Margaret H. LeMier
Funeral services for Margaret H. LeMier, 97, Fargo, formerly Oakes, were held on Monday, April 26, 2004 at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Fargo. Reverend David Wagner officiated. Mrs. LeMier died Thursday, April 22, 2004 at the Elim Care Center, Fargo.
Margaret H. Erbstoesser, daughter of Ted and Minnie (Gersonda) Erbstoesser was born on February 20, 1907, near Chaffee. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, near Leonard. She grew up and attended country school near Chaffee and worked on the family farm.
On December 4. 1929, she married
Glen LeMier, in Fargo. The couple lived near Enderlin until 1938 when they moved to Oakes. Margaret was a homemaker. Glenn died June 17, 1975. Margaret continued to live in Oakes before moving to Horace in 1990. She spent some time as a resident at Bethany Homes in Fargo and in 2001, entered the Elim Care Center.
She is survived by two sons, Maynard LeMier, Fairmont, Minn. and Harlan (Irene) LeMier, Horace; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lillian Rarick, Eugene, Ore. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and four sisters.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Pat Teele, Glenn LeMier, Paul LeMier, Carol LeMier, Julie LeMier, Ted LeMier, Wayne LeMier and Margie Lundell.
Music was provided by organist Mary Seiffert and vocalists Reverend David and Kim Wagner.
Interment at Oakes View Cemetery.

Judge Paul Benson
Funeral services for Judge Paul Benson, 85, Fargo, were held on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at United Lutheran Church, Grand Forks. Judge Benson died Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Madison, Wis.
Paul Benson, was born on June 1, 1918 on his family’s farm in LaMoure County near Verona. He graduated from the University of North Dakota.
On December 29, 1942, he married
Laurel Mae Johnson. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in both the Atlantic and Pacific theatres. After the war, Judge benson worked for U.S. Senator Milton R. Young while obtaining his law degree from George Washington Law School in Washington, D.C. Judge Benson practiced law in Grand Forks. From 1954 to 1955 he served as the Attorney General for the State of North Dakota. In 1971 he was appointed to the federal bench as a District Judge for eastern North Dakota. During his tenure on the bench, he presided over several significant trials. Judge Benson took senior status in 1985 and retired in 1998.
He is survived by his daughters, Santal Manos, Gambrills, Md., Polly (Dr. Klaus) Diem, Madision, Wis., Amy (Alan) Benson, Aurora, Colo., Laurie (Philip) Bingenheimer, Bedford, Texas; son Dr. Peter (Wendy)Benson, North Oakes, Minn.; and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laurel Benson.
Interment at Grand Forks Memorial Park Cemetery.

Betty J. English
Graveside services for Betty J. English, 74, Beaverton, Ore. formerly Gwinner, were held on Saturday, May 15, 2004. Mrs. English died November 5, 2003 in St. Vincent Hospice, Beaverton.
Betty Jean English was born on May 9, 1929 in Dickinson. She was adopted as an infant from the Children’s Home Society, currently the Village Family Service Center Fargo, by William and Hedvig English. She lived with her family in Gwinner and in 1937 they moved to Fertile, Minn. She graduated in 1947 from St. Cloud (Minn.) High School, then moved to Los Angeles. She later moved to Beaverton, where she was a hospice nurse’s aide.
She is survived by a daughter, Diana Lee, Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a brother, Blake English, Edina, Minn. and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Loren Repulski and Cody Parker.
Interment at Gwinner Cemetery.
Dr. Larry R. Brash
Funeral services for Dr. Larry R. Brash, 61, Rutland, N.D., were held on Friday, May 14, 2004 at Nordland Lutheran Church, Rutland. Reverend Kristen Schwan officiated. Dr. Brash died Monday, May 10, 2004 at Oakes Community Hospital, Oakes.
Larry R. Brash, son of Kenneth F. and Lorelle M. (Johnson) Brash was born on May 8, 1943 in Lisbon. He attended Lisbon Schools and graduated from LHS. Larry graduated from NDSU and then Washington State University. He served in the National Guard.
On May 8, 1964, he married
Sally Kaspari in Fargo.They lived in Lewiston, Idaho from 1964-1968 while Larry attended school. They moved to Burley and Rupert, Idaho where Larry worked as a veterinarian. In 1977 they moved to Rutland where Larry was presently working as a veterinarian. She died February 6, 1996. He married
Janet Lynn Bergman December 27, 1997 in Rutland.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Brash, Rutland; four daughters Carol (Roshan Ditter) Brash, Minneapolis, Nicole (Tony) Miner, Olathe, Kan., Beth (Travis) Jacobson, Bismarck, Laura (Michael) Halmrast, Goodyear, Ariz.; one son, Martin (Rachael) Brash, Goodyear Ariz.; three step-sons, Garth (Kate O’Meara) Bergman, St. Paul, Garin (Jenney) Bergman, Mooresville, N.C., Greg (Dana) Bergman, Buxton, N.D.; seven grandchildren; one brother, Roy (Bonnie) Brash, Sheldon, four sisters, Betty (Norman) Anderson, Anchorage, Alaska, Alice Johnson, Lisbon, Sharon (Greg) Huffman, Cogswell and Kathy (Paul) Huffman, Twin Brooks, S.D. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally and a brother, Wayne.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Earl Fust, Dr. Andrew Peterson, Paul Huffman, Greg Huffman, Howard Anderson and Don Lynn. Honorary pallbearers were his children.
Music was provided by organist Phyllis Wyum and soloist Michael Wyum.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.

Esther Gustafson Blew
Memorial services for Esther Gustafson Blew, 74, Ingram, Texas, were held at the Kerrville Seventh-day Adventist Church, Kerrville, Texas. Pastors Carlos Garza and Edward Stacey officiated. Mrs. Blew died Tuesday, January 28, 2004 in Ingram, Texas.
Esther Joy Chesley, daughter of Walter and Gertrude (Millbrandt) Chesley was born on August 16, 1929 in Stirum, N.D.
In 1946, she married
Milton Gustafson. They lived in Cutbank, Mont. In 1956 they moved to Walla Walla, Wash. and in 1963 they moved to Scottsdale-Phoenix, Ariz. Joy was a homemaker and also worked at the Walla Walla College cafeteria. She graduated as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked as a private duty nurse and at St. Lukes Hospital. Joy was active in the Paradise Valley Adventist Church in the Phoenix area. She moved to Tempe, Ariz. after her husband, Milton’s death. Joy married
Henry Blew in Gallatin, Mo. on September 12, 1978. They moved from Phoenix to Arkansas. Joy worked at the Siloam Springs Hospital and in private duty nursing. They moved to Kerrville, Texas.
She is survived by her husband Jim Blew; daughter Karen Heyden; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; five sisters, Ada Allen, Charlo, Mont., Shirley Hansen, Lisbon, Irene (Keith) Gustafson, Cutbank, Mont., Janet (Bob) Brunet, Eugene Ore, Mary Ann Chesley, Billings, Mont.; two brothers, Roy (Lorraine) Chesley, Oakes and Kenneth (Carol) Chesley, Eugene, Ore.; step-daughter, Carolyn (Harold) Shoup, Siloam Springs, Ariz.; one step-son, Michael (Toni) Blew, Oquawka, Ill. and ten step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Milton Gustafson and her son, Larry Gustafson.
Earl F. Bell
Earl F. Bell, 73, Templeton, Calif., died at home in the care of family on May 4, 2004.
Earl Francis Bell, son of Earl and Frances (Brayton) Bell was born on June 25, 1930 in Cogswell, N.D. He graduated from Cogswell High School in 1948 and served in the U.S. Navy from August 1948 to August 1949.
In 1950, he married
Margaret Webster. They worked and lived in North and South Dakota until 1954 when they moved to California. He was last employed at the Los Angeles County Fire Department from 1960 to 1981 when he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy, Templeton, Calif.; six children, Earle (Donna) Bell, Bellingham, Wash., Teresa McCaulou, St. Petersburg, Fla., Thomas (Rebecca) Bell, Littleton, Colo., Richard (Sheila) Bell, Paso Robles, Calif., Robert (Rhonda) Bell, Templeton, Calif., Linda (Steve) Caudell, Topeka, Kans. 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Dana Bell, Topeka, Kans., Thomas Bell, Lisbon; two sisters, Patricia Tomlin, Casper, Wyo., and Mary Ronning, Cogswell. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Priscilla McGregor
Memorial services for Priscilla McGregor, 83, Las Vegas, Nev., formerly Enderlin, were held Saturday, May 8, 2004 at Christ Lutheran Church, Las Vegas. Mrs. McGregor died Saturday, April 24, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Priscilla Storhoff, daughter of Tena and Adolph Storhoff was born on May 16, 1920 in rural Eastedge, N.D. She attended school in Eastedge and Nome.
On January 22, 1941 she married
John McGregor in Chicago. Ill. They returned to Enderlin and lived there until their retirement.She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was an active member of her circle at Trinity Lutheran church in Enderlin. She and John moved to Las Vegas in 1975.
She is survived by her children, Donald (Joanne) Fargo, Robert (Jackie) Colville, Wash., Kim (Lynelle) Riverdale, N.D., Cathy (Noel) Idaho Falls, Idaho; six brothers, Edmund (Phyllis) Storhoff, Nome, Edgard and Gerhard Storhoff, Kathryn, Richard (Karen) Storhoff, Moorhead, Minn., Charles (Beverly)Storhoff, Kent, Wash., and Howard (Helen Ann) Storhoff, Seattle, Wash., and one sister, Valborg Hoff, Bismarck; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, two sisters, Evelyn Opdahl and Ruth Abrahamsen and a great-grandson.
Marion D. Anderson
A graveside committal service for the late Marion D. Anderson will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at Lakeside Cemetery, Milnor.
Anderson, 80, died on December 9, 2003 in Fargo. She was raised in Browns Valley, Minn. and Milnor, N.D. She married
Gene C. Thomas. The couple made their home in Milnor and Lisbon. Gene died in 1968. In 1973 Marion married
Harold Anderson. He died in 1994.
Following the committal service at the cemetery, a lunch will be served at Milnor Lutheran Church, Milnor.
Marsha M. Melroe
Funeral services for Marsha M. Melroe, 50, Phoenix, Ariz., formerly Fargo, were held on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at First Lutheran Church, Fargo. Mrs. Melroe died Monday, May 10, 2004 in her home after a 4 1/2 year battle with cancer.
Marsha Marie Miller, daughter of Glenn and Rosie (Lemke) Miller was born on October 29, 1953 in Moorhead, Minn. She grew up on a farm near Baker, Minn. Marsha was baptized June 29, 1954, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Barnesville, Minn., by Rev. H.A. Romness, and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on April 7, 1968, by Reverend Paul Knutson. She was a graduate of Barnesville High School. Marsha later graduated from Josef’s School of Hair Design, Fargo, in 1998.
On December 29, 1971, she married
Roger E. Wagner of Barnesville. Marsha worked for Norwest Bank, Wahpeton and for several years at the Farmers Mill & Elevator, Hankinson. She later worked for Applied Engineering, West Fargo.
On October 15, 1999 she was united in marriage to Bruce E. Melroe. In January 2001 they moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where she was employed by Carollo Engineers.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce E. Melroe; two daughters, Laura L. Strand, Hankinson, Tracy M. (First Lieutenant Matthew Francis) Brockhaus, Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Vance R. (Kristi) Wagner, Abercrombie, N.D.; two grandchildren; her mother, Rosie Miller, Fargo; one sister, Theresa (Wade) Gerezewski, Fargo; one brother, Edward Miller (Deborah Robbins), Castana, Iowa; one stepson, Sean (Jackie) Melroe, Scottsdale, Ariz.; three stepdaughters, Nicole (Rob) Rudder, Dallas, Texas, Heather (Chris) Hansen, Houston, Texas and Lindsay Melroe, San Francisco, Calif.; and five step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and a step-grandson.
Interment at Gwinner Cemetery, Gwinner.
