Ardella J. Hutchinson
Funeral services for Ardella J. Hutchinson, 87, Enderlin, will be held on Monday, December 13, 2004 at Armstrong Funeral Home, Enderlin. Reverend Leon Zavadil officiated. Mrs. Hutchinson died Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at Maryhill Manor, Enderlin.
Ardella J. Hutchinson, daughter of John and Anna (Hawkinson) Johanneson was born on September 8, 1917 in Kathryn, ND. She attended school in Enderlin.
In 1937, she married
Bert E. Hutchinson. They lived in Enderlin for a few years before moving to Minneapolis where Ardella worked at Donaldson’s. He died in August of 1993. She returned to Enderlin in 1996.
She is survived by one sister, Mae Bergland, Enderlin; two brothers, Richard (Ruby), Enderlin and Roy (Dory), Enderlin. She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers, Alf, Hollis and Clifford.
Pallbearers for the funeral are her nieces and nephews.
Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Minneapolis.

Pearl I. Iserman
Funeral services for Pearl I. Iserman, 83, Lisbon, were held on Friday, February 4, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon. Reverend Norman Anderson and Reverend David Killeen officiated. Mrs. Iserman died Monday, January 31, 2005 at Parkside Lutheran Home, Lisbon.
Pearl I. Iserman, daughter of Edward P. and Inga (Peterson) Dalos was born on May 19, 1921 in Englevale, ND. She graduated from Stirum High School in 1939.
On November 14, 1943, she married
John Wesley Iserman in Lisbon. They lived in Lisbon where Pearl worked at Helmer’s Jewelry and Moll’s Super Valu while also helping her husband operate the bowling alley. In 1960 they moved to Annadale, MN. Pearl helped her husband operate the bowling alley there and also worked at Fingerhut in St. Cloud for 19 years. In November of 1984 they returned to Lisbon. Pearl worked part-time at Armstrong Funeral Home. She was a member of Rachael-Sarah Circle of Trinity Lutheran Church, VFW Auxiliary, Senior Citizens, Parkside Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary all in Lisbon. He died November 11, 1989.
She is survived by one son, Bruce (Dea), Fargo; two grandsons, Brent, Brainerd, MN, Scott (Tawn) and great-granddaughter, Mackenzie of Houston, TX; two brothers, Harry (Alice), Enderlin, Marvin (Rolande), Sun City, AZ; and one sister, Ellen Wanberg, Missoula, MT. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ingel.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Rodney Olson, John Otterson, Charles Muralt, Tom Ose, Keith Dick, Rick Neameyer, Lyle Olson and Michael Kelsen.
Music was provided by organist Cindy Hagel and soloist Susan Vanyo.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.

Elsa Rude
Funeral services for Elsa Robinson Rude, 80, Elim Care Center, Fargo, were held on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at First Lutheran Church, Fargo. Mrs. Rude died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Elim Care Center, Fargo.
Elsa Kempel was born on February 8, 1924 in Stirum, ND. On July 19, 1945, she married
Lester Robinson. They lived in Lisbon, Fergus Falls, Jamestown and Wahpeton. Elsa raised her family in Wahpeton. She moved to Fargo in 1987.
She married
Harlan Rude on October 18, 1998.
She is survived by her son, Lynn (Michelle Bonneville) Robinson, Seattle, WA; daughter, Maria (Kevin) Bjerken, Shakopee, MN; step-daughters, Nancy (Jon) Galle, Midland, TX, Linda (Dean) Olson, Belton, TX, Lois (Alec Kohut) Rude, Burke, VA, Colleen (Paul) Rommesmo, Amenia; seven step-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; brothers, Ted (Hazel) Kempel, Gwinner, Emmanual Kempel, Gwinner; sisters, Lydia Rotenberger, Gwinner, Francis Fadness, Moorhead and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands.
Interment at Lisbon Oakwood Cemetery
in the spring.

James Thomas
Funeral services for James Thomas, 68, Battle Lake, were held on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church of Amor. Reverend James Gronbeck officiated. Mr. Thomas died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Banner Baywood Heart Hospital, Mesa, AZ.
James Thomas, son of Howard and Catherine (LaFever) Thomas was born on August 14, 1936 in Lisbon. He attended elementary and high school in DeLamere, ND, graduating in 1954. He then served in the US Navy from 1954 to 1957. He attended North Dakota State University from 1957-1961, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
On June 12, 1964, he married
Kathleen Flados at Rutland, ND. He worked as a quality manager at 3M Company for 30 years before retiring in 1996 to his Otter Tail Lake home near Battle Lake.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen; a son, Neil (Susan) Thomas, Brookings; daughter, Colleen (Edward) Poeschl, Hugo, MN; and five grandchildren.
Interment at Lakeside Cemetery, Milnor.

Vivian E. Hurley
Funeral services for Vivian E. Hurley, 98, LaMoure, were held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 in Trinity Lutheran Church, LaMoure. Reverend Thomas Puffe officiated. Mrs. Hurley died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 in Mercy Hospital, Valley City.
Vivian Eugena Paulson, daughter of Charles and Marie (Bielfeldt) Paulson, was born on December 27, 1906 near Ogden, IA. In 1908 the family moved to a farm west of Adrian, ND.
On August 18, 1928, she married
Albert Howard Hurley. They lived in LaMoure. Vivian was an active community member participating in such activities as Homemakers Club, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Brownies, PTA, Sunset Park Board, LaMoure Country Club, bowling leagues and various bridge clubs. On March 3, 1977, Vivian Joined Trinity Lutheran Church at LaMoure where she belonged to Ruth Circle. He died January 24, 1977.
She is survived by two daughters, Irene Botner, Gwinner, Nancy (Dale) Erickson, Hibbing, MN; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Cleo (Adeline), Jamestown; son-in-law, Louis J. Borcuk, Riverside, CA and two sisters-in-law, Olive Hurley, LaMoure and Jeanette Paulson, Sun City, AZ.
Pallbearers were Darren Erickson, Lara Wittenberg, Lester Cole Paulson, Vivette Botner, Charles Beeber and Katherine Botner.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Larson, Marilyn Sather, Virginia Anderson, Lloyd Hurley, Ben Collins and JIm Hurley
Special music was provided by Kathie Hay, organist and vocalists Deb Kindelspire, Karen Puffe and Loretta Rasmusson.
Interment at Holy Rosary Cemetery, LaMoure.

Jeane P. Schuman
Memorial services for Jeane P. Schuman, 81, Oakes, were held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 in Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Oakes. Miss Schuman died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 in Oakes Community Hospital.
Jeane Priscilla Schuman, was born on November 21, 1923 in Fargo. She was adopted at an early age by Frank and Elna (Thornell) Schuman. She spent her childhood on a farm southwest of Verona and attended rural school near there at Ovid Township #3. Jeane continued to live on the farm until 1974, when she moved to Oakes and did housecleaning jobs for people in the area. At the time of her death, Jeane had been a resident of the Oakes Good Samaritan Center.
Interment at Oakes View Cemetery, Oakesin the spring.

Florence J. Kindl
Funeral services for Florence J. Kindl, 91, Oakes, ND, were held on Saturday, February 5, 2005. Reverend David Isaacson officiated. Mrs. Kindl died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Oakes Good Samaritan Center.
Florence J. Kindl, daughter of Frank and Anna (Brekke) Holub was born on January 8, 1914, rural Verona. She attended rural Verona and Verona High School. During WWII she worked for Amathorp Torpedo Plant.
On February 1, 1947, she married
Frank J. Kindl in Illinois. In the early 1930’s Florence went to Chicago. After their marriage they lived in Harvey, IL. They retired to Lost Dutchman, Apache Junction, AZ in 1980. She entered Oakes Good Samaritan Center in 2001. He died January 23, 1990.
She is survived by one brother, Arthur (Verna), Lisbon; four sisters, Frances Clark, Wahoo, NE, Carrie Gentzkow, LaMoure, Doris George, Lyons, IL, Lois Tesar, McHenry, IL. and 20 nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Frank Holub, Lewis Holub, Rodney Gentzkow, Donald Gentzkow, Richard Clark, Donald Clark, Rod Garland and Ron Garland.
Music was provided by organist Marlene Dahl and soloist Jeremy Swanson.
Interment at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Verona, ND.

Anna B. Jacobson
Funeral services for Anna B. Jacobson, 87, Gwinner, were held on Monday, February 7, 2005 at Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church, Gwinner. Reverend Josh Schunk officiated. Mrs. Jacobson died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Lisbon Area Health Services.
Anna B. Anderson, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Silvernail) Anderson was born on September 30, 1917 in Lisbon. She graduated from Gwinner High School.
On November 15, 1939, she married
Harold Jacobson in Gwinner. They lived near Gwinner. She was a Sunday School teacher for several years and also a 4-H leader.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, Gwinner; two sons, Steve (Carolyn), Gwinner, Joey, Overland Park, KS; one daughter, Alice (Clay) Johnson, McLeod, ND; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jane Sandstrom, Gwinner. She was preceded in death by a son, Harvey and a daughter, Ennette Stevens.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Bruce Todd Stevens, Joel Stevens, Blaine Stevens, Troy Jacobson, Chad Stefonowicz, Travis Stefonowicz and Dakota Jacobson.
Interment at Gwinner Cemetery, Gwinner.
