Helen Johnson
MAYVILLE, N.D. -- Helen Johnson, 91, Mayville, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, in Luther Memorial Home, Mayville.
Helen Rothecker was born April 6, 1909, the daughter of Martin and Katherine (Bachmeier) Rothecker, in Vandre, N.D., where she attended school. She moved to Cummings and Buxton, N.D., area and worked as a housekeeper for area farmers. She married
Victor Johnson on Nov. 17, 1934, in Grand Forks. They farmed near Cummings until 1955, when they moved to Mayville. She worked as a cook for Mayville State University until she retired. Victor Johnson died Oct. 17, 1970.
She is survived by a son, Ralph (Geraldine), Hutchinson, Minn.; daughters, Eleanor (Richard) Bjerke, Page, N.D., Mary (Lowell) Baldock, Portland, N.D., DeLores (Donald) Baldock, East Grand Forks, and Darlene (Darwyn) Aune, Williston, N.D.; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Eva (Roland) Lubeke, Moorhead, and Rose (Hurley) Mandler, Gilbert, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a grandson; four brothers; and two sisters.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Mayville Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Sodeberg Cemetery, Buxton.
Paul Eisenzimmer
DEVILS LAKE -- Paul Eisenzimmer, 66, Devils Lake, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, in Maricopa Medical Center, Phoenix.
Paul Eisenzimmer was born July 17, 1934, the son of Michael and Katherine (Keller) Eisenzimm-
er, in Devils Lake, where he graduated from high school in 1952. He worked at Camp Grafton, Lake Motor Service and in 1968 purchased Power Sales Co., now known as Paul's Appliance Center. He owned and operated this business until his retirement in 1994. He served in the North Dakota National Guard for 29 years. He married
Marjorie Aurland on Sept. 4, 1953, in East Grand Forks. They lived in Devils Lake. Since retiring they have wintered in Arizona.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Allan (Virginia), Devils Lake, and Robert (Carla), Bottineau, N.D.; daughters, Vicki Craig, Devils Lake, Terri (Robert) Duchscher, Rosemount, Minn., and Kristi Eisenzimmer, Fargo; eight grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Jeannie) and William (Virginia), both of Devils Lake, and Jack (Sue), Grand Forks; a sister, Marie (Jack) Michel, Minneapolis; a stepsister, Eleanor (Otto) Grochow, Anamoose, N.D.; and stepbrothers, Sebastian (Willene) Eisenzimmer, Montgomery, Ala., Edward (Mary) Grossman, Harvey, N.D., and Ray (Luella) Grossman, Glenburn, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Floyd Eisenzimmer and Joe Keller; a sister, Alice Weber; his stepfather, Peter Grossman; and a stepbrother, Harry Grossman.
Services: 2 p.m. today, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery
(Gilbertson, Devils Lake).
Robert Pribula
Robert E. Pribula, 75, formerly of East Grand Forks, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, in Valley Memorial Home-4000 Valley Square, Grand Forks.
Robert Ernest Pribula was born Sept. 22, 1925, the son of Paul and Eleanor (Travnicek) Pribula, in East Grand Forks. He attended school in Alvarado, Minn. He married
Dorothy McGrath on Oct. 1, 1946, in Grand Forks. They lived and farmed north of East Grand Forks. In 1962, he built and managed Oslo Potato Co. He sold the plant in 1975, and they moved to East Grand Forks. He formed Gateway Potato Co. in 1978 and worked as a potato broker until retiring in 1997.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Renae (Frank) Gelling, New Holland, Ont., and Karen Keller, Fort Wayne, Ind.; sons, Ernest (Phyllis) and Arnold (Vicki), both of East Grand Forks, Tim (JoLynn), Grand Forks, and Charles, St. Cloud; 16 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; brothers, Ray (Marie), East Grand Forks, Leon (Irene), Alvarado, and Emil (LaVerne), Warren, Minn.; and sisters, Dorothy Pribula, Crookston, and Bernice Sims, Fargo.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Matos.
Services: Noon Wednesday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Norman Funeral Home, Columbia Road, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks.
Myrtle Iverson
LARIMORE, N.D. -- Myrtle Iverson, 88, Larimore, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, in Larimore Good Samaritan Center, where she had lived since Aug. 25, 1998.
Myrtle Anderson was born Nov. 27, 1912, the daughter of Robert and Olga (Johnson) Anderson, in Devils Lake. She grew up and attended school in Doyon, N.D. She graduated from high school in Crary, N.D. She married
Carl Iverson on Nov. 1, 1934, in Petersburg, N.D. They lived and farmed near Dahlen, N.D. They retired in 1975, when they moved to Larimore. Carl Iverson died Oct. 23, 1999.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Jacqueline), Grand Forks; a son-in-law, Herbert Schultz, Dahlen; four grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Rose Anderson.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Schultz; a sister, Olive; and brothers, Arthur and Adrian.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Wednesday, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Larimore.
Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, with a 5 p.m. prayer service, Bakke Funeral Home, Larimore, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Dahlen.
Clifford Juhlke
ARVILLA, N.D. -- Clifford W. Juhlke, 85, formerly of Arvilla, died Dec. 9, 2000, in Minneapolis.
Clifford W. Juhlke was born Nov. 17, 1915, the son of Frank and Cora Juhlke, in Arvilla. He married
Norma Spearman on May 5, 1947. They lived in Minneapolis. He was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Clifford (Meme), St. Paul, and Timothy (Debbie), Round Rock, Texas; a daughter, Kathleen (Jerry) Woodward, in California; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Pauline (Dan) Bee, Gwinner, N.D., Eleanor (Jim) Swenson, Brooklyn Center, Minn., Meryl Almos, Sturgeon Lake, Minn., and Betty (Ray) Trosen, Larimore, N.D.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul.
Services: Were held in Minneapolis.
Burial: Fort Snelling National Cemetery
(Brown, Larimore).
Knute Selmanson
THOMPSON, N.D. -- Knute Selmanson, 89, Norwalk, Calif., formerly of Thompson, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, in the Veterans Hospital, Long Beach, Calif.
Knute B. Selmanson was born Dec. 6, 1911, the son of Bill and Thone Selmanson, in Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joanna; sons, Bernie, Long Beach, and Greg, Huntington Beach, Calif.; daughters, Trisha and Sandra, both of Downey, Calif.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Olson, Grand Forks.
He was preceded in death by a son, Karl.
Services: Were held in Norwalk.
Burial: Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, Calif.
