Coleman - Dorothy Irene, 97, Greeley, Colo., former lifelong Lincoln resident, died Saturday (9/22/2001). Born on farm near Mound City, Mo., (9/29/06) youngest of nine children, to Robert and Flora (Skeels) Cottier. Family moved to Lincoln, 1914. Attended elementary school and graduated, Bethany High School, 1925, where she was a star basketball player. Attended Cotner College and University of Nebraska. Married Watson Sheffer Coleman, 6/21/33 at Bethany Christian Church in Lincoln. He was retired from Northeast High School faculty. They lived in Lincoln most of their marriage. In September 2001 she moved to Greeley, Colo., to be with daughter. Before marriage, taught kindergarten at Havelock Elementary School, Lincoln. Later developed Bryan Memorial Day Care Center at Bryan Memorial Hospital and was its director for many years before retirement. Member, Bethany Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship, charter member of Bethany Lioness Club, Columbia Chapter OES, Bethany Woman's Club, Havelock Retired Teachers, Nebraska Education Association and Retired Northeast Faculty Wives.
