Someone like this comes along once in a great while.
A handsome man, with a heart as wide as a mile.
He was wonderful and beautiful, made us feel loved.
I can feel him now, looking down from above.
A wonderful husband, is what many would say.
He held her heart tight, day by day.
With love so great, it was very rare.
God and bad times they would share.
Others would say an awesome dad.
He was so wonderful with everything he had.
An awesome Grandpa! Is what I can say.
I loved his stories even when they became bleak and grey.
So happy that we had as great a man as he.
One of the best, anyone could see.
He was a great-grandpa just as well.
With memories so grand, no one would sell.
Let's go home, God said taking him by the hand.
"Yes, sir," he said, and followed his command.
I know that it was his time to fly.
I love you, Grandpa Jim, good-bye.
Written by granddaughter,
Heather Oliver
