Orlyne Prince
BEMIDJI -- Orlyne F. Prince, 82, Bemidji, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in North Country Regional Hospital, Bemidji.
Orlyne France Prince was born Sept. 13, 1918, the son of Fred and Nellie (Leach) Prince, in McClusky, N.D. He moved with his family to the Wilton, Minn., area, where he attended school. He worked in the woods logging for the Rognlien Mill in Wilton. He married
Anna Klemisch on May 13, 1939, in Bemidji. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked in the steel mills of Duluth for a year and then they moved to the Wilton area. He worked in the woods through the '50s, for Bemidji Blacktop in the '60s and then drove truck through the '70s, retiring in the early '80s.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Gale (Sandy) and Ricky (Margaret), both of Anchorage, Alaska, Terry (Shirley), Alan and Ronnie (Karen), all of Fairbanks, Alaska, Glenn (Patti), Sutton, Alaska, and Doug (Carmen) and Steve (Diane), both of Bemidji; a daughter, Shelly (Brian) Christiansen, Bemidji; 28 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Isabelle Masterson, Minneapolis, and Marie Lindell, Duluth.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis; a daughter, Sherry Price; two grandsons; three sisters; and three brothers.
Memorial services: 2 p.m. Friday, Lakewood Community Church, Bemidji.
Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji. Memorials are suggested to the building fund of Lakewood Community Church (Olson-Schwartz, Bemidji).
Russel Nixon
DEVILS LAKE -- Russel L. Nixon, 85, Devils Lake, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, in Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
Russel L. Nixon was born Dec. 7, 1914, in Nixon Township, Ramsey County, N.D. He attended school in the Southam, N.D., area. He farmed and raised cattle and sheep. He married
Gladys Nelson on June 29, 1936, in Devils Lake, where they lived until they moved to Southam in 1942. He retired in 1999.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Gwendolyn (Kenny) Mukomela, Marshall, Minn.; sons, Charles "Chuck" (Jan), Phoenix, Russel "Pat" (Beverly), Baltimore, and Terry, William, and James, all of Devils Lake; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Olive (Vernon) Hilgers, ¨Crary, N.D., and Cathryn (John) Cowan and Carol (Parker) Hodgin, both of Bow, Wash.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. rosary and vigil service, Gilbertson Funeral Home, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
Laura Krier
HATTON, N.D. -- Laura E. Krier, 80, Tri-County Nursing Home, Hatton, died Saturday in Hatton.
Laura E. Gutzman was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Odessa, Minn., where she attended school. She attended high school in Ortonville, Minn. She married
Ervin Krier on Jan. 28, 1938, in Milbank, S.D. They lived in Milbank until he entered the service during World War II and she lived with her parents. They then moved to Moorhead. She worked for Corwin-Churchill, Fargo, as a pastry cook and at Eddies Coffee Shop in Moorhead. She worked as a housekeeper at North Dakota State University and also for FM Vending. Ervin Krier died Jan. 13, 1993.
She is survived by a daughter, Gay White, Fargo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church (Hanson-Runsvold, Fargo).
Robert Duerr
LANGDON, N.D. -- Robert Duerr Jr., 29, Langdon, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000.
Robert Duerr was born Jan. 26, 1971, the son of Robert and Joyce (Johnson) Duerr, in Devils Lake. He graduated from high school in Langdon in 1989. He attended Mayville State College and Aaker's Business College, receiving a degree in microcomputer accounting. He moved to Houston, where he worked for Best Buy stores as an assistant manager. He returned to Langdon and operated KJ's Pizza. He married
Amy Wirtz on Aug. 15, 1998.
He is survived by his parents; and father-in-law, Alvin Wirtz, Grand Forks.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Carroll and Grace (Thiessen) Johnson and Alfred and Dorothy (Buntjer) Duerr.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, United Lutheran Church, Langdon.
Visitation: After 3 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7: 30 prayer service, Brooks Funeral Home, Langdon.
Mary Cothren
Mary Cothren, 57, Rocky Mount, Mo., formerly of Grand Forks, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in Jefferson City, Mo.
Mary Ann Butler was born Jan. 14, 1943, the daughter of John and Barbara (Kuntz) Butler, in Devils Lake. She grew up in Grand Forks. She married
John Cothren on Oct. 15, 1960, in Warren, Minn. She lived in Independence, Mo., before moving to Eldon, Mo., in 1978. She retired from FASCO as a Q.A. supervisor.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Terri Murry, Holden, Mo., and Pam Owens, Barnett, Mo.; seven grandchildren; her mother, Grand Forks; brothers, John and Richard, both of Grand Forks, Steven, Canon City, Colo., and Daniel, Odessa, Mo.; and a sister, Susan Dryer, Eldon.
She was preceded in death by sons, Chuck and Mike; a grandson; and her father.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eldon.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7: 30 p.m. rosary, Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

Grace Jodock
NORTHWOOD, N.D. -- Grace H. Jodock, 86, Northwood, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, in Deaconess Health Center, Northwood.
Grace H. Hansen was born April 3, 1914, the daughter of George and Carrie (Sanden) Hansen, in Mekinock, N.D. She attended school in Mekinock and Gilby, N.D. She graduated from Mayville (N.D.) Normal College. She taught school in Grace Township, N.D. She married
Harry Jodock on Oct. 2, 1938, in Northwood. They lived and farmed in Lind Township, N.D. Harry Jodock died Oct. 18, 1974. She moved to Northwood in 1979.
She is survived by sons, Darrell (Janice), St. Peter, Minn., and Brian (Alane), Northwood; a daughter, Karen (Cliff) Miller, Danville, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Miriam Overland, Alice Hansen, Viola Suby, and Frances Herlickson.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Thursday, Evangelical Lutheran Church, Northwood.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today, Bilden Funeral Home, Northwood.

Lester Drechsel
CROOKSTON -- Lester "Drex" Drechsel, 67, Crookston, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at home.
Lester E. Drechsel was born Dec. 29, 1932, the son of Henry and Emma (Rocholl) Drechsel, in Fergus Falls, Minn., where he graduated from high school in 1951. He attended Bemidji State College and received a bachelor of science degree in 1955. He married
Joyce "Snookie" Danielson on May 18, 1955, in Moorhead. They moved to Parkers Prairie, Minn., where he taught and was the head football coach. In 1957, he joined the U.S. Army. He returned and they moved to Ada, Minn. He was the football coach and athletic director for Ada High School. Two years later, he joined the U.S. Army. He returned to Ada. He did post-graduate work at Moorhead State College. In 1971 they moved to Crookston, where he worked as a teacher and head football coach for Central High School. He retired in 1991. He worked for Lafayette High School, Red Lake Falls, Minn., as a football coach from 1993 to 2000.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Kristopher, Chantilly, Va., and Jon (Sonya), Moorhead; two grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Soronen, Fergus Falls; and a brother Albert, Wyoming, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold; and a sister, Dorothy Roeder.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Lafayette High School, Red Lake Falls, and 2 p.m. Friday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Crookston.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before the service at both locations.
Military rites: Crookston Veterans Council. Memorials are suggested to Lester E. Drechsel Memorial Fund.
