Dennis C. Latham
Former Superior resident Dennis Charles Latham, 68, of Sun City, Ariz., died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 1995, at Boswell Hospital in Sun City.
Memorial services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Megrue-Price Funeral Home chapel in Superior with Superior Masonic Lodge No. 121 A.M. & A.F. officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Latham was born Sept. 15, 1927, to Dennis Clyde and Anna Marie (Marshall) Latham in Superior. He graduated from Superior High School in 1945. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for one year. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946-47. He returned to Superior where he worked for Lionbergers. The store was later sold to Brown Shoe Fit Co., where he also worked. In 1959, he was transferred to Burlington, Iowa. The next year he transferred to Webster City, Iowa, where he was manager. He left the company in 1964. After living in Sioux Falls, S.D., for four years, he went to work for the Red Wing Shoe Co. He managed the franchise store in Lakewood, Colo., for 10 years. He then moved to Houston, Texas, where he was a training manager for eight years. He retired in 1992 and moved to Sun City.
He was a member of Superior Masonic Lodge No. 121 A.M. & A.F.
He is survived by a brother, Omer R. of Sun City.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Florence M. Field
Former Jewell County, Kan., resident Florence Marjorie (Clemons) Field, 90, of Wichita, Kan., died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1995, at Westview Manor in Derby, Kan.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Kramer Funeral Home chapel in Mankato, Kan., with the Rev. Thaddeus Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Esbon Cemetery at Esbon, Kan. Visitation is this evening and Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Field was born Sept. 20, 1905, to Wilber Emory and Mary Grace (Fogo) Clemons in Otego, Kan. On Dec. 31, 1925, she married Clarence Everett Field in Mankato. He died June 25, 1980. She lived in Mankato and Burr Oak, Kan., before moving to Wichita 52 years ago.
She was a member of the VFW and American Legion auxiliaries.
Survivors are one daughter, Ila Schmid of Derby; four sons, Lowell and Max of Wichita, Lewis of Mountain View, Ark., and Joe of Copperas Cove, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Audrey A. Heifner
Hastings resident Audrey A. (Aumiller) Kaus Heifner, 65, of rural Hastings died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 1995, at her home.
Rosary is 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home chapel. Services are 10 a.m. Monday at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Matya officiating. Burial will be in Harvard Cemetery at Harvard. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Heifner was born April 1, 1930, to Winslow and Zola (Ritter) Aumiller in Selden, Kan. She married Augustine Kaus. He died in 1971. Later in 1971, she married Paul Heifner. They lived in the rural Hastings and Harvard areas.
She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.
Survivors are her husband; one daughter, Donna Soneson of Hastings; four sons, Andrew Kaus and John Heifner, both of Hastings, Michael Heifner of Joplin, Mo., and Patrick Heifner of Bloomington, Ind.; one sister, Lona Parker of Dodge City, Kan.; two brothers, Dwight Aumiller and Carroll Aumiller, both of Harvard; and five grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
A memorial has been established.
Rex E. Averill
Hastings resident Rex E. Averill, 82, of 16 Kingston Drive died Thursday, Nov. 9, 1995, at Good Samaritan Village Villa Grace.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Joe Scahill officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens north of Hastings at a later date. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until services Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Averill was born March 30, 1913, to Lewis S. and Jane (Gregg) Averill at Harvard. He graduated from Harvard High School in 1931. He served one year in Civilian Conservation Corps. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and Military Police during World War II in the European Theatre attached to 3rd Army. For 17 years he was a truck driver and produce buyer. He was employed by Hastings Utilities from 1955 to 1978. He married Caroline E. Fagan May 27, 1935. She preceded him in death. On June 3, 1960, he married Ruth E. Rhodes.
He was a member of Methodist Church, Eagles, Military Order of the Cooties and a life member of both the VFW and DAV. He was past commander of the VFW.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Kay Enderle of Lincoln and Patricia Butterfield of St. Charles, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Linda Osten and Dorothy Elliot, both of Lincoln; two stepsons, Gary Dale Rhodes of Las Vegas, Nev., and Donald Lee Rhodes of Clarks; and two sisters, Orpha Curtis of Hastings and Genevieve Hart of North Platte.
He also was preceded in death by three sisters and several brothers.
Nelle E. Dill
Belvidere resident Nelle E. Dill, 98, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, in Hebron.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at United Church of Christ in Belvidere with the Rev. Don Studley officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Price Funeral Home of Hebron is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dill was born Feb. 18, 1897, in Belvidere.
Survivors are two sons, Jack of Lakewood, Colo., and Bob of Belvidere; four daughters, Jean Anderson of Garland, Texas, Joanne Messman of Bruning, Carol Lehmkuhl of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and Barbara Beechner of Kearney; five sisters, Grace Phelps of Wichita, Kan., and Maud Young, Muriel Williamson, Frances Trumble and Sue Trumble, all of Belvidere; 16 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to United Church of Christ.
Roy F. Most
Geneva resident Roy F. Most, 93, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, in Geneva.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ohiowa with the Revs. Les and Bonnie Larsen officiating. Burial will be in Ohiowa Public Cemetery. Visitation is at Farmer and Son Funeral Home in Geneva.
Mr. Most was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife, Velma; two sons, Verlin of Geneva and Gaylen of Lincoln; one brother, Jess of Ohiowa; one sister, Hazel Strope of Geneva; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Wanda C. Schultz
Former Nelson resident Wanda C. (Gharring) Schultz, 74, of Lincoln died Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson with the Rev. James Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until services Tuesday at Klawitter-Price Funeral Home in Nelson.
Mrs. Schultz was born Feb. 26, 1921, to Alfred Zabounty and Aletha Golda (Morehead) Gharring near Nelson. She attended Pleasant View District country school. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1939. On May 25, 1939, she married Gerald H. Schultz. She also lived in Superior and Lincoln.
She was a member of Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary and past member of Rebekah Lodge, all of Nelson.
Survivors are two daughters, Carolyn Drohman of Nelson and Marilyn Carlson of Lincoln; one son, Gerry of Rock Springs, Wyo.; one brother, Ivan Gharring of Nelson; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Marie M. Walker
Former Hastings resident Marie M. (Doyen) Walker, 80, of Silver Lake, Kan., died Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, at Rossville Nursing Home in Silver Lake.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens north of Hastings. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral Home.
Mrs. Walker was born Nov. 26, 1914, to Carl and Minnie (Shafer) Doyen in Macon. On March 28, 1937, she married Dale William Walker. He died in 1984. She lived in Hastings more than 50 years. She worked at Mode-O-Day.
She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Hastings, VFW Auxiliary No. 1346 of which she was past secretary, and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Gold Star Sister in both the VFW and American Legion auxiliaries.
Survivors are one daughter, Karen Buscher of Silver Lake; three sisters, Elsie Allen, Dorothy McMullen and Viola Kreinheder, all of Hastings; one brother, Lorance Doyen of Hastings; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers.
A memorial will be established.
Leona M. Johnson
Former Hastings resident Leona M. (Buss) Johnson, 75, of East View Court in Minden died Sunday, Nov. 12, 1995, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Donald Boeschen officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens north of Hastings. Visitation is noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson was born March 2, 1920, to Carl F. and Tina (Goos) Buss in Ayr. On Dec. 3, 1945, she married Warren K. Johnson. She worked in food service at Hastings Regional Center. She retired in 1982. Her husband died Feb. 19, 1989. She lived in Hastings most of her life, moving to Minden in March.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Survivors are one daughter, Jayne R. Hoban of Heartwell; one son, Randy of Pittsburg, Calif.; four sisters, Lucille Jensen and Verlene True, both of Hastings, Ardelle Holltorf of Lincoln and Vicky Watts of Omaha; one brother, Waldeen "Bud" Buss of Kensington, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by one sister.
Raymond R. Eigenberg
Former Inland resident Raymond R. Eigenberg, 78, of Omaha died Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, in Omaha.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church in Omaha. Burial with military rites provided by VFW Post No. 8334 and American Legion Post No. 374 will be in Millard Forest Lawn Cemetery at Omaha. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today with the family present from 7-9 p.m. at Crosby-Burket-Swanson-Golden Funeral Home in Omaha.
Survivors are his wife, Lela W.; four daughters, Carol Johnson of Omaha, Linda Carnes of Naperville, Ill., Marlee Gordon of Bellevue and Vickie Lien of Ralston; and five grandchildren.

Elta F. Bohling
Ruskin resident Elta F. Bohling, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 1995, at Good Samaritan Center in Nelson.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin with the Rev. Harold Laursen officiating. Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery at Ruskin. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior.
Mrs. Bohling was born May 19, 1912, to Otto and Emma (Stutheit) Oestmann near Johnson. She attended country school near Johnson. On Jan. 24, 1936, she married Herman H. Bohling in her parents' home. A blizzard prevented them from getting to the church. She lived in rural Johnson, Byron, Chester, Hardy, Deshler, Longmont, Colo., and Narka, Kan. She moved to the Good Samaritan Center when her husband died Feb. 4, 1995.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Survivors are three sons, Maynard of Wichita, Kan., Ronald of Las Vegas and Verdell of Lincoln; three daughters, Ramona Thayer of Ruskin, Loraine Anderson of Poland, Ind., and Debra Judy of Longmont; one brother, Norvel Oestmann of Johnson; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren.

Richard Huls
Former Hastings resident Richard Huls, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 1995, at david place nursing home in David City.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Thomas Murray officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
Mr. Huls was born March 8, 1917, to Charles and Rose (Tomes) Huls in Hastings. He lived most of his life in Hastings, moving to david place Sept. 1, 1977.
He is survived by a brother, David of Grand Island.

Almuth Saathoff
Clay County resident Almuth Saathoff, 101, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 1995, at Community Care of Edgar.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil with the Rev. Tim Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery. Butler-Volland Funeral Home of Hastings is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Saathoff was born Aug. 15, 1894, to Henrich and Feeke (Harms) Flesner in Inland. In August 1916, she married Bernhardt Saathoff. They farmed in Clay County. Her husband died in 1980. She moved to Community Care of Edgar in 1990.
She had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1910.
Survivors are five daughters, Lorna Hinrichs, Alice Paus and Wanda Hinrichs, all of Glenvil, Evelyn Fitzke of Fairfield and Gladys Eigenberg of Hastings; one half sister, Grace Shane of Glenvil; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, two half brothers and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Glenvil Cemetery.
Virginia J. Craft
Hastings resident Virginia J. (Roach) Craft, 73, of 411 S. Elm Ave. Apt. 115 died Monday, Nov. 13, 1995, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Butler-Volland Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. W.C. Westman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Trumbull.
Mrs. Craft was born Jan. 24, 1922, to Horace and Mary (Sampson) Roach in Oxford. She attended school in Laird. In 1943, she married Earl Craft. They moved to Hastings from Wray, Colo. Her husband died in 1969. She was a nurse's aid at Good Samaritan Village for 20 years.
She was a foster grandparent.
Survivors are one son, Dennis of Denver; four sisters, Betty Winden and Ollie Loop, both of Wray, Francis Larimer of Denver and Margaret Stasser of St. Francis, Kan.; two brothers, Marlin Roach of Benkelman and Lowell Roach of Apple Valley, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Wilferd 'Bill' Dalluge
Former Nuckolls County resident Wilferd Raymond "Bill" Dalluge, 80, of Warden, Wash., died Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, at Terrace Heights Nursing Care Center in Moses Lake, Wash.
Rosary is 6 p.m. today at Kayser's Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Warden with the Rev. John Morse officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake.
Mr. Dalluge was born June 24, 1915, to Amel and Tracy (Brym) Dalluge in Nuckolls County. On Dec. 22, 1942, he married Iola June HofMann at Camp Polk, La. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in World War II. After his discharge, they moved to Fairfield. In 1949, they moved to Pavillion, Wyo., and then to Warden in 1955.
He was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, Warden Senior Citizens and a past member of Warden Grange and Warden Fair Board.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Richard of Moses Lake, Keith of Snohomish, Wash., and Robert of Portland, Ore.; three daughters, Ruth Berry and Theresa Denny, both of Maryville, Tenn., and Anita Smith of Auburn, Wash.; one brother, M.E. "Dutch" of Orchard Park, N.Y.; three sisters, Lillyanna Arnold of North Platte, Eleanor Roberts of Hastings and Darlene Schliep of Fairfield; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Dorothy Overman
Hebron resident Dorothy Overman, 92, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 1995, in Hebron.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Home chapel in Hebron with Sylvia Cross officiating. Burial will be in Western Cemetery at Western. Visitation is until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Overman was born Sept. 21, 1903, in Western.
Survivors are two sisters, Lucile Inglis of Denver and Ulalie Wiegers of Mission, Texas.

Alberta Ware
Red Cloud resident Alberta (Koon) Ware, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1995, at Webster County Hospital in Red Cloud.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Red Cloud with the Rev. Dennis R. Linton-Hendrick officiating. Burial will be in Red Cloud Cemetery. Simonson-Williams Funeral Home of Red Cloud is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ware was born Oct. 28, 1910, to William L. and Myrtle (Duckworth) Koon in Red Cloud. She graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1930. She attended Wesleyan University and received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She taught rural schools in Webster County. On June 28, 1936, she married Carl Ware. They lived in Red Cloud.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Daughters of the Nile Naamah Temple No. 108, Order of the Eastern Star Charity Chapter No. 47 and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Viletta Sue Powell of South Sioux City and Marcia Thompson of Red Cloud; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the family.
