Richard A. Gores
Funeral services for Richard A. Gores, 45, Lisbon, were held on Thursday, November 8, 2001 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon. Reverend Norm Anderson and Reverend David Killeen officiated. Mr. Gores died Sunday, November 4, 2001 in rural Sheldon.
Richard A. Gores, son of Francis and Donna (Fritz) Gores, was born on November 18, 1955 in Cando, N.D. He attended Bisbee and Lisbon schools, graduating from Lisbon High School. Richard worked at Wil’s Body Shop and Dahlgren’s, both of Lisbon, before working at Melroe Mfg. in Gwinner for 22 years. He was a member of the union and a pool league. He was Christopher Bleecker's uncle and godfather.
He is survived by one son, Justin Gores, and two daughters, Nicole and Stephanie Gores, all of Fargo; his parents, Francis and Donna Gores, Lisbon; one brother, Francis Gores, Jr., Lisbon; four sisters, Marilyn (Terry) Faller, Lisbon, Colleen (Robert) Boozer, Bemidji, Minn., Cheryl (Todd) Gregor, Lisbon, and Sandra (Lyle) McNenny, Groton, S.D. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles, and a nephew, Nicholas.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Charlie Faber, Kenny Metzen, Bobby Faber, Brad Griggs, Steve Jorgenson, Greg Saxerud, Curt Reiger, Mike Bopp and Tim Faber. Honorary pallbearers were his nephews.
Music was provided by organist Jan Hansen and soloist Larry Ketterling.
Interment at the Bisbee, N.D. Cemetery.
Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon, was in charge of arrangements.

Christopher L. Bleecker
Funeral services for Christopher L. Bleecker, 21, Lisbon, were held on Thursday, November 8, 2001 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon. Reverend Norm Anderson and Reverend David Killeen officiated. Mr. Bleecker died Sunday, November 4, 2001 in rural Sheldon.
Christopher L. Bleecker, son of Roger Bleecker and Cheryl (Gores) Gregor, was born on March 21, 1980 in Lisbon. He attended and graduated from Lisbon High School. Chris worked at Dead Colt Creek during high school. He had worked at Fargo Assembly, B & M Trucking, Walton Bean, Ray Mac, the Gwinner C-Store and Gwinner Oil.
He is survived by father, Roger Bleecker, Bothell, Wash.; his mother and step-father, Cheryl and Todd Gregor, Lisbon; his grandparents, Dick and Marilyn Bleecker, Francis and Donna Gores, all of Lisbon; and three brothers, Tim (Jeanette) Bleecker, Fargo, Daniel and Mark Bleecker, both of Lisbon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholas Bleecker.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Mike Thompson, Rick Sorenson, Brandon Erickson, Matthew Metzen, Mike Metzen, Darin Johnson, David Olson, Paul Dick, Davis McCullough. Honorary pallbearers were all of his cousins and friends.
Music was provided by organist Jan Hansen and soloist Larry Ketterling.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.

Daryle Harris Gardner
Funeral services for Daryle H. Gardner, 57, Cocoa, Fla., were held on Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at Bervard Memorial Funeral Home, Cocoa. Mr. Gardner died in his home in Cocoa.
Daryle Harris Gardner, son of Walter and Laura Gardner, was born on January 19, 1944 in Englevale. He was baptized in the Marion Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Good Shepherd Church, Englevale. He attended and graduated the eighth grade in Englevale and graduated from high school at Verona. He spent one year attending college in Fargo. He was then inducted into the Army and went to Germany where he spent 14 years.
Upon returning from Germany, he married Eva Carpenter in Florida. He worked for Martin Marrietta Co. in Germany and the United States for 32 years.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Gardner, Cocoa, Fla.; his mother, Laura Gardner, Englevale; one brother, Gene Gardner, Lisbon; one niece, Roberta J. Boy and one nephew; three grand nephews and many relatives and good friends.
Interment at Bervard Memorial Park, Cocoa, Fla.
Bervard Memorial Funeral Home, Cocoa, was in charge of arrangements.

Laura (Christensen) Jensen
Funeral services for Laura (Christensen) Jensen, 86, Rutland, N.D., were held on Monday, November 5, 2001 at Nordland Lutheran Church, Rutland. Reverend Kirk Wiltse officiated. Mrs. Jensen died on Wednesday, October 31, 2001 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Laura Etta Delaney, daughter of William and Cora (Church) Delaney, was born on September 1, 1915 in Lidgerwood. As a youngster, she moved with her family to South Dakota where she attended school near Claire City.
On December 21, 1931, she married Fred Arnold Christensen. They lived on a farm in Rutland Township and later moved into Rutland. Fred died on May 4, 1958 and Laura continued to make her home in Rutland. She worked as a cook in the school lunch room for several years. She also worked at the Meyers Maternity Home in Rutland, and the Sargent Manor in Forman.
On December 22, 1978, she married Ruben Henry Jensen. They also lived in Rutland. Ruben died on May 12, 1990. Laura continued to make Rutland her home the rest of her life. Laura was a long time member of the Baptist Church in Rutland. She had been active in the Ladies Aide there. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Rutland. She also had been active in the Rutland Garden Club.
She is survived by eight sons, Carroll (Betty) Christensen, Ray, N.D., Donald (Shirley) Christensen, Gwinner, Charles (Sonja) Christensen, Wahpeton, Fred Christensen, Rutland, Steven (Helen) Christensen, Williston, Leo (Gay) Christensen, Omaha, Neb., Larry (Carolyn) Christensen, Wahpeton, John Christensen, Rutland; two daughters, Etta Lee, Rutland, and Nancy (Mike) Worthington, Fresno, Calif.; two sisters, Martha Christensen, Bismarck, and Corrine Panbecker, Pocahontas, Iowa; 35 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; an infant daughter; four grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers for the funeral were her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were her granddaughters and all of her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Music was provided by organist Doris Olson, soloist Michael Wyum and a vocal duet by Doris Olson and Kathleen Thomas.
Interment at Rutland Cemetery, Rutland.
Price Funeral Chapel, Inc., Forman, was in charge of arrangements.

Earl L. Aasheim
Funeral services for Earl L. Aasheim, 85, Enderlin, were held on Friday, November 9, 2001 at First Lutheran Church, Enderlin. Reverend Leon Zavadil officiated. Mr. Aasheim died on Sunday, November 4, 2001 at Hillcrest Manor, Enderlin.
Earl L. Aasheim, son of Andrew and Maude (Olson) Aasheim, was born on November 16, 1915 in Bode, Iowa. He attended schools in Bode, Clermont, Fla., and then came to Enderlin in 1927. He graduated from Enderlin High School.
On November 24, 1944, he married Anna Huether in Regent, N.D. He farmed near Enderlin and also did television repair for a few years. He entered Hillcrest Manor in Enderlin on August 6, 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Aasheim, Enderlin; three sons, Dennis (Gail) Aasheim, Enderlin, Byron Aasheim, Fargo and Elroy (Laura) Aasheim, Fargo; three daughters, Diane (John) Boyle) Alice, Cynthia (Doug) Jordet, Fargo, and Camilla (David) Haugen, Tulsa, Okla.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Maurice Aasheim, and a sister, Lorna Shelver, Concrete, Wash., who died August 20, 2001.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Michael and Trina Nudell, Ryan and Kari Jordet, Jessica Boyle, Paul Osland, Doug Jordet and John Boyle.
Music was provided by organist Shirley Hanson and soloist Bobby Geske.
Interment at Enderlin Cemetery, Enderlin.

Dora W. Lewis
Funeral services for Dora W. Lewis, 97, Oakes, were held on Friday, November 23, 2001, at Grace Lutheran Church, in Oakes. Pastor Jerome Swanson officiated. Mrs. Lewis died Monday, November 19, 2001 at the Oakes Good Samaritan Center, Oakes.
Dora W. Hein, daughter of Henry and Christina (Thuernau) Hein, was born on October 17, 1904 near Beecher, Ill. She moved with her family to Andover, S.D., where she grew up and attended school.
On June 20, 1924, she married Tom Lewis, in in Aberdeen. They farmed in the Hecla, S.D. area until 1939, before they moved to a farm near Cogswell, and raised their family. Dora and Tom moved to Billings, Mont. in 1960, where Tom worked until his retirement in 1968. They returned to North Dakota in that same year and settled in Oakes. Tom died on September 12, 1994. Dora continued to live in Oakes and entered the Oakes Good Samaritan Center in October of 1991. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Rebekah Circle.
She is survived by four sons, Norman, Buffalo, Wyo., Gilbert, Oakes, Russell (Carolyn) and Stanley (Kathy) all of Forman; two daughters, Donna (Bob) Zito, El Cajon, Calif. and Eunice Claw, Norton, Mass; twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Lewis, one son, Willard, one daughter Lyla Klefstad, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Cale Lewis, Shane Lewis, Mike Sundquist, Brian Wittich, Richard Lewis, Alan Lewis and Steven Klefstad.
Vesta Olderness will provide special music for the service.
Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Oakes, was in charge of arrangements.

Olga Esther Bubach
Funeral services for Olga Esther Bubach, 88, LaMoure, were held on Saturday, December 1, 2001 at Trinity Lutheran Church, LaMoure. Reverend Thomas Puffe officiated. Mrs. Bubach died Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure.
Olga Esther Weight, daughter of Jacob and Mary (Wutke) Weight was born on April 24, 1913 on the family farm near Marion, where she grew up and attended rural school.
On August 30, 1934, she married Clarence Bubach at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion, N.D. They made their home and farmed south of Marion until 1950, when they moved into Marion. In 1999, Olga and Clarence moved to LaMoure and became residents at St. Rose Care Center. Olga was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marion and Trinity Lutheran Church in LaMoure, where she was active in the Lutheran Missionary League.
She is survived by her husband Clarence Bubach, LaMoure, one son, Rodney (Pati) Bubach, Grand Forks; three daughters, Joyce (Duane) Matzke, Marion, Janet (Robert) Bauer, Dickinson, Kathleen (Timothy) Callahan, Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Adolph Weight, Jamestown and Wilfred (Patricia) Weight, Peoria, Ariz.; two sisters, Leona Day, Edmonds, Wash. and Frances Reid, Farmington, Minn.; thirteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, four brothers and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Dennis Larson, Jim Weight, Lowell Gemar, Barney Weight, Greg Reid, Rodney Lebahn, Selmer Bubach, and Raymond Lebahn. Honorary pallbearers for the funeral were Timothy Matzke, Tom Matzke, Daniel Matzke, Dennis Bauer, Mark Bauer, Chris Bauer, Jon Bauer, Kelly Bubach, Kevin Bubach, Keith Bubach, Tamara Matzke, Kim Matzke, and Erin Callahan.
Music was provided by organist Kathie Hay and soloist Tim Matzke.
Interment at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Marion.
Dahlstrom Funeral Home, LaMoure was in charge of arrangements.
