Lena Daniels
BEMIDJI -- Lena E. Daniels, 102, Bemidji, formerly of Remer, Minn., died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, in Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji.
Lena Elizabeth Levens was born July 1, 1898, the daughter of Paul and Lena Levens, in Superior, Wis. She married
Paul Daniels on April 14, 1915, in Superior. They lived in Aloise, Wis., until 1919, when they moved to Remer, where they farmed. She also worked as a midwife.
She is survived by sons, Clarence (Maude), Sioux Falls, S.D., and Junior (Marilyn), Remer; a daughter, Norene Bartell, Remer; daughters-in-law, Grace Daniels, Bemidji, Maude Daniels, Sioux Falls, Wilma Daniels and Dorothy Daniels, both of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Marilyn Daniels, Remer; 23 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Ernest, John and Albert; two grandsons; a great-grandson; and brothers and sisters.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. today, Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
Visitation: One hour before services in the funeral home.
Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Remer.
Elsie Kerle
HILLSBORO, N.D. -- Elsie Kerle, 89, Hillsboro, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, in Hillsboro Medical Center Hospital.
Elsie Wildeman was born July 30, 1911, the daughter of Carl Sr. and Madeline (Bohy) Wildeman, in Trenton, N.J. She grew up in Garfield, N.J., and attended school in Passaic, N.J. She married
Paul Kerle on June 25, 1930, in Passaic. They lived in Garfield, where she worked at the Presto Lock Co. After her retirement in 1980, they moved to Whiting, N.J. In 1996, they moved to Hillsboro. Paul Kerle died in 1996.
She is survived by a brother, Carl (Lois), Hillsboro.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Wednesday, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Hillsboro.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today, Wildeman Funeral Home, Hillsboro, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro.
Oscar Lilleoien
Oscar Lilleoien, 82, Grand Forks, formerly of McVille, N.D., died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at home.
Oscar Lilleoien was born Sept. 16, 1918, the son of Ole and Mathilda (Bunde) Lilleoien, in Central Township, Nelson County, N.D., where he attended school. He farmed until retiring in 1979. He then spent summers at Lake of the Woods, Minn., and winters in Arizona.
He is survived by a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarice; and a sister, Bernice.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, United Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Center Church Cemetery, McVille. Memorials are suggested to Center Cemetery
Association, McVille (Stanley-Iverson, McVille).
Louise Sather
CROOKSTON -- Louise M. Sather, 80, Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Crookston, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in Albuquerque.
Louise M. Dondaneau was born April 13, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Remmear) Dondaneau, in Brooks, Minn. She graduated from high school in Crookston and from secretary school in Minneapolis.
She is survived by a son, Jerry (Vicki), Albuquerque; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Sather in 1985.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brooks.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Johnson Funeral Service Chapel, Red Lake Falls, Minn. and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Terrebonne, Minn.
Grace Hammer
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Grace Hammer, 72, Thief River Falls, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, in Valley Elder Care, Grand Forks.
Grace Evangeline Dahlen was born April 11, 1928, the daughter of Henry and Caroline (Iverson) Dahlen, in Grygla, Minn. She lived in Star Township, Pennington County, Minn., where she attended school. She attended school in Crookston. She moved with her family to Thief River Falls. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Ewing and Dr. Snyder from 1946 to 1949. She married
Arnold Hammer on Sept. 24, 1949. They lived in Thief River Falls before moving to Smiley Township, Pennington County.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Ruth (The Rev. Gary) Halverson, Karlstad, Minn.; sons, John (Delaine) and Lynn (Carol), both of Thief River Falls, and Dale (Kathy), Grand Forks; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Erling and Roy; and a sister, Alice Skreland.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Friday, Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Bethany Lutheran Church.
Burial: Will follow the prayer services in Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
Ingvald Aamold
MAYVILLE, N.D. -- Ingvald B. Aamold, 77, Mayville, formerly of Portland, N.D., died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, in Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, where he had lived since 1996.
Ingvald B. Aamold was born March 13, 1923, the son of Oscar and Sina (Svaleson) Aamold, in Portland, where he attended school. He joined the Army Air Force in 1943, serving in World War II. He was discharged in 1945. He returned to Portland, where he worked for Farmers Union Oil for 26 years. He married
Alvia Craig on June 22, 1974, in Cody, Wyo. They returned to Portland and moved to Park City, Mont., in 1979. They returned to Portland in 1984.
He is survived by his wife; a brother, Mickel (Mary Lou), Mayville; half sisters, Judy (Dick) Beck, Portland, and Lorraine (Allen) Strom, Graham, Wash.; half brothers, Rickey, Portland, and Marnard, California; and stepbrothers, Ervin Higdem, Portland, and Joe Higdem, Wheatland, Wyo.
He was preceded in death by a half brother, Bobby; and stepbrothers, Ted and Lawrence Higdem.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aurdal Lutheran Church, Portland.
Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. family service, Baker Funeral Home, Mayville.
Burial: Bruflat Cemetery, Portland.
