards, Brookings, S.D.
Pallbearers for the funeral were John Arp, Trevor Person, Dan Peterson, Larry Dahl, Kevin McMahon, and Don Arp.
Music was provided by organist Maureen Ochsner and soloist Pat Olson.
Interment at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Lisbon.
