Clarence Sevre
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Clarence Sevre, 89, Thief River Falls, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, in Convalescent Nursing Care Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Clarence Martin Sevre was born Aug. 20, 1911, the son of Olavus and Taletha (Thoreson) Sevre, in St. Hilaire, Minn., where he attended school. He farmed for several years and worked for Farmers Elevator, Thief River Falls. He worked for Hartz store, Thief River Falls and for the Co-op gas station. He married
Esther Spilde on March 31, 1972, in Thief River Falls, where they lived.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Dana (Doug) Amiot, Thief River Falls; stepdaughters, Irene (Duane) Ronnander, Menomonie, Wis., Gay (Gary) Sommerfeld, Grand Forks, and Fay Spilde, Altoona, Wis.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a half sister, Grace Ortloff, Thief River Falls.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother; and half brothers, Charles, Donald, and Glen.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Eidsvold Cemetery, Norway Township, Kittson County, Minn.
Frank Schuh
Frank J. Schuh, 82, Grand Forks, formerly of Lakota, N.D., died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Frank J. Schuh was born April 21, 1918, the son of John and Catherine (Schummer) Schuh, in Dodds Township, Nelson County, N.D., where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He returned to Lakota, where he worked in road construction. For the past 20 years he worked for Bradshaw-Strata of Grand Forks.
He is survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, John, John Henry "Hank" and Paul.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Thursday, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lakota.
Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary service, Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Lakota Cemetery.
Military rites: Rundell-Holicky American Legion Post No. 21.
Irene Moses
DEVILS LAKE -- Irene T. Moses, 76, Devils Lakes, formerly of Crosby, N.D., died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, in Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake, where she had lived since 1997.
Irene T. Haugland was born March 17, 1924, the daughter of Ingabrit and Thea (Berg) Haugland, in Crosby, where she graduated from high school in 1942. She worked for several businesses in the Crosby area. She married
Delbert Moses on March 9, 1944, in Noonan, N.D. They lived and farmed in the Columbus area. In 1948, they moved to Noonan. Delbert Moses died March 11, 1961. She moved to Crosby in 1974. She married
Merle Gunlock in August 1979, in Crosby.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Larry) Zacha, Michigan, N.D.; sons, Dwight, Grand Forks, Roy, Tukwila, Wash., and Wayne (Sandy), Warren, Minn.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mildred Anderson and Freda (Jules) Halvorson, both of Crosby, and Lillian (Dean) Smith, Decorah, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; and brothers, Bud and Jordan.
Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Concordia Lutheran Church, Crosby.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota, and two hours before services in the church.
Burial: Bethlehem Cemetery, Noonan.
Dennis Norgard
LARIMORE, N.D. -- Dennis Norgard, 65, Larimore, died of cancer Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, in Good Samaritan Center, Larimore.
Dennis Norgard was born July 11, 1935, the son of Clarence and Nora (Sydem) Norgard, in Hartland, N.D., where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army. After discharge, he returned to North Dakota. He worked for Swensons Furniture in Minot and with his father on the family farm. He lived in California, where he worked in a vineyard. He returned to North Dakota and moved to Larimore. He worked in civil service at Grand Forks Air Force Base. He later worked construction as a heavy equipment operator for Northern Improvement Co. for 25 years. He retired in 1996. He married
Sandra Swenningson on Feb. 14, 1962, in Palermo, N.D. They lived in Larimore.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Ladene (Brian) Gray, Grand Forks; a grandson; sisters, Shirley Beebe and Sharon (Jerry) Haugen, both of Loveland, Colo.; brothers, Richard (LoVetta), Minot, and Walter (Delores), Kenmare, N.D.; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Norgard, Grand Forks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gerald and Dale.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Larimore.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Bakke Funeral Home, Larimore, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore.
Military rites: Ted Valerius Post No. 97 of the Larimore American Legion.
Adeline Reck
Adeline Z. Reck, 80, formerly of Grand Forks, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in Orange City, Fla.
Adeline Zoe Trottier was born July 14, 1920, the daughter of Wilfred and Margaret (Jacobsen) Trottier, in Bathgate, N.D., where she attended school. She married
Merle Reck on Jan. 14, 1938, in Hallock, Minn. They moved to Grand Forks in 1964. She worked for Herberger's. They moved to Florida in 1998.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Duane (Phyllis), Grand Forks, and Dale (Patricia) Desert Palm Springs, Calif.; a daughter, Janice (Alan) Owen, DeLand, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jean Blair, Everson, Wash., and Beatrice (Don) McConaghy, Fargo.
Services: 1: 30 p.m. Friday, Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before services, all in the funeral home.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
Sulo Koski
BEMIDJI -- Sulo O. Koski, 91, Bemidji, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, in Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji.
Sulo Oliver Koski was born Jan. 14, 1909, the son of Edward and Amanda (Kervinen) Koski, in Kotka, Finland. In 1910, he moved to the United States. He graduated from high school in International Falls, Minn., in 1928. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1933 with a degree in forestry. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a camp superintendent with the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Chippewa National Forest at Pike Bay, Remer and Cut Foot Sioux. He moved to North Dakota and later to Nebraska. He married
Bernice Shepard on March 22, 1947, in Omaha, Neb. They owned and operated Sleepy Hollow Motel, International Falls. He also had a landscape business. In 1960, he began working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a forester in Lac du Flambeau, Wis., Warroad and Red Lake. They moved to Bemidji in 1970. In 1974, he retired.
He is survived by a son, Edward, Grand Marais, Minn.; daughters, Mary Kay (Stephen Lerner) Koski, Hampton Bay, N.Y., and Susan (James Ramsey) Koskinen, Winnipeg; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, Onni; and a sister, Elizabeth Houska.
Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, United Methodist Church, Bemidji.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji (Cease, Bemidji).
