Services are 2 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Silver Creek with the Rev. Bev Minor officiating. Burial is at Silver Creek Cemetery.

Payton was born March 17, 2000, to Travis Kula and Carmen Condon in Lincoln.
Survivors include his parents; grandparents, Todd and Cindy Condon of Bellevue, Dave and Deb Engel of Silver Creek and Ed Kula of Lincoln; great-grandparents, Vance and Mona Condon of Silver Creek, LaVonne Engel of Silver Creek, Mary Kula of Silver Creek, Helen Staniec of Silver Creek, Deanna Carman of Columbus, Connie Francis of Omaha, Frank Carman of Omaha, and David Francis of Lincoln; great-great-grandparents, Jessie Hendrickson of Silver Creek, Lois Condon of Aurora, Viola Kroeker of Marquette.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rose Kula and great-grandfathers.
Clarence Janssen
COLUMBUS - Clarence W. Janssen, 81, 3622 18th St., died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Columbus Community Hospital Inc. in Columbus.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran in Columbus with Rev Michael V. Klatt officiating. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery in Creston.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. today at McKown Funeral Home of Columbus with a prayer service at 8 p.m.and 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Mr. Janssen was born Aug. 15, 1918, in Humphrey to John and Emma (Theilen) Janssen. He received his education in Humphrey Township and Immanuel Lutheran School.
On March 28, 1940, he married Alice Luedtke in Creston. He worked for the City Parks, then worked as the grounds superintendent at Van Berg Golf Course followed by the Elks Country Club until his retirement in 1980. He enjoyed listening to and playing accordian music. He played with the Accordian Jamboree and with the Button Box Boys.
He was a member of the church, was a 4-H leader and organized the Happy Hollow Club.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Charles J. (Alice) of Brighton, Colo., Duane F. (Kandie) of Odessa, Texas, Donald D. (Cindy) of Columbus and Richard (special friend Georgia Mastin) of Lyndon, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter and two infant sons.
Anna Loseke
LEIGH - Anna B. Loseke, 91, of Leigh, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at Columbus Community Hospital Inc.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh with the Revs. Brad Birtell and John Nelson Jr. officiating. Burial is in the parish cemetery.
Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today at Leigh Memorial Funeral Chapel in Leigh. Visitation continues from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Loseke was born July 5, 1908, in rural Dodge to Frank and Stephanie Mary (Pekny) Studnicka. She attended school at Stanton County District 40 north of Clarkson.
She married Otto T. Loseke Oct. 27, 1936, in Leigh. They farmed and lived near Creston until retiring to Leigh in November 1975. Her husband died March 26, 1980. She was a member of the church, Ladies Aid and the Women's Club. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and spending time with her friends and family.
Survivors include two sons, Loren (Doris) of Leigh and Gary (Kris) of Minier, Ill.; one daughter, Lorna (Leroy) Kapels of Creston; two sisters, Lillian Plisek of Norfolk and Helen Vach of Hooper; one brother, Emil Studnicka of Clarkson; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Raymond; two sisters, Mary Novotny and Adella Studnicka; and five brothers, James, Adolph, Frank, Joseph and Rudolph Studnicka.

Mrs. Moon was born Nov. 25, 1907, in Ava, Mo., to Gene and Jennie (Ferris) Reynolds. She went to Peru State College in Peru and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
She married Glen H. Moon on Aug. 11, 1935, in Omaha. She lived in Shelby and was an elementary school teacher.
She was a member of the church.
Survivors include one son, Roger (Judy) Moon of Shelby; one daughter, Bonnie Gregory of Denver; one brother, Basil (Helen) Hendrix of Portland, Ind.; one sister, Geraldine Gant of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 21, 1972.

Mrs. Bird was born Oct. 26, 1919, in Columbus to Richard and Ella (Mills) Berger. She graduated from Kramer High School in 1938.
She married Wesley Bird July 7, 1945, in Columbus. The couple lived in Columbus, where she worked at Becton-Dickinson for 20 years.
She was a member of the St. Theresa Sodality and the church.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Bill (Connie) Bird of Columbus; one daughter, Jeanette (Hart) Mikkelsen of Columbus; a half-brother, Raymond (Rita) Berger of Columbus; a stepsister-in-law, Dona Ridenour of Columbus; a stepbrother, Robert (Anna Mae) Ridenour of Coarse Gold, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Pearl Berger; one brother, Richard Berger; one stepsister, Evelyn "Sissy" Keith; and one stepbrother, Edwin "Scoop" Ridenour.

Mrs. Indra was born Nov. 14, 1914, at Clarkson to John and Agnes (Klamp) Lacina. She attended Clarkson schools.
She married Robert Indra Aug. 20, 1934, in Schuyler. She lived most of her life in the Clarkson area and in 1997 moved to Central City.
She loved to travel, garden, cook, sew, read and spend time with her pets. She was a member of the church.
Survivors include one daughter, Lylus (Don) Franzen of Central City; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Knorr of Schuyler and Rose Pedley of Lehigh Acres, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband in September 1993; two brothers, Amos Lacina and Joseph Lacina; and one sister, Bessie Lacina.

COLUMBUS -- Rose Ann Tuma, 92, of Columbus died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at the Columbus Community Hospital Inc.

Ben was born Sept. 28, 1983, in Columbus to Gary and Lana (Kroeger) Hoover. He received his education at North Park Elementary School and Columbus Middle School. He graduated from Columbus High School in 2002. He also lived in Schuyler and Shelby for a period of time before returning to Columbus.
He was an avid professional wrestling fan. He had aspirations of entering professional wrestling as a career. Throughout his illness, he strived to complete this goal.
Survivors include his mother ; three brothers, Barry Herout of Omaha, Brian (Nichole) Herout of Columbus and Brock Hoover of Howells; his grandmother, Betty Hoover of Grand Island; grandparents, Kenneth and Marjorie Kroeger of Schuyler; and his stepfather, Scott Ward of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his father; and his grandfather, Don Hoover.

Pauline Leaders
SCHUYLER - Pauline L. Leaders, 88, of Omaha, formerly of Schuyler, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the Christ United Methodist Church in Schuyler with the Rev. Janice Soule officiating. Burial will be at the Schuyler Cemetery.
Visitation will be today until 8 p.m. at the Kracl Funeral Chapel in Schuyler with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Mrs. Leaders was born June 28, 1912, in Colfax County to Joe and Stazie (Pytlicek) Holoubek and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1931.
She lived most of her life in Schuyler and worked at Schuyler Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide from 1955-74.
She was a member of the church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Gold Star Mothers and the Schuyler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Ron (Shirley) Longacre of Bellevue, Mick of Omaha and Ted (Lana) Longacre of Omaha; three daughters, Gayle (Harold) Ladehoff of Schuyler, Linda Gilbert of Omaha and Kathy (Don) Brink of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Edith Bogner and Louise Meredith, both of Columbus; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands Ted Longacre, Ben Freeman and Ralph Leaders; one sister, Mildred Vondracek; and a brother, Francis "Lucky" Holoubek.

Mrs. Wacha was born July 24, 1905, in Schuyler to William A. and Lucy (Prokes) Dworak. She attended Schuyler Public Schools and graduated in 1923. She was a homemaker.
She married Arnold Wacha on June 6, 1928, in Omaha.
She had been a resident of Arbor Manor since July 1999.
Survivors include two nieces, Joan (Jack) Warriner of Tulsa, Okla., and Judy England of Neosho, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 7, 1971; one sister, Alma Gunn; and three brothers, John Dworak, Philip Dworak and Robert Dworak.
Loyal Petersen
OSMOND -- Loyal Francis (L.F.) Petersen, 86, of Osmond died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at the Osmond General Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Osmond with the Rev. Alexander Wild officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Osmond.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Ashburn Funeral Home in Osmond and will continue at 7 p.m. at the church followed by a rosary at 7:30 p.m. by Catholic Order of Foresters.
Mr. Petersen was born Feb. 17, 1915, at Opportunity (near O'Neill) to Henry and Agnes (Theisen) Petersen. Shortly afterward, the family moved to California where his father died. Then the family moved back to the Osmond area when he was 3 years old. He was educated at St. Mary's Catholic School in Osmond, and graduated from Osmond High School in 1934.
He married Genevieve Pearl Stamper in Osmond.
He was an active member of the community for over 65 years as a business owner. His business was Petersen & Son Inc., and included Zimmatic center pivot irrigation, grain bins, buildings, fertilizer and chemical sales and service with three additional store locations in Hartington, O'Neill and Centerville, S.D. The company received top dealer awards from Lindsay Mfg. Co., Superior Grain Bins and Grain Systems Inc. throughout the years. He held patents on the "Petersen SurStop" and "Petersen RainStop" for use on center pivots.
He had a Petersen Agri Sales in Columbus.
He was a member of the church and served as trustee for many years as well as belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters for 60 years.
He loved to play cards, spend time with friends, recycle, show family photos and participate in selling raffle tickets for benefits.
Survivors include one son, Gerald (Donna) Petersen of Battle Creek; five daughters, Joan (Jack) Leuck of Pekin, Ill., Diane (Tom) Borst of Osmond, Linda (Joe) Berzina of Rapid City, S.D. , Mary (Stanley) Wragge of Norfolk and Ann Petersen (Alan McCall) of Corrales, N.M.; 18 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepsister, Angela Craven.
He was preceded in death by his wife on March 5, 2001; three brothers, Kenneth Petersen, Woodrow Petersen and Palmer Petersen; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Addison Petersen; stepfather, Henry Borgmann; four stepbrothers and three stepsisters.
Edna Ferris
GENOA -- Edna Ferris, 94, of Genoa, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Columbus Community Hospital.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Genoa, with the Rev. Hugo Westphal officiating. Burial in Silver Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Patrick Funeral Chapel, Genoa.
Mrs. Ferris was born May 30, 1908, in Aliceville, Kan., to Alfred and Carrie (Hodge) Hinkle. The family moved to Silver Creek when she was 5 years old. She graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1929.
On Aug. 21, 1929, she was married to Clarence Ferris at Columbus Courthouse. The couple farmed in the Silver Creek area until they moved to Genoa in 1936.
She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and she was a Sunday School teacher and part of the Sunday School Education Club.
Survivors include a son, Charles, of Genoa and daughter Doris (Raymond) Olson of Genoa; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Richard, and infant twins.
Memorials can be made to the United Methodist Women and the United Methodist Church, Genoa.
