Jeffrey Moore
HOPE, N.D. -- Jeffrey D. Moore, 42, St. Cloud, Minn., formerly of Hope, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at home.
Jeffrey Dean Moore was born May 21, 1958, the son of Wesley and Dorothy (Jacobson) Moore, in Stanley, N.D. Following the death of his father in 1962 the family moved to Hope, where he graduated from high school. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp in 1976. Following his discharge, he moved to St. Cloud, where he attended St. Cloud State University. He worked for Books Etc., and at a local convenience store.
He is survived by his mother, Hope; brothers, Norell (Dana), Homer, Alaska, Terry (Susan), LaHarbra, Calif., William, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Randy, Minneapolis; and sisters, Sandra (Tom) Bommersach, Fargo, Janeen Day, Thunderbay, Ont., and Wendy (Wes) Maisel, Billings, Mont.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Orris and Sophie Moore and Peter and Elizabeth Jacobson.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, St. Petri Lutheran Church, Pickert, N.D.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Pickert Cemetery
(Quam-Plaisted-Cushman, Cooperstown, N.D.).
Billie Jo Kjelland
PARK RIVER, N.D. -- Billie Jo Kjelland, 22, Park River, died in Shreveport, La.
Billie Jo was born June 12, 1978, in Fargo. She came to live with Jim and Marlys Kjelland in October 1980 as a foster child and was adopted by them on Dec. 12, 1981. She attended school in Park River and has been living in Louisiana for the past two years.
She is survived by her parents, Park River; brothers, Paul, Christian and Luke; and sisters, Johanna and Katia; and her grandmothers, Frances Kjelland and Corinne Ramsey, both of Park River.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Victory Free Lutheran Church, Park River.
Visitation: 9: 30 a.m. until the time of services Friday in the church (Henriksen-Overbye, Park River).
Eleanor Hill
Eleanor F. Hill, 89, formerly of East Grand Forks, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Valley Memorial Homes, 4000 Valley Square, Grand Forks.
Eleanor Frances Cariveau was born Aug. 18, 1911, the daughter of Eli and Ida (Jeffrey) Cariveau, in rural East Grand Forks, where she attended school. She married
John Hill on Nov. 20, 1929, in East Grand Forks, where they lived. In 1941, they moved to Grand Forks. In 1966, they moved to Hillsboro, N.D. In 1978, they moved back to East Grand Forks. John Hill died July 7, 1984 and she moved to Grand Forks.
She is survived by daughters, Joyce (Wesley) Laughery, Grand Forks, and Karen (Robert) Williams, Abilene, Texas; sons, Ronald (Bonnie), Palestine, Texas, Robert (Leona), Neosho, Mo., and Daniel (Sue), Grand Forks; 28 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald; a daughter, Maybelle Walsh; five grandchildren; and a brother, Roy.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Norman Funeral Home, Columbia Road, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks.
Michael Chewakin II
Michael A. Chewakin II, 23, East Grand Forks, formerly of Fargo, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Michael Andrew Chewakin II was born Dec. 27, 1976, the son of Michael and Mary (Gustafson) Chewakin, in Minot. He grew up in Mandan. In 1993, he moved to Fargo, where he graduated from high school in 1995. He attended the University of Mary, Bismarck and East Grand Forks Technical College.
He is survived by his parents; a brother, Arthur, Fargo; and grandparents, Eleanor Chewakin, Minot, and Lester and Angie Gustafson, Stanley, N.D.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Church of the Nativity.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, with an 8 p.m. prayer service, Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo.
Walter Koeppe
Walter A. Koeppe, 80, East Grand Forks, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, in Bismarck.
Walter Alfred Koeppe was born April 10, 1920, the son of Paul and Anna (Lind) Koeppe, in Crookston. He attended school in Crookston and in Grand Forks. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946. He married
Ethel Piker on May 26, 1943, in East Grand Forks. He worked for the Grand Forks Herald for 30 years as a stereotyper and at the North Dakota Mill and Elevator.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Susan (Jack) Wilborn, Bismarck; sons, Mark (Gaylene), Kamsack, Sask., and Jay (Debbie), Hayti, S.D.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, East Grand Forks.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Resurrection Cemetery. (Stennes, East Grand Forks).
Margaret Olson
NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. -- Margaret A. Olson, 87, Rapid City, S.D., formerly of New Rockford, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, in Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Margaret Antoinette Winberg was born May 28, 1912, the daughter of Antoine and Tressa (Greitl) Winberg, in Cathay, N.D. She attended school in Barlow, N.D. She moved to Pierre, S.D., where she worked at Liberty Cafe and the local liquor store. She married
Leonard Olson in June 1959, in Pierre. He died in 1991. In 1995, she moved to Rapid City.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia Wenzel, New Rockford, and Joan Bommersbach, Rapid City; stepdaughters, Sheryl Gardello, Las Vegas, and Diane Christy, Visalia, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy Holth, Carrington, N.D., Fred Holth, Port Angeles, Wash., Lewis Holth, of Washington, and Norman Holth, of California.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Friday, Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.
Visitation: 9 a.m. until time of service Friday, in the funeral home.
Burial: Barlow Cemetery.
Leroi Eggleston
HAMAR, N.D. -- Leroi Eggleston, 31, Hamar, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at his families farm home, Warwick, N.D.
Leroi Arthur Eggleston was born May 20, 1969, the son of Leslie and Joyce (Jacobson) Eggleston, in Devils Lake. He grew up and graduated from high school in Warwick. He worked construction for Alan Gleason Construction, Tolna, N.D.
He is survived by his parents; sisters, Leslie (Alan) Gleason, Tolna, and Marcie (Duane Fossen) Vacura, Devils Lake; and his grandmother, Agnes Jacobson, Warwick.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gothard Jacobson, and Cliff and Dora Eggleston.
Services: Private memorial services will be held at Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake.
Burial: Warwick Cemetery.
