Beth Wilson
Former Hebron resident Beth Wilson, 90, of Lincoln died Monday, Dec. 23, 1996, in Lincoln.
There will be no services or visitation. Private family burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hebron. Price Funeral Home of Hebron is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Wilson was born Jan. 18, 1906, to Andrew Gordon and Elizabeth (McKean) Wilson in Hebron. She was a retired director of public relations for the professional schools at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
She is survived by one brother, Gordon Wilson of Hebron.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Harry Holdt
Red Cloud resident Harry Holdt, 79, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996, at Webster County Hospital in Red Cloud.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Red Cloud with the Rev. Dan Praeuner officiating. Burial will be in Red Cloud Cemetery. Simonson-Williams Funeral Home of Red Cloud is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Holdt was born May 6, 1917, to Alfred and Mary (Larsen) Uhrenholdt in Elgin. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1935. In 1941 he graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska College of Agriculture. He was the County Agent in Cedar County. On Aug. 24, 1941, he married Helen Thomas in Red Cloud. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. After the war he was the County Agent in Trenton. In 1947 he moved to Red Cloud where he farmed.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife; two sisters, Mary Olsen of Pipestone, Minn., and Dorothy Sindel of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Ernest Uhrenholdt of Elgin; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Bassett; and a son, Thomas Holdt.
Ardith A. Sorensen
Hastings resident Ardith A. (Bacon) Sorensen, 72, of 907 N. Minnesota Ave. died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996, at Good Samaritan Village Villa Grace.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Butler-Volland Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Robert A. Matya officiating. Burial will be in Kearney Cemetery at Kearney.
Mrs. Sorensen was born Jan. 28, 1924, to Fred and Anna (Hartman) Bacon in Kearney. She graduated from Kearney High School. On June 22, 1942, she married Carl R. Sorensen. In 1958 they moved to Hastings. Her husband died in 1987.
She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors are two sons, Gary A. of Fairfield and Donnie L. of Denton, Texas; one daughter, Sharron A. Huffaker of New Port Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Carl Jr.

Sheryle F. Yost
Clay Center resident Sheryle Faye (Guill) Yost, 55, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 1996, at her home.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Church of Christ in Clay Center with the Revs. Stanley Crawford and Jack Eske officiating. Burial will be in Harvard Cemetery at Harvard. McLaughlin Funeral Home of Clay Center is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Yost was born June 26, 1941, to Basil Avery and Grace Maude (Olsen) Guill in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She grew up in Underwood, Iowa, graduating from Underwood High School. She attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. On June 20, 1965, she married Steven Yost in Omaha. They lived in Denver and Omaha before moving to Clay Center in March 1967.
She was a member of United Church of Christ and its choir, Chat and Do Extension Club, Ladies Jaycees of Clay Center and Crooked Creek Golf Club. She was past president of the Community Club and was active in the Organization of Clay Center Preschool. She also was assistant librarian at the Clay Center Library for several years.
Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Lisa Yost of Omaha and Stefani Yost of Lincoln; her stepmother, Nina Guill of Council Bluffs; and one brother, Loren Guill of Colby, Kan.
Memorials may be given to Clay Center Library.
Laurence Flaum
Former Hastings resident Laurence Flaum, 85, of Seabrook Island, S.C., died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996, in a Charleston, S.C., hospital.
The remains were cremated. Private burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. J. Henry Stuhr Inc. Downtown Chapel of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Flaum was born Feb. 10, 1911, to Boris and Belle Flaum in Texas. He had received a doctorate degree. He was a retired university and college administrator and professor. He also was an author and painter. He married Catherine Anderson.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Susan Hesser of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Gwen Perkins of Hartford, Conn.; and four grandchildren.
Wanda A. Stichweh
Former Kenesaw resident Wanda A. (Koerwitz) Boontjer Stichweh, 67, of Tempe, Ariz., died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996, in Mesa Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.
Services were Saturday at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tempe with the Rev. John Sprain officiating. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, Ariz. Tempe Mortuary of Tempe was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stichweh was born April 29, 1929, to Gerhardt and Marie Koerwitz in Deshler. On June 1, 1947, she married Earl Boontjer. He preceded her in death. On Feb. 4, 1958, she married Fred Stichweh of Kenesaw. In 1969 they moved to Arizona.
Survivors are her husband; two sons, Ken Boontjer of Glendale, Ariz., and Keith Boontjer of Tempe; one daughter, Deanna Kennedy of Tempe; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Rose J. Rudiger
Former Clay Center resident Rose Jane (Hoyt) Rudiger, 94, of Kearney died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996, at St. John's Nursing Center in Kearney.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at McLaughlin Funeral Home chapel in Clay Center with the Rev. John Hooge officiating. Burial will be in Clay Center Cemetery.
Mrs. Rudiger was born Nov. 23, 1902, to William G. and Dora (Daily) Hoyt in Portis, Kan. She attended public schools in Kansas and Nebraska. She received a registered nursing degree from Omaha Covenant Hospital in 1925. She worked in child evangelism in Clay Center, Harvard and Grand Island. She later became city director. She also served as a camp nurse for a number of years. In 1926 she married Lawrence Rudiger. He died in 1965.
She was a member of Clay Center Christian Church until 1962 when she moved to Grand Island. She was a charter member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
Survivors are five daughters, Eloise Heitfeld of Oklahoma City, Okla., Eleanor Anderson of Prairie Home, Mo., Pauline Hanlin of Kearney, Darlene Romig of New London, Kan., and Jean Wright of Horton, Kan.; one son, Herman of Oklahoma City; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by three sons, Donald, James and John; and five grandchildren.

Robert M. Stephens
Former Hastings resident Robert M. Stephens, 92, of Lindor Heights, Mass., died Friday, Dec. 20, 1996, in Holyoke Hospital in Holyoke, Mass.
Services were Dec. 23 at Edward F. Day Funeral Home chapel in Holyoke. Burial was in Forestdale Cemetery. Curran-Jones Funeral Homes of West Springfield was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stephens was born Jan. 29, 1904, in Hastings. His father was Perry Stephens. He was a 1928 graduate of the University of Nebraska where he was an All-American quarterback. He was one of the University's oldest living lettermen. He began his 40-year career at General Electric in Schenectady, N.Y., and later General Electric in Pittsfield, Mass. He retired from the Holyoke General Electric plant in 1969. He supervised electric motors at the Hoover Dam project for General Electric. He married Marion Binderup. She died in 1987.
He was an active booster in UNL's athletic programs. He was an active member of the Holyoke Rotary Club, Hamden Radio Club and Mount Tom Repeaters Club.

Frieda S. Hobelmann
Deshler resident Frieda S. (Bostelmann) Hobelmann, 91, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996, at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Deshler with the Rev. Joseph Schultz officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Byron. Visitation is at Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Home in Belleville, Kan.
Mrs. Hobelmann was born July 31, 1905, to George and Anna (Hoops) Bostelmann in rural Byron. On Nov. 18, 1928, she married Harold Hobelmann. He preceded her in death.
Survivors are three sons, Delmar of Byron, Dean of Republic, Kan., and Wayne of Kansas City, Kan.; one sister, Irene Hobelmann of Hebron; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Victor G. Luce
Pleasanton resident Victor G. Luce, 69, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, at the Veterans Home in Grand Island.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pleasanton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Majors Cemetery southeast of Pleasanton in Buffalo County. Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary of Kearney is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter; two sons, including Larry Luce of Hastings; his mother; two sisters; two brothers; and nine grandchildren.
Marvin V. Albers
Hildreth resident Marvin V. Albers, 68, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996, at Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church south of Hildreth with the Rev. John Erlandson officiating. Burial will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Jelden-Layton Funeral Home in Hildreth. The casket will be closed.
Mr. Albers was born Aug. 7, 1928, to Ralph and Anna (Hemje) Albers in Hildreth. He grew up in the Hildreth area. He graduated from Hildreth High School. In 1951 he married Donna Jurgens. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was stationed at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyo. They returned to the Hildreth area where they farmed.
He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hildreth VFW and Hildreth Lions Club.
Survivors are three sons, Larry and Lonnie, both of Lincoln, and Kim of Hickory, N.C.; two daughters, Sheila Sierk of Huntsville, Ala., and Sonia Dohmen of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; one brother, Ralph Jr. of Hildreth; one sister, Evelyn Stratman of Hildreth; 12 grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Memorials may be given to the Hildreth Lions Club.
Clyde E. Hanson
Former Webster County resident Clyde E. Hanson, 82, of Burrton, Kan., died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, at Hutchinson Hospital in Hutchinson, Kan.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Johnson and Sons Memorial Chapel in Hutchinson with the Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hanson was born June 5, 1914, to Charles and Martha (Phillips) Hanson in Webster County. On Sept. 29, 1940, he married Viola V. Shipman in Smith Center, Kan. He was a farmer. He retired in 1981. In 1991 he moved to the Hutchinson area from Inavale.
Survivors are his wife; one son, Michael E. of Burrton; one daughter, Martha Kugler of Riverton; three sisters, Eunice Fritz of Bladen, Bernice Schacketon of Kansas City, Kan., and Ermal Wilson of Inavale; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ervin L. Sydow
Hastings resident Ervin L. Sydow, 68, of 714 W. E St. died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 1996, at Lakeview Nursing Home in Grand Island.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard Kothe officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Visitation is 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home.
Mr. Sydow was born May 1, 1927, to Arthur and Viola (Kirckof) Sydow in Henning, Minn. On June 6, 1945, he married Ardyce Christiansen. He was manager of Dilly's Service Station for several years. He retired in 1990.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Karen Sue Ganskow and Debra Kay Goodrich, both of Hastings; three sisters, Edna Sourer and LoRayne Hoffart, both of Hastings, and Sylvia Hill of Ogallala; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Richard, two brothers and two sisters.

Carl O. Dahlgren
Former Superior resident Carl O. Dahlgren, 89, of Kansas City, Kan., died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 1996, at Providence Place in Kansas City.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home chapel in Superior with the Rev. Joan Gaines officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery north of Superior.
Mr. Dahlgren was born to Charles and Elizabeth Dahlgren in Superior. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. In 1969, he moved to Kansas City. He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad.
He was a member of American Legion, VFW, IOOF Lodge, Wyandotte County Teachers Association and Victory Drive Senior Citizens.
Survivor is his wife, Etta Blanche.
Memorials may be given to United Presbyterian Church in Superior, Agriculture Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, Kan., or the Wyandotte County Retired Teachers Association Fund at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
Marie Crispin
Former Superior resident Marie Crispin, 99, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 1996, at Good Samaritan Center in Nelson.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Webber, Kan., with the Revs. Joan Gaines and Linda Willey officiating. Burial will be in Webber Cemetery at Webber. Williams Funeral Home of Superior is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Crispin was born Oct. 23, 1896, to John S. and May (Byers) Graham on a farm near Webber in Jewell County. She attended school in Webber. On May 23, 1939, she married Dale Crispin in Hastings. They lived on his father's homestead in Republican Valley, Kan. In 1977, they sold the farm, retired and moved to Superior. In 1990, they moved to Good Samaritan Home in Nelson.
Survivors are her husband; and two half-sisters, Lucile Graham and Dorothy Sloan, both of Las Cruces, N.M.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and one half-sister.
Cheryl L. Kottwitz
Former Hastings resident Cheryl L. Kottwitz, 41, of Galesburg, Ill., died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 1996, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center at Omaha.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Butler-Volland Funeral Home chapel in Hastings with the Rev. Ken Buttermore officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery at Hastings.
Mrs. Kottwitz was born Jan. 9, 1955, to Glen and L. Ivoldene (Crabtree) Shaneyfelt in Superior. She graduated from Norfolk High School. She attended Kearney State College and Central Community College-Hastings. She was a computer programmer for a company that specialized in banking institutions in the Midwest. In September 1981, she married Dennis Kottwitz in Bennett. They moved to York for three years, then to Springfield, Mo., and then to Fenton, Mo., in 1991. In 1994, they moved to Galesburg. She was active in Crisis Pregnancy Center in St. Louis and was a home school mother.
Survivors are her husband and four daughters, Emily Lou, Kristin Fay, Amber Lee and Bethany Dale; her father of Norfolk; two sisters, Glenda Felber of Omaha and Georgia Briggs of Manhattan, Kan.; and one brother, Rick Shaneyfelt of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
