Shaner - Carl Kenneth and Iva Luree, Lincoln, died Wednesday (2/6/2002).
Carl, 90, born Rokeby (2/7/11) to John Henry and Florence (Smith) Shaner. On May 23, 1936, was united in marriage to Iva Luree Powell. Retired from Cushman Motor Co., 1975. He lived in Washington, D.C., during World War II, working for the Navy gun factory as machinist. Farmed in Holmesville for 15 years. Lived in Weslaco, Texas, for 20 years of retirement. Coached men's baseball team in Holmesville. Member, St. James United Methodist Church; Lincoln Continentals; East Lincoln Masonic Lodge 210; past patron, Eastern Star 148; past high priest, Capstone Chapter Royal Arch Masonic Lodge 64; Sesostris Temple; Lincoln Shrine Clowns. He loved baseball, singing and helping with the Shriner's crippled children's program.

Iva, 88, born Powell (4/30/13) to George and Lena (Ekwall) Powell. Graduated, Holmesville High School, 1932. Lived in Washington, D.C., during World War II. Former resident of Holmesville and Weslaco, Texas. Worked at Formfit in Beatrice and Sears Roebuck in Lincoln. On May 23, 1936, was united in marriage to Carl K. Shaner. Member, St. James United Methodist Church; Bryan board; United Methodist Women's Society; Lincoln Chapter of the Eastern Star, treasurer for several years; 4-H leader, five years. She loved to sew, crochet, knit and do crafts.
Preceded in death by husband, Carl K.; parents.
