Paul Giles
Paul R. Giles, 76, of Eau Claire, Wisc., died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Luther Hospital after a brief fight with cancer.
Paul was born Sept. 1, 1925, in Eau Claire, the son of William and Orra (Moore) Giles. He graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1944. Paul entered the Army in October 1943 and served his country for 30 months during WWII, including overseas duty in Germany. Following the service, he attended sign painting school and worked as a sign painter.
He married
Margaret Petersen on May 5, 1950. Paul worked for Wood Motors and was a charter pilot and flight instructor for Gibson Aviation. He was company pilot and construction supervisor for what is now SDS Architects for 26 years before retirement. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing and was also involved in serving the Community Table.
Paul was a member of First Baptist Church for 66 years, where he held many offices, singing in the choir for 45 years. He was also a Boy Scout Leader.
Paul is survived by his wife, Margaret “Margo”; daughter, Jackie Giles of Eau Claire; son, Rev. Jeffrey (Jennae) Giles of Ashley; three grandchildren; three brothers, William (Margaret) Giles of Brea, Calif., Gene (Betty) Giles of Eau Claire, and Rev. John “Jack” (Audraine) Giles of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother-in-law, Norman Petersen of Spencer, Wisc.; and many nieces, nephews and friends that have been a special part of his life.
Paul's parents and a brother, Robert, preceded him in death.
A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002, at First Baptist Church in Eau Claire, with Revs. Richard Goins and Ron Harbold officiating.
Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Funeral Mass for Hazel V. Weyrauch, 82, 0f Ray, ND, was Saturday, November 29, 2003 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Ray. Father Johnson officiated and burial was in Highland Cemetery, Ray.

Opal Bingeman

Funeral services for Opal Bingeman, 76, of rural Epping, and more recently of Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston, were held on Monday, December 1, 2003, at the Epping Lutheran Church. Pastor Steve Anderson officiated and burial was at Epping Cemetery.

Clarice Meland
1924-2003
Clarice Meland, 79, from Stanley, ND, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, in a Minot, ND, hospital.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in White Earth.
Burial was at Manitou Cemetery, Manitou.
Jennie Hanson
1914 -2004
Funeral services for Jennie Hanson, 90, of McGregor, ND, were held Thursday, December 16, 2004, at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor. Pastoral Assistant James Hamann officiated and burial was in the Zion Cemetery, McGregor.
Jennie Christine (Berger) Hanson was born March 14, 1914, the daughter of Otto and Maren (Buraas) Berger on the family homestead in Thorson Township, Burke County, ND. She was baptized at Scandia Lutheran Church northeast of McGregor and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church north of McGregor. She attended Merrifield School.
She was united in marriage to Roy O. Hanson on November 19, 1935, in Williston, ND. They lived and worked together on the family farm to make a home for their children, Omar and Janice. Roy passed away June 11, 1974. Jennie moved into McGregor in October of 1977. She died at Tioga Medical Center on Sunday morning, December 12, 2004.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a dedicated worker of the Zion WELCA. She was a great cook and enjoyed coffee time with family and friends. Jennie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Jennie is survived by her son, Omar and his wife, Janice of McGregor, ND; her daughter, Janice Lokken and her husband, Jerry of Lignite, ND; five grandchildren, Justin Hanson of Grand Forks, ND, Michael Hanson of McGregor, ND, Andrew Hanson of Bismarck, ND, Tracy (Ned) Strand of Minot, ND, and Tami (Jason) Bradley of Minot, ND; three great-grandchildren, Trey and Melayna Strand and Averi Bradley all of Minot, ND; a sister-in-law, June Berger of Mesa, AZ, her special long-time friend, Archie Holmen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; one sister, Marie Gudvangen; and three brothers, Olaf, Melvin and Vernon.

Alice V. Anderson
1908 - 2004
Alice V. Anderson, 96 of Devils Lake formerly of Edmore, ND died on Friday, December 17, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Alice were held on Monday, December 20, 2004 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake, ND. Rev. Harold Ovre officiated and burial was in the Edmore Cemetery.
Alice Victoria Severson was born on April 14, 1908 at Hampden, North Dakota the daughter of Albert and Geda Severson. She was reared and educated in the Hampden area attending Country Schools. Alice was united in marriage to Bernard Holm Sr. on October 14, 1927 in Devils Lake. They established their home on a farm at rural Edmore. Mr. Holm died in 1933. After Bernard passed away, Alice moved to Edmore. On January 22, 1940, Alice married
Floyd Anderson at Lakota, ND. They lived in several towns in the area for a few years, then moved to Devils Lake where they lived and worked through the years. Floyd died on December 13, 1970. Alice continued to make Devils Lake her home where she was very active in the Senior Citizen Center as a volunteer. She was an active volunteer into her 90’s. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid.
One of Alice’s favorite hobbies was collecting dolls. She lovingly shared those dolls with her grandchildren. To Alice, time spent with her grandchildren was always considered her most precious treasure.

Claire Langager O’Neill
1917 - 2004
Claire Langager O’Neill was born October 4, 1917 to Tonnes and Christine (Hagen) Langager on their farm north of Wheelock, ND. The youngest of 5 children. She attended grades1-8 in a one-room country school house. And graduated from Ray High School in 1935. Claire took a two year business course in Grand Forks, ND and then moved to New York City.
She worked as a secretary at Citi-Bank, on Wall Street for several years, in 1948. Following the death of her father, Claire returned to Ray, ND, she served as Ward Country Juvenile Commissioner in Minot, ND and then moved to Williston and worked at the Plainsman Hotel where she met her husband to be Jack O’Neill.
Claire and Jack were married
in 1956 in Mesa, AZ. They lived in Williston, ND, Casper WY, and Houston, TX where Jack worked as Rocky Mountain Regional Manager for Cameron Ironworks. He retired in 1984, they left Houston and settled in Mesa, AZ at Fountain of the Sun.
Jack passed away in 1985. Claire continued to make her home in Mesa until she was hospitalized in October 2004. She entered the Citadel Nursing Home where she passed away December 5, 2004 surrounded by family and friends. Pastor David Langager spoke at the Memorial Service December 8, 2004 at Mount View Memorial Gardens.
Claire is survived by a sister-in-law, Doris Langager, Ray, ND. Three nieces, Lavon Mickelsen, Tioga, ND; Beverly Lynnes (Roger), Rolette, ND and Corrine Kjelvik (Bruce) Tempe, AZ. Three nephews Juris Borstad, Katispell, MT; George Solberg (LaShel), Richfield, MN and Dr. Tyrone Langager (Rita), Minot, ND. Numerous great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. Cousins, Pastor David Langager, Mesa, AZ and Silas Langager of Williston, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack O’Niell, her parents, her sisters, Olga Borstad, Ethel Solberg, infant sister, Thelma and her brother, Lloyd Langager and her godson Troy Beasley.
