Ray Kelly
DEVILS LAKE -- Ray A. Kelly, 92, Devils Lake, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, in the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake.
Ray Ardell Kelly was born Aug. 30, 1908, the son of John and Grace (Chance) Kelly, in White Earth, N.D. He grew up and attended school in Oberon, N.D. He married
Naomi DeForest on May 22, 1932. They lived in Warwick, N.D. In 1942, they moved to Devils Lake. Ray owned and operated a business in the freight trucking industry. Naomi Kelly died Aug. 27, 1997.
He is survived by a daughter, Evonne Berg, Devils Lake; a son, Darrel, Reno, Nev.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roger, Devils Lake.
He was preceded in death by a son, Forrest; brothers, Cecil and Kenneth; and a sister, Iris.

Vesta Bolstad
EDMORE, N.D. -- Vesta Bolstad, 92, Minot, formerly of Edmore, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, in Good Samaritan Nursing Home, New Town, N.D.
Vesta Claire Graham was born Nov. 13, 1907, the daughter of George and Faye (Wagner) Graham, in Edmore, where she graduated from high school. She attended Mayville State College, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in several schools in the Edmore area. She married
Merton Dodge. She married
Simon Bolstad. They farmed in the Edmore area. They moved to Renton, Wash., where she taught school. She lived in Woodinville, Wash., with her grandson, Dan (Tracey) Overby.
She is survived by children, Merton Dodge, Merced, Calif., and Faye Overby, Minot; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Don, Devils Lake and Dorcas Quam, Tolna, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Virginia Hjelmstad; and brothers, Gene, Mac, and Franklin.
Memorial Services: Renton, Wash.
Burial: Renton, Wash. (Johnson, Parshall, N.D.).
Otis Larson
LISBON, N.D. -- Otis C. Larson, 96, Lisbon, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Parkside Nursing Home-Lisbon, where he had lived since 1992.
Otis C. Larson was born March 12, 1904, the son of Olavus and Amanda (Peterson) Larson, in Milnor, N.D., where he attended school. He married
Julia Sanders on May 28, 1931, in Lisbon. They lived and farmed near Lisbon. They moved into Lisbon in 1972. Julia Larson died Oct. 18, 1997.
He is survived by sons, Otis (Sandi), Morgan, Utah, and Orlin, Henderson, Nev.; daughters, Verna (Billy) Rice, Ada, Okla., Nadine (Leonard) Anderson, Visalia, Calif., Grace (Francis) Ophaug, Larimore, N.D., and Burl (Dwight) Dick, Hastings, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Sadie Olson, Port Orchard, Wash., and Helen (Einor) Tweit, Miles City, Mont.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mervyne Olson; brothers, Herman, Harold, William, Clyde and Clayton; and sisters, Hazel, Hilder, Helen and Mabel.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, First United Methodist Church, Lisbon.
Visitation: 2: 30 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon.
Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.
Marion Smaaladen
McVILLE, N.D. -- Marion Smaaladen, 81, Aneta, N.D., died Wednesday Oct. 11, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Marion Clarissa Lykken was born Jan. 30, 1919, the daughter of Peter and Cora (Hilden) Lykken, in Aneta, where she graduated from high school in 1936. She married
Earl Smaaladen on Nov. 25, 1941, in Aneta. They lived and farmed in the Aneta area.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter LoAnn (Gordon) Nelson, Devils Lake; a son, Kim (Linda), Mekinock, N.D.; four grandchildren; and sisters, Laura Petersen, Salem, Ore., and Mildred Larson, Petersburg, N.D.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Melvin and Kenneth.
Services: 11 a.m. today, Sundahl Lutheran Church, Aneta.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Logan Lutheran Cemetery

Elizabeth Cobler
ROLETTE, N.D. -- Elizabeth K. Cobler, 85, Rolette, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Presentation Care Center, Rolette.
Elizabeth K. Fox was born Sept. 2, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Johanna (Larsen) Fox, in Rolette, where she graduated from high school in 1934. She married
Floyd Cobler in 1935. They lived in Rolette, Tacoma, Wash., Leeds, S.D., and Kalispell, Mont. They returned to Rolette, where she worked for the Rolette Community Hospital. She retired in 1980. Floyd Cobler died in 1979.
She is survived by sons, Floyd Jr. (Marlene), Rolette, Robert "Bobby", Sundance, Wyo., and Bruce, Cheyenne, Wyo.; a daughter, Joan (Keith) Boucher, Drake, N.D.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Oblander, Billings, Mont.
She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Services: 10 a.m. today, Valle Lutheran Church, Rolette.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.

Edward Wolsky
KENSAL, N.D. -- Edward R. Wolsky, 82, Kensal, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, N.D.
Edward Richard Wolsky was born March 9, 1918, the son of Ferdinand Sr. and Louise (Braasch) Wolsky, in Kensal, where he graduated from high school in 1936. He married
Alice Schroeder on June 9, 1940, in Bordulac, N.D. He farmed, owned a service station and a TV repair business. For 10 years, he worked for Auction City in Valley City, N.D. He retired in 1979 and moved back to Kensal.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Jo Ann Larson, Valley City, Mell'O'Dee (Carl) Gaber, East Grand Forks, and Patricia (Gary) Sorem, Olympia, Wash.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Ferdinand Jr. (Dorothy), Buckley, Wash.; and sisters, Minnie Stober, Renton, Wash., Esther (Eugene) McCartney, Mesa, Ariz., and Dora (Dr. Clarence) Martin, Whitefish, Mont.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild.
Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Monday, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kensal.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 8: 30 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. to noon Monday, all in Evan Funeral Home, Carrington.

Jacques Boucher
ROLETTE, N.D. -- Jacques R. Boucher, 20, Rolette, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in St. Andrew's Health Center, Bottineau, N.D., from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Jacques Ray Boucher was born Sept. 16, 1980, the son of Daniel and Susan (Johnson) Boucher, in Rolette, where he graduated from high school in 1999. He attended Minot State University-Bottineau. He worked on the family farm, for Town and Country Standard, and for Jerry's Jack and Jill, Bottineau.
He is survived by his parents, Susan, Rolette and Daniel (Brenda), Rolette; a brother, Tucker; grandparents, Mary and Oliver Boe, Perth, N.D., Norman Johnson, Bisbee, N.D., and Romeo and Mary Rose Boucher, Rolette; great-grandparents, Harry "Keg" Abercrombie, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Rose Menard, Rolette; stepgrandparents, Richard and Claudia Hunt, Rock Lake, N.D.; and stepgreat-grandmother, Gladys Gebur, Devils Lake.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Florence Abercrombie, William Menard, Oscar and Arabell Johnson, and Emil and Emiline Boucher.
Services: 3 p.m. today, Rolette High School gymnasium.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. today, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rolette, and one hour before services in the school.
