Kenneth Knudson

COOPERSTOWN, N.D. -- Kenneth "Knute" Knudson, 39, Cooperstown, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.

Kenneth C. Knudson was born Aug. 20, 1961, the son of Dr. Vernon and Lois (Hendrickson) Knudson, in Minneapolis. He moved with his family to Cooperstown in 1962, where he graduated from high school in 1979. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science from 1980 to 1981. He worked for area businesses in Cooperstown, including the Melroe Co., the Cooperstown Veterinary Clinic, and Cenex Land O' Lakes. More than 20 years ago he began building the Knudson Ranch, near Cooperstown. He did custom excavating and feed lot cleaning. He married Mary Jo Pauley on Jan. 28, 1993, in Aberdeen, S.D. They lived and worked in Cooperstown.

He is survived by his wife; children, Klint, at home, Jessica Habeck, Denver, and Matthew Habeck and Jared Habeck, both of Aberdeen; his parents, Cooperstown; a brother, John, Glyndon, Minn.; and a sister, Kristen (Gene) Stoick, Fargo.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today, and one hour before services in the church.

Burial: Knudson Ranch Cemetery, Cooperstown (Stanley-Iverson, McVille, N.D.).

Moraine Sinclair-Buresh

Moraine Therese Breid Sinclair-Buresh, infant daughter of Michele Sinclair and Robert Buresh Jr., died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Moraine Therese Breid Sinclair-Buresh was born Sept. 18, 2000, the daughter of Michele Sinclair and Robert Buresh Jr., in Grand Forks.

She is survived by her parents, Grafton; sisters, Teletha, Margaret, Cassandra, Samantha and Brianna, all of Grafton; a brother, Alexander, Grafton; grandparents, Margaret Kellett, St. Thomas, Deborah Anderson, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Robert Buresh Sr., Grafton; and great-grandparents, Leonard and Anne Buresh, Grafton.

Services: 10: 30 a.m. Tuesday, St. John's Catholic Church, Grafton, N.D.

Visitation: 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, Tollefson Funeral Home, Grafton.

Burial: St. Thomas (N.D.) City Cemetery.

J.D. Mund

John Daryl (J.D.) Mund, 58, Fargo, died Friday, November 17, 2000, at Meritcare Hospital with his family by his side.

J.D. was born to John and Annabelle Smith Mund on March 10, 1942, in Grand Forks.

He completed elementary school and high school in Larimore, N.D., graduating in 1960. While in high school, J.D. lettered in four sports and was active in band and other musical groups.

While enrolled at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and participated in the Air Force ROTC program.

He was united in marriage with Sharon Pazderic of Kempton, N.D., on August 18, 1963.

Upon graduation from UND in 1966, J.D. was inducted into the Air Force where he served until 1970. During his active duty, he was stationed in Thailand for a year as an air traffic controller during the Vietnam War.

J.D.'s career in banking began in Grand Forks in 1970 with Red River National Bank. The last 10 years he has been with State Bank of Fargo as Vice President of Commercial Banking.

J.D. was involved with United Way in Fargo for nine years, presiding as board chair in 1991. He was on the board of Red River Valley Hospice for seven years and served as board chair in 1989. He was a member of the Fargo Optimist Club and also sat on the Fargo Cass Board of Health. In addition, he served a term as board chair of Hope Lutheran Church Foundation.

In his leisure time, J.D. was an avid reader and enjoyed music of all kinds. Fishing, especially at the family's summer home at Leech Lake, was one of his favorite pastimes. He was an enthusiastic sports fan and a Bison Team Maker of long standing.

During his battle with leukemia, J.D. always put family first. He is survived by his wife Sharon; a son, Paul (Krista), Fargo; a daughter, Tracy, Fargo; and a sister, Karen (Ron) Ury, Torrance, California. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother.

Visitation: Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, 5-8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.

Funeral: Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, 11 a.m., at Hope Lutheran Church, north campus, Fargo.

Interment: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore, N.D.

Memorials: The family requests that memorials be sent to the following: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 1311 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, NY 10605; Hospice of the Red River Valley at 702 28th Ave. N., Fargo, ND 58102; or Hope Lutheran Church Foundation at 2900 Broadway, Fargo, ND 58102.

Inga Hoberg

BEMIDJI -- Inga J. Hoberg, 98, Bemidji, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, in North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bemidji.

Inga Josephine Nelson was born Aug. 14, 1902, the daughter of William and Anna Nelson, in Fisher, Minn. Following high school, she worked in Crookston at the Agricultural School. She married Harvey Hoberg on Aug. 28, 1924, in Fisher. Before moving to Bemidji in 1926, they lived in Worthington, Minn. She owned and operated My Ladies Dress Shoppe in Bemidji. She also prepared baked goods while her husband owned Harvey's Restaurant.

She is survived by sons, Keith (Elaine), Tyler, Texas, and Justin, Bemidji; a daughter, Virginia (Don) Cann, International Falls, Minn.; and a daughter-in-law, Kay Hoberg, Moorhead; 12 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Dwaine; a daughter-in-law, Donna Hoberg; two grandchildren; brothers, James and Morris; and a sister, Alma Peterson.

Services: 2 p.m. today, First Presbyterian Church, Bemidji.

Visitation: One hour before services in the church.

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji. Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church (Olson-Schwartz, Bemidji).

Ruth Johnson

ROLLA, N.D. -- Ruth Johnson, 77, Rolla, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at home.

Ruth Everetta Dawson was born Oct. 10, 1922, the daughter of Ernest and Rosa Dawson, in Rolla. She attended school in Rolla and Cartwright, Man. She married Elmer Johnson on Nov. 26, 1941, in Wolf Point, Mont. They lived and farmed near Rolla. Elmer Johnson died Dec. 16, 1981.

She is survived by sons, Ernest (Marilynn) Randa and Andrew (Peggy) Johnson, both of Rolla, James (Shirlene) Johnson, Birmingham, Ala., and Lloyd (Judy) Johnson, Houston; daughters, Lorrenda (Thomas) MacKrell, Bothell, Wash., and Brenda (Michael) Anderson, Salem, Ore.; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Luella Timlick, Issaquah, Wash., Lucille Strietzel, Rolette, N.D., and Evelyn Albrecht, Rolla; and a brother, Everette, Rolla.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Rolla Presbyterian Church.

Visitation: 3 to 4 p.m. today, with a 4 p.m. family service.

Burial: Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery, Rolla.

Lawrence Dornheim

Lawrence W. "Larry" Dornheim, 54, West Fargo, formerly of Grand Forks, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.

Lawrence William Dornheim was born Sept. 29, 1945, the son of William and Greba (Sorenson) Dornheim, in Grand Forks, where he attended school. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement in March 1987 due to disability.

Services: 10: 30 a.m. Monday, Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.

Visitation: 7 to 8: 30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
