Michael J. Meyer
Funeral services for Michael J. Meyer, 52, Barney, N.D., were held on Tuesday, June 27, 2003 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Breckenridge. Reverend Kenneth Popp officiated. Mr. Meyer died Friday, June 13, 2003 in Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Fargo.
Michael J. Meyer, son of Clarence and Dorothy (Hendricksen) Meyer was born on December 30, 1950 in Moorhead. He moved with his family to Breckenridge, Minn., where he grew up and attended school. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1977. He then attended North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, taking classes in upholstery.
On May 25, 1972, he married
Pam Marquardt. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad, Breckenridge. They moved to Barney in 1979. He returned to NDSCS, taking classes in heating, cooling and plumbing. He was a plumber for Pfaff Plumbing, Enderlin, until 1997. He was a member of Barney Fire Department, Barney Park Board and VFW Post 9366 of Barney.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Meyer; one son, Chris Meyer, Dwight; one daughter, Sara Meyer, Minot; one brother, Brad (Kim) Meyer, Breckenridge; three sisters, Dynae (Gus)Gorman, Jamestown, Robbin (Jeff) Roeber, West Fargo, and Tracy Trupka, rural Pelican Rapids, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Military honors will be presented by Barney VFW Memorial Post No. 9366.
Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton.

Gordon A. Trana
Funeral services for Gordon A. Trana, 74, Hoople, N.D., were held on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at the First Lutheran church, Hoople. Mr. Trana died Friday, June 13, 2003, at the SCCI Hospital, Fargo.
Gordon A. Trana, son of Arnold and Lavina (Holmstrom) Trana was born on August 14, 1928 in Gwinner. He grew up and graduated from Gwinner High School. He then attended the Gale Institute in Minneapolis, Minn. He served in the United States Army from 1951-52 serving in Korea. Following his discharge he returned to Gwinner.
On June 13, 1954, he married
Elaine Wittkopp in Barney, N.D. The couple lived in Gwinner where Gordon worked for Melroe Manufacturing. They later moved to Wyndmere and in 1970 they moved to Hoople where he was working for the P.A.R. site. He later worked with LaVoy Olson in the fertilizer plan and later owned his own fertilizer plant. The couple owned and operated the Hoople Bar for 13 years. He was currently working for the Hoople Farmers Grain. He was a member of the Hoople city council for 16 years. He was a member of the John Anderson American Legion post #240 of Hoople, N.D. and the VFW Post of Barney.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Trana, Hoople; one daughter, Brenda (Tom) Rinde, Cavalier, N.D.; one son, Scott (Cynthia) Trana, Rosemont, Minn.; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mavis (Fritz) Rotenberger, Lisbon. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant twin grandsons.
Pallbearers for the funeral were John Rotenberger, Stanley Holmstrom, LaVoy Olson, Ron Bakke, Russell Crowder and Don Steenerson.
Military rites provided by the John Anderson American Legion post #240, Hoople.
Interment at Hoople City Cemetery.

David A. Marlenee
Funeral services for David A. Marlenee, 71, Lisbon, were held on Thursday, June 12 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Lisbon. Father Andrew Dudzinski officiated. Mr. Marlenee died Monday, June 9, 2003.
David A. Marlenee, son of Alta Marlenee was born on May 22, 1932 in Nashwauk, Minn.
On January 26, 1965, he married
Phyllis Kraft. Since 1952 Dave has worked for Charlie Larson, Schlecht Motor and Implement in Enderlin, Ranes Motors, Bergemann Motors. Kelsen’s Bold Venture and Main Street Sales and Service and Ransom County Implement all in Lisbon.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis Marlenee.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Duane Peterson, Paul Radcliffe, John Feist, Art Olson, Ray Meyers, and Bruce Alinder.
Interment at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Lisbon.

Kathryn Tillman
Funeral services for Kathryn Tillman, 89, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, Minn., were held on Thursday, June 12, 2003 in Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth, Minn. Mrs. Tillman died Monday, June 9, 2003 at the nursing home.
Kathryn Raile, daughter of Jacob and Caroline (Wanner) Raile was born on December 23, 1913 in Wishek. She grew up and attended school in Wishek.
On July 5, 1933, she married
Reinhold Schock at Wishek. They farmed near Elliott until 1951 when they moved to Fargo. She worked for Armor and Company in West Fargo and then for St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo. Kathryn married
Dennis Tillman on November 10, 1979 in Dilworth, Minn., where they made their home. Kathryn had been a member of the Moose Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Tillman, Dilworth; five sons, Arloe (Dianne) Schock, Harwood, Lester Schock, Casselton, Lyle (Charlotte) Schock, West Fargo, Robert Shock, Lake Park, and Kenneth (Marilyn) Schock, Fargo; two daughters, Shirley (Robert) Tabatt, Crookston and Beverly (Richard) Brudevold, Waubun, Minn; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-give great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Oscar and daughter, Agnes Pallum.
Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, Minn.

Leroy W. Larson
Memorial services for Leroy W. Larson, 62, Seattle, Wash., were held on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Seattle, Wash. Mr. Larson died Thursday, May 29, 2003.
He graduated in 1958 from Central High School, Fargo. He was a former employee of Piggly-Wiggly, Bothell Thriftway, Frito-Lay, Amtrak, Seattle Personal Transit, owner of Sportscaster Saloon, and originator of Grand Larsony music duo. He was a member of Kenmore Eagles 2609, Seattle Elks 92, and Bothell Sons of Norway.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Larson, Seattle, Wash.; mother, Berniece Larson, Enderlin; one son, Howard Larson, Eltopia, Wash.; one daughter, Brenda (Dallas) Sledge, Edmonds, Wash.; step-daughters, Janet (Scott) Parrott, Seattle, Wash. and Heather (Curt) Freeman, Lynnwood, Wash.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Barbara) Larson, Fargo, and Lawrence (Debbie) Larson, Gold Bar, Wash.
Michael L. Schenatzki
Funeral services for Michael L. Schenatzki, 21, Mapleton, N.D., were held on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus, Fargo. Mr. Schenatzki died Saturday, June 7, 2003 in his home.
Michael L. Schenatzki, son of Steven Schenatzki and Joyce Odegaard, was born on November 18, 1981 at Fargo. He lived in Fargo until 1989 when he moved with his foster parents to Mapleton, N.D. Michael attended L.E. Berger Elementary in West Fargo, Ben Franklin Middle School, Fargo and graduated from West Fargo High School in 2003.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Odegaard and step-father, Wendell Odegaard, Kent, Minn.; father, Steven Schenatzki, Indiana; one sister, Elizabeth; two step-sisters, Stacy and Shanna and one step-brother, Chris; foster parents, Myron and Linda Hankel, Mapleton, and their children, Peter, Debra, Mark, Bethany, and Paul; grandparents, Delton and Kitty LaCoursiere, Brooks, Minn., Ed and Mary Schenatzki, Pelican Rapids, Minn., Luella Hankel, Lisbon, and William and Carol York-Critchley, Egan, Minn.

Bertha Jeanette Bjone
Funeral services for Bertha Jeanette Bjone, 93, Moorhead, Minn., were held Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Gary Clark officiating. Mrs. Bjone died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Eventide Lutheran Home.
Bertha Jeanette Bjone, daughter of Edward E. Johnson and Josephine (Pederson) Johnson, was born May 31, 1910 near Deering, N.D., in their pioneer farm home. She attended Grilley Rural School and Glenburn High School.
On January 23, 1941, she married
Gil Bjone at Minot, N.D. Gil died December 8, 1968.
She lived in the family home in Minot from 1947 until November 1999, when she moved to Moorhead, Minn.
She is survived by four daughters, Judith (Vernon) Liebelt, Kindred; Sandra (Dennis) Janke, LaPlatta, Md.; Linda Dearinger, Springfield, Mo.; and Clarice (Mark) Huff, Roseville, Calif.; eleven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Esther Johnson, Enderlin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Edwin, Neilius, Lawrence, Alfred, Hjalmer, Lester, Earl and Irving; her sisters Olga Johnson, Geneva Johnson, Mildred Larson, Nina Anderson, Lillie Robertson, Julia Durham, and Cora Nettum.
Internment at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, N.D.

Daron Jay Buchholz
Memorial services for Daron Jay Buchholz, 23, Medford, Ore., were held Friday, June 20, 2003 at Ascension Lutheran Church, Medford, with Pastor Dave Rapp officiating. Mr. Buchholz died Sunday, June 15, 2003 at Central Point, Ore.
Daron Jay Buchholz, son of Marlin M. (formerly of Sheldon) and Irene M. (Jordheim) Buchholz (formerly of Wyndmere), was born March 17, 1980, at Medford, Ore. He attended Lone Pine Elementary, Hedrick Middle School and graduated from North Medford High School in 1998. While attending North, Daron was involved in the Graphic Arts Club.
Following high school, he worked for a brief time at Sterlings Printing in White City before going to work as a press operator at Pronto Print in Medford where he worked for four years.
Daron enjoyed fishing, camping and four wheelers. He was also fond of music and car stereos, of which he was a great installer. Daron also enjoyed gardening when he was younger.
He is survived by his parents, Marlin and Irene Buchholz, Medford, Ore.; a brother, Brad Buchholz, Medford, Ore.; two sisters, Melinda Jensen, and Teresa Rainey, both of Alexandria, Va.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elmer and Annette Fraase and Theodore and Clara Jordheim.
