Zersen - Ruth S., 83, York, died Sunday (3/3/2002). Born, Lincoln (6/21/18) to Mathias and Susanna (Wurm) Segner. 1936 graduate, Lincoln High School. Attended business school in Lincoln. Employed, music librarian and religious director, KFAB Radio, Lincoln. Married to Donald H. Zersen (10/3/46) at Galva, Iowa, and they moved to a farm near Gresham. Member, St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Gresham. Was very active in church and community activities, including helping to reorganize the Gresham Public Library. Retiring to town in 1964, Ruth began painting in watercolor and became a well-known local artist. Member, Avenue Art Gallery, Lincoln; York Artists Guild. She was an insulin-dependent diabetic for more than 35 years.
Survivors: husband, Don; daughter, Donna Boye, Gresham; grandson, spouse, Brian and Jodie Boye, Seward; granddaughter, Darlyn Boye, Gresham; sister, Marguerite Segner, Stromsburg. Preceded in death by parents; brother, sister-in-law, Calvin and Ann Segner.

Krueger - Clarence Chester, 82, Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly Lincoln, died Monday (3/4/2002). Born, Webster, S.D. (11/30/19) to George and Emma (Kuecker). Raised on farm near Webster, graduated from Webster High School, 1938, where he played football and basketball. Served, U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed for a time at Panama Canal. In 1943 married Genevieve Johnson, who passed away in 1983. After war, made his home and reared family in Lincoln. Founder, owner, Krueger Construction Co. in Lincoln; specialized in custom homes, operating for 36 years. Member, Elks Lodge, American Legion and Hillcrest Country Club, where he was avid golfer. Involved in a number of professional organizations including National Home Builders Association. In 1968 served as president of Nebraska State Homebuilders Association. Honored as Home Builder of the Year in 1971. Served as director and past president, Home Builders Association of Lincoln. Also served as director of its credit union and as membership chairman. Also a consultant for House Beautiful Magazine and chairman of Parade of Homes in 1971. Having spent winters in Scottsdale many years, he eventually made his home there with his wife, Wilma, of 16 years. Enjoyed travel, opera, fishing and sports throughout his life.
Survivors: loving wife, Wilma; brother, Clayton and wife Ila, Lincoln; sister, Carol Schoenleber and husband, Kenneth, Lincoln; daughters, Diane Troyer and husband, Daryl, Houston, Patricia Bowra and husband Richard, Harrisburg, Pa., Julie Smartt and husband Daniel, El Paso, Texas; stepson, Ron Dickson and wife Teresa, Lenexa, Kan.; stepdaughter, Patty Dearlove and husband Steve, Burlington, Iowa; seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by first wife, Genevieve; son, David; sister, Irene Riley; brothers, Wesley, Frank and Lavern.
