Kit Meier
DEVILS LAKE -- Kit Meier, 50, Minot, formerly of Devils Lake, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, in a Minot medical center.
Kit Frances Meier was born Feb. 17, 1950, the daughter of John and Frances (Gregorson) Peterson, in Valley City, N.D. She grew up and graduated from high school in Devils Lake. She graduated from Moorhead Area Vocational Technical Institute with an associate degree in accounting. She married
Ronald Meier. They lived in Moorhead, where they owned and operated Stonegate Kennels and Pet Shop in Moorhead from 1986 to 1991. They then moved to Minot. She was a charter member of the Fort Totten Little Theater in Devils Lake.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Christopher (Lynee), Grand Forks; a daughter, Kimberly Meier, Minot; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, John "Jack".
Services: Private services will be held. Memorials are suggested to MS Society and the American Cancer Society (Thompson-Larson, Minot).
Olga Krueger
CARRINGTON, N.D. -- Olga Krueger, 90, Bismarck, formerly of Carrington, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at home.
Olga Askim was born Oct. 8, 1910, the daughter of Iver and Tilda (Hammer) Askim, in Lankin, N.D. She grew up and attended school in Edinburg, N.D. She married
Gideon Krueger on Dec. 3, 1931, in Hoople, N.D. They farmed and raised turkeys near Heaton, N.D. During the winter months they lived in Carrington and operated Krueger Guernsey Dairy. Gideon Krueger died April 1, 1985. She had lived in Bismarck for the past couple of years.
She is survived by sons, Duane (Angie), Portland, Ore., and Larry (Marcy), Bismarck; a daughter, Delores Gedrose, Aloha, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and sisters, Nora Lilevig, Sheyenne, N.D., and Thelma (Jared), Bottineau, N.D.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Inga Opp and Anna Olson.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Bowdon (N.D.) Country Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 8: 30 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.
Burial: Bowdon Country Cemetery.
Emma O'Connell
ANETA, N.D. -- Emma B. O'Connell, 91, Aneta, formerly of Carrington, N.D., died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, in Aneta Nursing Home.
Emma Bartine Bjornson was born Oct. 21, 1909, the daughter of Bernhard and Helga (Erickson) Bjornson, in Blaisdell, N.D., where she attended school. She attended college at the Grand Forks Business College. She worked for North Dakota Mill and Elevator, Grand Forks. She married
William O'Connell on April 11, 1941, in Terry, Mont. They moved to Fargo in 1947 and in 1980 they moved to Carrington. William O'Connell died Jan. 9, 1981.
She is survived by a son, Eugene (Terri), Ottowa, Ill.; a daughter, Donna (Tom) Seaburg, Carrington; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; and three brothers.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 8: 30 p.m. today, Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.
Burial: Carrington Cemetery.
Beverly Ferguson
Beverly F. Ferguson, 46, Grand Forks, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Beverly Fern Schuster was born Sept. 2, 1954, the daughter of Otto and Virginia (Hauck) Schuster, in Orange, N.J. She grew up and attended school in Livingston, N.J. In 1972, she married
Ronald Ferguson. They lived in Atlantic City and Morristown, N.J. She worked as a nurse at St. Barnabas Hospital, Morristown. She moved to St. Croix in the Virgin Islands in 1982 and to Orlando, Fla., in 1993. In 1996, she returned to St. Croix and moved to Grand Forks in the summer of 2000.
She is survived by sons, Ronald (Stephanie), Peter (Teresa), Timothy and Daniel, all of Grand Forks; daughters, Heather and Emily, both of the Virgin Islands, and Sandy and Holly, both of Grand Forks; four grandchildren; her mother, Denville, N.J.; and brothers, Richard, of Ohio, Jerry, Denville, and David (Carla), of California.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Norman Funeral Home, Columbia Road, Grand Forks.
Visitation: Two hours before services in the funeral home.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
Marlin McLean
HILLSBORO, N.D. -- Marlin "Hunk" McLean, 59, Hillsboro, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at home.
Marlin Lee McLean was born May 20, 1941, the son of Ray and Clara (Swartz) McLean, in Dahlen, N.D. He moved with his family to Lankin, Park River, and Grafton, N.D. In 1954, he moved to Lakota, N.D., where he graduated from high school in 1959. He attended Mayville State College. He worked for an excavating company and Lakota grain elevators. He married
Myrna Broe on June 24, 1961, in Lakota, where they lived. They moved to Hillsboro in 1969. He worked as a meatcutter for Wally's Jack and Jill, Arne's Fairway and Rick's Food Pride, all in Hillsboro. He retired in December 1999.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Mike (Amy), Fargo, and Mark (Michelle), Hillsboro; a daughter, Marie Mayo, Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; his mother, Lakota; and a brother, Charles (Lana), Petersburg, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Hillsboro.
Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. today, with a 5 p.m. prayer service, Wildeman Funeral Home, Hillsboro, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro.
LeRoy Olson
COOPERSTOWN, N.D. -- LeRoy N. Olson, 70, Cooperstown, formerly of Finley, N.D., died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in Griggs County Hospital, Cooperstown.
LeRoy Norris Olson was born Feb. 24, 1930, the son of Alfred and Fredia (Peterson) Olson, in Hope, N.D. He attended school in Pickert, N.D., and Hope. He graduated from high school in Sharon, N.D. He married
Josie Johnson on May 12, 1957, in Cooperstown. They farmed in the Finley and Pickert area. In 1989, they retired and moved into Cooperstown.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Linda (Rick) Bergsgaard, Bemidji, and Laura (Luke) Wavra, Neosho, Mo.; sons, Dale (Polly), Fargo, and DuWayne (Bonnie), Jamestown; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Eunice Juliuson, Finley, and Marlys Bradburn, Ann Arbor, Mich.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild; a great-grandchild; his parents; and a brother, Verlin.
Services: 2 p.m. today, Finley Lutheran Church.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Finley Cemetery

Ivar Anderson
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Ivar Anderson, 90, Thief River Falls, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Ivar Emanuel Albin Anderson was born March 4, 1910, the son of John and Brita (Enholm) Anderson, in Augsburg Township, Marshall County, Minn., where he attended school. He married
Thelma Gollnick on June 15, 1940. He farmed his entire life. Thelma Anderson died Jan. 1, 1983.
He is survived by daughters, Naomi, Thief River Falls, and Marilyn (Darris) Johnson, Fort Yates, N.D.; sons, Cecil (Maryel), Thief River Falls, and Quinton (Brenda), Lakeville, Minn.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Alice Anderson, Warren, Minn.
He was preceded in death by daughters, Lois and Lorna; brothers, Ted, Leander, Axel, Charles and Albin; and sisters, Olga Benson, Freida Paulson, Ellen Jensen and Esther Troska.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Salem Lutheran Church, Stephen, Minn.
Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Salem Lutheran Cemetery.
