Earl Anderson
McVILLE, N.D. -- Earl T. Anderson, 88, McVille, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, in Harlingen, Texas.
Earl T. Anderson was born Dec. 3, 1911, the son of Ed and Thea Anderson, in Aneta, N.D. He graduated from high school in McVille. He attended North Dakota State University. He married
Gladys Bedford on Oct. 6, 1940, in Fargo. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as the Postmaster in McVille. He joined his brother, Kermit, in a family business starting the Anderson Market, in McVille. In 1948, he purchased the grocery store in Elbow Lake, Minn. In 1953, they moved to Fargo, where he started OK Tire with his bother-in-law, Palmer Haugen. In 1955, he returned to McVille where he took over the Anderson Market. In 1963, he and Robert Bunde opened a Super Value store in Cooperstown, N.D. He then retired. They spent winters in Harlingen. Gladys Anderson died in 1985.
He is survived by daughters, Carolle (Neil) Dietrich, St. Cloud, and Gayle (Ron) Anderson, Pekin, N.D.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; and two sisters.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, McVille Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: McVille Cemetery.
June Litzinger
DEVILS LAKE -- June A. Litzinger, 72, Devils Lake, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, in Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
June Ann Webster was born Feb. 4, 1928, the daughter of Milton and Maude (Wright) Webster, in Devils Lake. She grew up and graduated from high school in Churchs Ferry, N.D. She married
John Litzinger on Jan. 22, 1946, in Leeds, N.D. They lived in Devils Lake. She worked for the Ramsey County Court House, County Treasurers Office from 1964 to 1981. She was a charter member of St. Gerard circle.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Jeanne (Jay) Klemetsrud, Devils Lake; a son, James "Jim, " Eagan, Minn.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Owen, Chad Ford, Pa., and Wilton (Shirley), Churchs Ferry.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with a 5 p.m. rosary and scripture service, Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
Lucile Heiden
BEMIDJI -- Lucile Heiden, 93, Bemidji, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Gladys Lucile Peters was born Sept. 21, 1907, the daughter of William and Elva (Dally) Peters, in Helga Township, Hubbard County, Minn., where she attended school. She married
Clarence Peters in 1925, in Bemidji. They lived in Helga Township. She married
Ted Heiden in 1945, in Sisseton, S.D. They lived in Bemidji, where she worked for Bemidji Woolen Mills for several years.
She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Lukins, Poynette, Wis.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and sisters, Dorothy Gladen, Bemidji, and Joyce (Art) Gladen, Bemidji.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lavonne Henderson; a stepdaughter, Pearl Erickson; a brother, Claus; and sons-in-law, Bernard Henderson and Dale Lukins.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today, and one hour before services in the funeral home.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Bemidji.
Glenn Johnson
HOOPLE, N.D. -- Glenn Johnson, 69, Hoople, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, in St. Ansgar's Health Center, Park River, N.D.
Glenn J. Johnson was born Jan. 1, 1931, the son of Edward and Josephine (Knutson) Johnson, in Grafton, N.D. He graduated from high school in Hoople. He farmed with his father until 1952, when he served in the Korean War. He was discharged in 1954 and returned home. He took over the family farm. He married
Betty Harlow on July 11, 1960, in Drayton, N.D. They lived in Nash, N.D. In 1964, they moved to Hoople. He worked for Halifax Security Service, Nekoma, N.D., from 1973-1975. In 1979, they moved to Hoople.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Suzanne (David) Brener, Fargo, and Mary (Dennis) Monson and Lynda (Scott) Kern, both of Grafton; six grandchildren; and sisters, Elaine (Hilary) Bialke, Park Rapids, N.D., and Norma (Roland) Pavek, Eden Prairie, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Eleanor Thompson.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Zion Lutheran Church, Hoople.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Tollefson Funeral Home, Grafton, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Military Rites: Hoople American Legion Post No. 240, Hoople. Memorials are suggested to St. Ansgar's Health Center, Park River, or to Roger Maris Cancer Center, Fargo.
Edmund Chaput
WALHALLA, N.D. -- Edmund Chaput, 82, Walhalla, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Edmund Chaput was born Feb. 18, 1918, the son of Honore and Bella (Lesperance) Chaput, in Walhalla, N.D. He grew up and attended school in the Popular Grove, N.D., area. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married
Geraldine Starman on Nov. 5, 1952, in Blooming Prairie, Minn. They lived and farmed in the Walhalla area and spent winters in Long Beach, Calif.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Mary (Larry) Smith, Bismarck, Carol (Randy) Anderson, Walhalla, Sharon (Rick) Bothun, Owatonna, Minn.; eight grandchildren; a brother, Henry (Clara), Walhalla.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Alexina Lepire and Jean Dunham; and an infant brother.
Services: 10: 30 a.m., Friday, St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla.
Visitation: 6: 30 to 7: 30 p.m. Thursday, with a 7: 30 p.m. rosary, in the church.
Burial: St. Boniface Cemetery, Walhalla.
Military rites: Bartlette-Resler Post No. 62, Walhalla American Legion (Nelson, Walhalla).
Burnie Seaverson
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Burnie D. Seaverson, 77, Thief River Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, in Convalescent Nursing Care Unit, Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Burnie Dloris Seaverson was born Feb. 24, 1923, the son of John and Clara (Sevre) Seaverson, in Sanders Township, Pennington County, Minn., where he attended school. He joined the U.S. Navy on July 25, 1944. He received the American Theatre Medal, Victory Medal, and European Theatre Medal. He was discharged on June 4, 1946. He married
Alice Jensen on Dec. 22, 1950, in Webster, S.D. They moved to Thief River Falls. He worked for Peterson-Biddick, as a truck driver. He then worked for Soo Line Bridge Gang. He drove truck for L.B. Hartz for more than 30 years. Alice Seaverson died Nov. 6, 1997.
He is survived by children, Bruce (LaVonne), Middle River, Minn., Bonnie Toulouse, Minneapolis, Valerie (Chet) Engleman, Thief River Falls, and Warren, Lake George, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Roger; a grandson; brothers, Percy and Lloyd; and sisters, Helen Forsberg, Verna Sjolsvold, Pearl Klemmetson and Doris Seaverson.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Friday, Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Landstad Cemetery, Sanders Township.
