Dixon Bartholomew
Dixon J. Bartholomew, 72, Grand Forks, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Valley Eldercare Center, Medical Park.
Dixon Bartholomew was born April 4, 1928, the son of Ray and Gladys (Thompson) Bartholomew, in Baldwin, Wis., where he grew up and attended school. He married
Mardelle Vig on Oct. 9, 1948, in Grand Forks. They lived in Minneapolis for a short time and later returned to Grand Forks. He worked for the Great Northern Railway. He owned and operated Standard Oil and Gulf Oil outlets in Grand Forks. He worked for Wilcox and Malm as the service manager for 25 years. He was also a Zamboni driver at the Purpur arena.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Branden (Laurie), Grand Forks; four grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia DeMaster, Ocala, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen; and a sister, Colleen McKee.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Augustana Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, with a 3: 30 p.m. prayer service, Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
Beronica LaRocque
Beronica LaRocque, the infant daughter of Laurie LaRocque, Dunseith, N.D., was born and died on Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, in Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility, Belcourt, N.D.
Beronica Alexis Ann LaRocque was born Oct. 27, 2000, the daughter of Laurie LaRocque, in Belcourt. She was baptized in the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her mother; grandmother, Irene Gladue, Dunseith; great-grandparents, Margaret and Alex LaRocque and Cecelia Belgarde, all of Dunseith.
She was preceded in death by grandfather, Patrick LaRocque; and great-grandfather, Alfred Belgarde.
Services: Were held in Dunseith.
Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Dunseith (Keplin, Rolette).
Agnes Bryl
DEVILS LAKE -- Agnes M. Bryl, 80, Devils Lake, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, in Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
Agnes Marie Meyers was born Dec. 21, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Lettie (Traynor) Meyers, in Wolford, N.D. She moved with her parents to Cando, N.D., where she attended school. They then moved to Devils Lake, where she graduated from high school. She married
Ted Bryl on Nov. 28, 1944, in Devils Lake. They farmed near Garske, N.D., and in 1948 bought a farm near Devils Lake. In 1974, they retired and moved into Devils Lake.
She is survived by her husband; a brother, Jim (Beverly), Devils Lake; and a sister, Colleen (Walter) Broden, Mesa, Ariz.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake.
Visitation: Noon to 5 p.m. today and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with a 3 p.m. rosary and scripture service, Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
Mabel Iverson
Mabel I. Iverson, 84, 101 N. 11th St., died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at home.
Mabel I. Montgomery was born Dec. 6, 1915, the daughter of David and Hattie (Bissonnett) Montgom-
ery, in Laurel, Neb. She grew up and attended school in Nebraska before moving to Grand Forks. She married
Stanley Iverson in March 1939, in Crookston. He died in 1954.
She is survived by sons, Ronald (Donna), Chicago, and Arnold, East Grand Forks; daughters, Janice Larson, Grand Forks, and Joyce Lee, Jamestown; many grand-¨children; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Darlene Martin, East Grand Forks, and Elnora Helms, in South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert; and a daughter, Sharlene Foster.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Thursday, Amundson Funeral Home.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
Warren Larson
Warren W. Larson, 86, Grand Junction, Colo., formerly of Grand Forks, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in IHS of Mesa Manor.
Warren W. Larson was born Nov. 24, 1913, the son of Bert and Louise (Hillison) Larson, in Sioux Falls, S.D., where he graduated from high school. He attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a real estate developer and in banking. He married
Beverly Hancock in 1938, in Grand Forks. She died in 1963.
He is survived by a son, D. Robert, Houston; a daughter, Victoria Frank, Vail, Colo.; a granddaughter; and a brother, Pat, in California.
Services: Will be in Graceland Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa.
Burial: Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, PO Box 3115, Grand Junction, CO 81502 (Callahan-Edfast, in Colorado).
Ralph Siewert
Ralph Siewert, 83, Glendale, Ariz., died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, in Glendale.
Ralph Oliver Siewert was born and grew up on a farm near Thompson, N.D. He moved to East Grand Forks in 1949. He was a carpenter and mechanic. He retired as a heavy industrial mining equipment repairman.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie; sons, David, Springfield, Mo., and Dennis, Phoenix; daughters-in-law, Jeanine and Gayle; four grandsons; a great-grandson; a brother, Reed; and a sister, Lorraine Kroocmo.
Services: 9: 30 a.m. Friday, Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, Glendale.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in the mortuary.
Myrtle Dalzell
WALHALLA, N.D. -- Myrtle Dalzell, 89, Walhalla, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, in Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla.
Myrtle Halverson was born Oct. 10, 1911, the daughter of Carl and Rachel Halverson, in Boyd, Minn. She graduated from high school in Walhalla. She married
Harvey Dalzell on Feb. 7, 1931, in Walhalla, where they lived until 1943. They moved to Cavalier, Langdon, and Rock Lake, N.D., returning to Walhalla. Harvey Dalzell died Aug. 20, 1983. She was a charter member of the United Lutheran Church, Langdon.
She is survived by a daughter, Iona (Richard) Nickeson, Wellesley, Mass.; a son, Haldean (Bonnie), Sherborn, Mass.; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and five step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Orten, Morris and Kenneth; and a sister, Charlene Mosolf.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Walhalla Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nelson Funeral Home, Walhalla, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Walhalla Hillside Cemetery.
