Graduated, Carroll High School; bachelor's degree, University of Nebraska; master's degree and doctorate, University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colo. Taught business education and music before joining UNL staff where he coordinated workshops for Division of Continuing Education. His favorite was the church music workshops in conjunction with the School of Music. Married, N. Jean (Nelsen), June 12, 1949, in Presbyterian Church, Lyons. They have three daughters. He had a wide range of interests. He was 100 percent Welsh and served many ways in St. David's Welsh Society of Nebraska. Board member of National Gamanfa Ganu Association; attended its annual national meeting 18 years. Instrumental in bringing two large men's choirs from Wales to Lincoln to give concerts. Music was another of his interests, including church music, jazz and classical. Member of International Association of Jazz Educators and attended its annual meeting many years. Member, Eastridge Presbyterian Church, served as elder, deacon, choir member and on music committee. Active member, Lincoln Center Kiwanis Club, served on many committees.
