Robert Lampman
Robert "Buck" Lampman, 69, Fargo, formerly of Grand Forks, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in a Fargo hospital.
Robert Arlen Lampman was born Aug. 23, 1931, in Bismarck. In 1942, he moved with his family to Grand Forks, where he graduated from high school in 1949. He worked for a men's clothing store in Grand Forks. He married
Elaine Lizotte in 1953, in Red Lake Falls, Minn. In the early 1970s he moved to Fargo. He married
Ovedia "Vidi" Haakenson Burton.
He is survived by sisters, Doris Potter, Bismarck, and Joyce Lampman, Las Vegas; and brothers, Dean, Lakewood, Ohio, Theodore, Rocky River, Ohio, Clifford, Palm Desert, Calif., and Ora, Upland, Calif.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Lillian Slomgren Aarvig and Donna Huyck (Fredrikson, Kindred, N.D.)
Henrietta Kerian
MINTO, N.D. -- Henrietta M. Kerian, 87, Minto, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at home.
Henrietta M. Osowski was born May 2, 1913, the daughter of Anton "Tony" and Anna (Chelmosky) Osowski, in Warsaw, N.D. She moved with her family to Walsh Centre Township, where she attended school. She graduated from high school in Minto. She attended Valley City and Mayville Normal School, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught school in Walsh County, N.D. She married
Fred Kerian on Nov. 11, 1935, in Minto. They lived and farmed in Harriston Township, Walsh County. She worked for the Grafton (N.D.) Development Center for 13 years and at the Lutheran Sunset Home. She retired in 1984. Fred Kerian died June 14, 1981.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia (Don) Herbel, Minot/Bismarck, Virginia "Ginny" (Brendan) Brazil, Minto, Winnie (Carl) Zeamer, Richland, Wash., Dorette Kerian (formerly Dusterhoft), Grand Forks, and Helen (Glen) Hagemeister, Argusville, N.D.; sons, Ted (JoAnn), Minto, and Larry (Pat Murray), Fargo; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bernard, Minto.
She was preceded in death by three grandchildren; and brothers, Chester, Edwin, Joseph, Richard and Leonard.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Tuesday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Minto.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Tollefson Funeral Home, Grafton, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Florence Fenner
DEVILS LAKE -- Florence R. Fenner, 82, Devils Lake, formerly of Crary, N.D., died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, in Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
Florence Rose Barrett was born June 7, 1918, the daughter of Forrest and Mary (Braniff) Barrett, in Crary, where she attended school. She married
Leo Fenner on March 12, 1938, in Devils Lake. They lived near Crary. Leo Fenner died Sept. 25, 1981. In 1992, she moved to Devils Lake.
She is survived by daughters, Tudy (Jerry) Stahlecker, Mosinee, Wis., Judy (Dan) Streifel, Pelican Rapids, Minn., Mary Lou (Tim) McLean, Fox, Okla., and Carol Fenner, Devils Lake; sons, Kenneth (Arlita), Deer Lodge, Mont., and Gary (Anna), Starkweather, N.D.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Anne Winnegge, Tooele, Utah, and Irene Olson, Bellingham, Wash.
She was preceded in death by a son, James; a sister, Edna Zacher; and brothers, Robert, Angus, and William.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake.
Visitation: Noon to 9 p.m. today, and one hour before services both in the funeral home.
Burial: Crary Community Cemetery.
Betty Burrill
Betty A. Burrill, 70, 3401 Belmont Rd., died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at home.
Betty Ann Beamis was born May 31, 1930, the daughter of Stephen and May (Pepperell) Beamis, in Norwich, Norfolk, England, where she attended school. She worked as a librarian for Norwich and Norfolk Library. She married
Donald Burrill on Nov. 22, 1961, in Norwich. They lived in the United States from 1963 to 1968. They lived in England from 1968 to 1973. In November 1973, they moved to Grand Forks. She worked for B. Dalton Bookseller from 1980 to 1986.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Sarah (Tye) Bowen, Minneapolis, and Naomi (Michael) Patnaude, Grand Forks; a son, Duncan, Grand Forks; six grandchildren; and a brother, Donald (Evelyn), Dereham, England.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rebecca; and a brother, Peter.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel, S. Washington St.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service and one hour before services, all in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Altru Cancer Center, Box 6002, Grand Forks, ND 58206-6002.
James Hazard Jr.
COOPERSTOWN, N.D. -- James Hazard Jr., 66, Lidgerwood, formerly of Cooperstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, from injuries received in a work related accident.
James Hazard was born March 15, 1934, the son of James and Cora (Houghton) Hazard, in Cooperstown, where he graduated from high school in 1952. He worked on the family farm and Hazard Construction near Cooperstown. He married
Gretchen Wold on Aug. 11, 1979, in Binford, N.D. They later moved to Lidgerwood and then to Hankinson, N.D., where he worked for Gutemer Scrap Salvage Co., the city of Hankinson. He had been working for Lellegard Inc. of Wahpeton, N.D., and also had a picture framing business.
He is survived by sisters, Marjorie (Clifford) Ashland, Pensacola, Fla., Joanne (Richard) Schwappach, Bismarck, and Ardys (Phil) Rundle, LaCross, Wis.; brothers, Edwin (Evelyn), Mission, Texas, and William (Marjorie), Cooperstown; stepchildren, Bill Wold, Mary (Ray) Carter, Janna (Scott) McGaw and Terry Strobush; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bruce.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, First Presbyterian Church, Cooperstown.
Memorial services: 7 p.m. today, Evergreen Methodist Church, Wahpeton.
Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. today, Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Cooperstown Cemetery.
Dr. Thomas Alderson
Dr. Thomas "Tom" Alderson, 91, Grand Forks, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000.
Thomas Frederick Alderson was born Sept. 22, 1909, the son of Harvey and Fannie (Krieger) Alderson, in Devils Lake, where he graduated from high school in 1928. He attended UND from 1928 to 1931. He graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1935. He began his dental practice in Lakota, N.D., in 1935. He married
Bernice Ellis on Aug. 23, 1939. They lived in Lakota until 1945, when they moved to Grand Forks. He began his practice in the First National Bank Building and later moved to the new University Medical Arts Building. He retired in 1989.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Nancy (Joseph) Hoppel, St. Louis, Mo., and Janie Alderson, Hopkins, Minn.; a son, Robert (Peggy), Grand Forks; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Smith, Painesville, Ohio; and a brother, Harry, Burlington, Wash.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Thomas; and a sister, Ione Eng.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Tuesday, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Grand Forks.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery

Vivian Sweeney
LARIMORE, N.D. -- Vivian Sweeney, 82, Larimore, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, in Northwood (N.D.) Deaconess Health Center.
Vivian Sweeney was born April 12, 1918, the daughter of George and Tillie (Schaft) Sweeney, in Larimore, where she graduated from high school in 1935. She attended Mayville (N.D.) State Teachers College and began teaching in Grafton, N.D. She graduated from UND. She taught in Fargo, Venezuela and Spokane, Wash. She retired in 1978 and moved back to Larimore to care for her mother.
She is survived by sisters-in-law, Joanne Sweeney, Petoskey, Mich., and Eva Sweeney, Tigert, Ore.; and companion, Robert McCormick, Spokane.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Saturday, St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Larimore.
Visitation: 5 to 7: 30 p.m. today, with a 7: 30 p.m. rosary, and one hour before services all in the church (Brown, Larimore).
