Inga Brown
BEMIDJI -- Inga Brown, 96, Bemidji, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in Woodrest Nursing Home, Walker, Minn.
Inga Josephine Bergsrud was born Jan. 19, 1904, the daughter of John and Sigrid (Olson) Bergsrud, in Pleasant View Township, Grand Forks County. She married
Walter Brown on June 24, 1955, in Bemidji. She worked at schools as a cook and worked for S & H Green Stamp Store in Bemidji. Walter Brown died in 1983.
She is survived by sons, Darrel (Sandy), Akeley, Minn., and Duane (Jeanne), Forest Lake, Minn.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill, Emerado, N.D.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Sauer; and a brother, Clifford.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, First Lutheran Church, Bemidji.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Cease Family Funeral Home, Bemidji, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Bemidji.
Ralph Norman
PILLSBURY, N.D. -- Ralph V. Norman, 78, El Sabronte, Calif., formerly of Pillsbury, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, in San Paublo, Calif.
Ralph V. Norman was born Dec. 1, 1921, the son of Helmer and Ida (Peterson) Norman, in Pillsbury. He married
Dona McKay on March 17, 1950, in Fargo. She died March 24, 1992.
He is survived by a daughter, Roxanne Norman, Richmond, Calif.; a son, David (Carrie), Sulsun, Calif.; and a sister, Mrytle Wortham, Waco, Texas.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; three brothers; and two sisters.
Memorial services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Quam Plaisted Cushman Funeral Chapel, Finley, N.D.
Burial: Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City, N.D.
Edith Heden
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Edith Heden, 66, Thief River Falls, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, in Valley Elder Care, Grand Forks.
Edith Delaine Sund was born July 20, 1934, the daughter of Axel and Ida (Levang) Sund, in Arthur, N.D. She graduated from high school in Goodridge, Minn., in 1952. She lived near Goodridge and Grygla, Minn. She moved to Duluth, where she developed photographs for Brown Photo Co. She moved to Warren, Minn., in the mid-1950s and worked for Red Owl Grocery Store and for the Clerk of Court Office, Marshall County. She married
Milo Heden on Sept. 8, 1956 in Goodridge. They lived in Lakeville, Minn. In 1977, they moved to Oklee, Minn., where they owned and operated Heden's Hartz Store for nine years. Milo Heden died in 1986. She moved to Thief River Falls.
She is survived by daughters, Susan Heden, Moorhead, and Kimberly Heden, Crookston; sons, Darryl, Bemidji, and David, St. Hilaire, Minn.; three grandchildren; a brother, Ronald (Cathy), Hesperia, Calif.; and sisters, Eileen (Walter) Hillman, Warren, and Wylma (Earl) Allen, Minot.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Monday, Green Funeral Home Chapel, Thief River Falls.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a 6: 30 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before services, all in the funeral home.
Burial: Goodridge Cemetery.
Laura Zimbrick
Laura A. Zimbrick, 91, Waseca, Minn., formerly of East Grand Forks, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in the Waseca Medical Center.
Laura Baerwald was born July 7, 1909, the daughter of Ewald and Emilia (Krueger) Baerwald, in Egeland, N.D., where she graduated from high school. She attended business college in Fargo. She married
Willard Zimbrick on Nov. 27, 1937, in Fergus Falls, Minn. They moved to East Grand Forks, where she worked as Clerk of Court. She moved to Waseca in 1992.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Ron) Wood, Waseca; a son, Ron (Kay), Cherry Log, Ga.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a stepbrother, Herman Baerwald, Port Angeles, Wash.; and stepsisters, Esther Rose, Eatonville, Wash., Irma Lannoye and Ida Marsh, both of Bothell, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a great-grandson; and brothers, Lawrence Baerwald, Henry Baerwald and Robert Baerwald.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Waseca.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: 10 a.m. Friday, Sunnywood Gardens, Grand Forks (Kinder-Dennis, Waseca).
Lisa Thompson
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Lisa N. Thompson, 31, Moorhead, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, in Fairview University Medical Center, Minneapolis.
Lisa N. Ray was born Dec. 23, 1968, the daughter of Don and Jeanne (Cockrell) Ray, in Thief River Falls, where she graduated from high school in 1987. She attended Northland College, Thief River Falls, graduating in 1989. She graduated from Moorhead State University in 1995, with a degree as a legal assistant. She married
Shane Thompson on Sept. 24, 1994, in Wolverton, Minn. They lived in Moorhead. She worked for the Cass County States Attorneys office, Fargo.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Brady, Dominic and Benjamin, all at home; her father, Aurora, Minn.; her parents, Jeanne and Tom Williams, Thief River Falls; grandparents, Lois and Gordon Williams, Buffalo, Minn.; brothers, Steven (Kathy) Carlson, Scott Carlson and Don (Cindy) Ray Jr., all of Thief River Falls; and sisters, Linda (Bob) Jansen, Hastings, Minn., and Sarah (Ryan) Rislov, Denver.
Services: 1 p.m. today, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Visitation: Two hours before services in the church.
Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville, Minn. (Dobmeier, Barnesville).
Herbert Winge M.D.
Herbert C. Winge M.D., 76, Tacoma, Wash., formerly of Grand Forks, died Aug. 4, 2000.
Herbert C. Winge was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Van Hook, N.D., where he received his high school diploma. He attended UND. He served in the military during World War II, and received a Bronze Star. He completed his medical degree and practiced in South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota and Georgia before retiring.
He is survived by his former wife; a son; three daughters; six grandchildren; brothers, Ralph (Jane), Litchville, N.D., and Royce, Ames, Iowa; and a sister, Grace (Wilbur) Lippert, Elmhurst, Ill.
Burial: Will be later in Valley City, N.D.
Robert Jacobsen
LUVERNE, N.D. -- Robert J. Jacobsen, 75, Luverne, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at home, in a fall from a grain bin.
Robert Jacob Jacobsen was born June 2, 1925, the son of Anton and Petrea Jacobsen in Luverne, where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army. He married
Arda Strathe on Oct. 8, 1948, in Hope, N.D. He was elected to the North Dakota Legislature in 1978 and 1980, and served on the House Appropriations Committee.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Ried (Kathy), Downers Grove, Ill., Lyle (Teri), Dayton, Va., Jerome, Grand Prairie, Texas, Roy (Paula), Fargo, and Larry, Luverne; nine grandchildren; sisters, Norma Carmichael, Ogden, Utah, and Lolo Greenland, Hayward, Calif.; and brothers, Talbert (Rosalind), Valley City, N.D., Richard (Rita), Cumby, Texas, and Donald (Lu), Savannah, Ga.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Marie; two sisters; and four brothers.
Memorial Services: 10: 30 a.m. Thursday.
