Kenneth Skinner
Kenneth G. Skinner, 64, 1808 Continental Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Kenneth Gilbert Skinner was born May 13, 1936, the son of Searl and Adelia (Franklin) Skinner, in Donaldson, Minn. He graduated from high school in Kennedy, Minn., in 1955. He worked on farms near Donaldson. He married
Yvonne Thompson on Aug. 30, 1969, in Lake Bronson, Minn. He lived in Karlstad, Minn., and Cavalier, N.D., before moving to Grand Forks in 1984. He worked for Millers Bakery.
He is survived by sons, Jeff and Larry, both of Grand Forks; daughters, Joyce (Larry) Martinez, Thief River Falls, Penny Horseman, Brainerd, Minn., and Candy Toone, Missoula, Mont.; four grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Mary Jane), Shelby, Ohio, Richard (Judy), Pembina, N.D., Melvin, Hastings, Minn., Orville, Karlstad, and Dale (Linda), Hartsville, S.C.; and sisters, Marie (Marvin) Johnson, International Falls, Minn., Lois (Merlyn) Winters, Lancaster, Minn., and Stella (Ervin) Gorsuch, Hallock, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Clifford and Melford.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: Two hours before services in the church.
Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery, Donaldson (Amundson, Grand Forks).
Willis Anderson
Willis H. Anderson, 79, Sun City West, Ariz., formerly of Grand Forks, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, in Del Webb Hospital, Sun City West.
Willis Haines Anderson was born May 5, 1921, the son of Harry Anderson and Winnie Haines, in Winterset, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University. He lived in Lewiston, Idaho. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married
Marjorie Cowden on Dec. 2, 1956, in Winterset. In 1959, he moved to Grand Forks, where he owned the Ben Franklin Store. He moved to Sun City West in 1985. He owned Bonanza restaurants in Fargo and in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sally (Sterling) Morris, Winterset; a son, Mark, Vancouver, Wash.; and a sister, Alice (George) Young, Paonia, Colo.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, First United Methodist Church, Winterset.
Visitation: Noon to 8 p.m. Friday, in the church.
Burial: Winterset Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, Sun City West (Collins, Winterset).
Robert Patterson
Robert L. "Pat" Patterson, 67, East Grand Forks, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, in Valley Memorial Elder Care, Grand Forks.
Robert L. Patterson was born April 13, 1933, the son of Robert and Helen (Foss) Patterson, in East Grand Forks, where he graduated from high school in 1951. He married
Barbara Sirek on Aug. 25, 1955, in East Grand Forks. He worked for American Crystal Sugar Co. for 32 years. He retired in 1985. He was a charter member of the Valley Golf Association, the Blue Line Club, and Eagles Lodge 350, East Grand Forks.
He is survived by daughters, Gayle (Ray) King, East Grand Forks, Debra (Gordon) Olson, Temecula, Calif., and Nancy (Bradley) Scholler, Grand Forks; seven grandchildren; his mother, Brea, Calif.; brothers, Ronald (Sharon), Anaheim, Calif., and Richard (Pricilla), Temecula; and a sister, Cheryl (Dave) Blankmeier, Yorba Linda, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife; and his father.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks.
Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, with a 4 p.m. prayer service, Stennes Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks.
Adeline Rundhaug
MICHIGAN, N.D. -- Adeline Rundhaug, 63, Michigan, died of cancer Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in Lakota (N.D.) Nursing Home.
Adeline Kratochvil was born July 29, 1937, the daughter of William and Adeline (Swartz) Kratochvil. She grew up and attended school in Lankin, N.D. She married
Tilford Rundhaug on July 29, 1958. They lived and farmed on the Rundhaug family farm. They moved to Fairdale, N.D. They raised Henrietta Moberg's four children. Tilford Rundhaug died in March 1992. She worked for Bordins, Grafton, N.D., the Nekoma (N.D.) ADM site, Fairdale School as a cook and the Edmore (N.D.) Nursing Home. She retired in 1990. She moved to Michigan in 1992.
She is survived by children, Linda (Henry) Mohagen, South Naknek, Alaska, Kenneth (Marlys) Moberg and Richard Moberg, both of Grafton, Shirley (Jameson) Flom, Michigan, and Allan (Janet) Moberg, Litchfield, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Stenerson, Adams, N.D.; and a brother-in-law, Orville Iverson, Grand Forks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Henrietta Moberg and Irene Iverson; brothers, William and Duane; a sister-in-law, Karen Kratochvil; and brothers-in-law, James Paukert, Clifford Moberg and Ernest Stenerson.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Saturday, Michigan Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Tollefson Funeral Home, Park River, N.D., and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Aadalen Lutheran Cemetery, Fairdale.
Thomas Davidson, Sr.
Thomas M. "Tom" Davidson, Sr., 79, Chairman of the Board of the American State Bank & Trust Company, passed away early Saturday morning, November 11, 2000, at his home in Williston.
His funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon, November 14, 2000, at Two O'clock in the First Lutheran Church, Williston.
Rev. Dean Larson and Rev. Joel Westby will officiate, and the interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Williston.
Thomas McClellan Davidson was born October 17, 1921, in Williston to W.S., Sr., and Olive (Evans) Davidson. He was to spend his time in Williston, graduating from Williston High School in the Class of 1939 before attending the University of Montana and the University of North Dakota.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Strand in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 2, 1961. They established their home in Williston and have lived here through these many succeeding years.
Tom loved ranching. From 1929 to 1965, the Davidson ranch was operated under the name "Long S Cattle Company, " located on the Ft. Berthold Indian Reservation. He took over the operation for his father in the late 1950s. In 1965, the Cattle Company was moved after purchasing a ranch near Big Horn, Montana, which Tom operated through the date of his passing.
Tom also assumed the Presidency of the American State Bank & Trust Company in 1969. From that point forward, Tom was the heart and soul of the family bank that his father first became associated with in 1906. Tom began working at the family bank in his teenage years.
Tom's proudest moments were his marriage to Shirley, the birth of his two children, and later the birth of his four grandchildren. His family was always first and foremost in his life.
Tom is survived by his wife, Shirley, one daughter, Tamara Sogard and her husband, Patrick and their children, Oliver, Barrett, Isabella and Thomas, one son, Thomas Davidson, Jr. of Minneapolis and one brother John R. Davidson of Billings, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, W.S. Davidson, Jr.
Tom was dedicated to his community and went to extraordinary lengths to support it and also was widely known in ranching circles in eastern Montana.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Elks and Moose Lodges. Tom was also a Board member of the UND Alumni Association, a Director of the North Dakota Stockman's Association and was active in the American National Cattleman's Association.
For those interested, the family suggests memorials to the T.M. Davidson Scholarship Fund or the Mercy Medical Center's Cancer Treatment Center.
Friends may call at the Everson Funeral Home, Williston, Monday from 9 o'clock, AM until 7 o'clock, PM and Tuesday from 9 o'clock AM until noon and at the church for the hour preceding the funeral.
Clarice Leiberg
Clarice R. Leiberg, 79, 110 Cherry St., died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, in Altru Hospital.
Clarice Ruth Burtness was born April 16, 1921, the daughter of Oscar and Tonita (Bratlie) Burtness, in Antler, N.D. She grew up and attended school in Mekinock, N.D. She married
Earl Leiberg on Dec. 2, 1944, in Mekinock. They lived in Manvel, N.D. She worked at the American Legion of Manvel, as a custodian at the Manvel School and with the Foster Grandparents of Grand Forks. Earl Leiberg died Dec. 21, 1979.
She is survived by a son, Marvin, Grand Forks; a daughter, Bonnie (Richard) Vacura, Mission, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Orville (Mae), Coarsegold, Calif., and Arlan (Dorothy), Murrieta, Calif.; and sisters, Lila Samuelson and Betty (Bernie) Hughey, both of Belleville, Mich.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William; and a sister, Evelyn Lowen.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Manvel.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a 6: 30 p.m. prayer service, Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Sunnywood Gardens Cemetery, Grand Forks.
