Jean Campbell
CENTRAL CITY -- Jean V. Campbell, 77, of Central City died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at St. Francis Skilled Care in Grand Island.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Miss Campbell was born July 7, 1925, in Palmer to Lloyd and Doris (Anderson) Campbell.
Survivors of the immediate family include three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Donald R. Campbell of Scottsbluff and Dale and Twila and Duane and Ellen, all of Central City, and a brother-in-law, Leo Heinemann of Scottsbluff.
Howard Casey
DANNEBROG -- Howard J. Casey, 87, of Dannebrog died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare Park Place in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Dannebrog. The Rev. Robert Carlson Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakridge cemetery at Dannebrog, with military rites provided by Mickelsen-Larkowski American Legion Post 241 of Dannebrog.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Casey was born April 28, 1915, in St. Augustine County, Texas, to Henry and Amanda (Howard) Casey.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Valnetta "Val" (Miller) Casey, and two daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Webster McEnvoy of Pasadena, Texas, and Sue Cullun of Dallas.
Also surviving are six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Casey grew up and received his elementary and high school education in Texas. He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp in Jacksonville, Texas. He then entered the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1941. During World War II, he flew the scout plane for bomb squadrons. He was discharged in 1945.
Mr. Casey then made his home in Waco, Texas, where he was employed by Pennsylvania Life Insurance Company. At one time, he was a five state manager for the Pennsylvania Life Insurance Co.
On April 26, 1957, he married
Valnetta Miller at Demig, N.M. The couple made their home in Texas. After a 30-year career with Pennsylvania Life Insurance Co., Mr. Casey retired. The couple remained in Texas until moving to Dannebrog in July 2002. He entered Beverly Healthcare Park Place on Dec. 5.
Mr. Casey loved hunting, especially raccoon hunting and loved his dogs.
During his career, Mr. Casey was actively involved with the Republican Party in Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Dannebrog EMT Unit or the donor's choice.
Meta Lawrence
PALMER -- Meta W. Lawrence, 86, of Palmer died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Central City Care Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Palmer. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Palmer Funeral Home in Palmer.
Ruth Oberg
96, Homemaker
CENTRAL CITY -- Ruth E. Oberg, 96, of Central City, formerly of Polk, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. John Baker will officiate. Burial will be in the Polk Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Oberg was born Aug. 17, 1906, in Denver to Henry and Augusta Skoglund.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd M. Oberg, on June 25, 1967.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Mervin H. and Kathleen Oberg of Polk.
Nancy Scott
OMAHA -- Nancy Scott, 39, of Omaha died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Christian Church in Omaha.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m Wednesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Scott was born June 6, 1963, at Omaha to Robert and Peggy Noah.
Survivors include her husband, Randall "Scotty"; a son, Randall Jr.; her parents of Bentonville, Ariz.; and five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Margaret and Mike McCall, Theresa Noah, Shirley and Mike Carlson and Roberta Noah, all of Omaha, and Susan Vasquez of Dodge City, Kan.
Additional survivors include her mother-in-law, Lois Scott of Grand Island; three brothers-in-law, Dennis and wife Mary Scott of Grand Island, Keith Scott of Texas, and William and wife Thelma Scott of Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Joyce Brown of Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
'Bob' L'wenstein Sr.
BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- Robert "Bob" L. L'wenstein Sr., 76, of Boulder City, Nev., died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at St. Andrews Church in Boulder City, Nev.
Mr. L'wenstein was born Oct. 1, 1926, at Kearney to Alva and Opal (St'rer) L'wenstein.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Margie; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Lyn Taylor of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Cindy L'wenstein of Grand Island, Richard and Deb L'wenstein of Windsor, Colo., and Ronald and Brenda L'wenstein of Houston; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Amber and Brett Bartholomew of Boulder City, Nev.; two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Jim and Pelar Johnson and Todd and Sara Johnson, all of Seattle; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Naomi L'wenstein of California.
He was also survived by grandchildren, Michelle, Jason, Lisa, Sara, Jennifer and Elena; great-grandchildren, James, Shawn, Johnny, Hope and Austin; and step grandchildren, Zachary, Madison, Matthew, Brianne, James, Mitchell and Mason.
He spent most of his adult working life in California. He moved to Paramount, Calif., in 1954 and he owned and operated his own business for 40 years, Bob's Recreational Vehicles. After retiring, he lived in Arizona and Idaho, and then moved to Boulder City in 1995.
Bob was a robust, fun-loving, adventurous, hard-working man who loved to participate in outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, dune-buggy riding and boating. Even when he retired, he had the energy of a much younger man who loved to buy and sell vehicles, build and remodel his homes in Boulder City and Idaho, putter in the backyard with all his "toys" and enjoy the outdoor life he always loved.
He had several near-death experiences in his life, but died peacefully in his sleep as he had always hoped, a healthy, happy man.

Mary Elder
Mary J. Elder, 43, of Grand Island died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services are pending with Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Fern Cook
STROMSBURG -- Fern Margaret Cook, 71, of American Falls, Idaho, died Dec. 31, 1998, at Harm's Memorial Hospital in American Falls.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Palmer Funeral Home of Stromsburg. The Rev. Jeffery Thurman will officiate. Burial will be in Hoffer cemetery near Gresham. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Cook was born August 5, 1927, at Osceola to Alber and Mildred Teegerstrom. She grew up on the family farm near Stromsburg and graduated from Stromsburg High School in 1945.
She married
Stanley Cook on June 20, 1948. The couple worked and lived in several communities in the United States before moving to American Falls in 1974. There Mrs. Cook worked for Lamb-Weston until she retired in 1985.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in American Falls.
Survivors include two daughters, Lorna Olsen of Surprise, Ariz., and Carolyn Webb of Chandler, Ariz.; two sons, Kent Schaufelberger of Meridian, Idaho, and Vance Robert of Idaho; her mother, Mildred Teegerstrom of Youngtown, Ariz.; one brother, Vance Teegerstrom of Stromsburg; two sisters, Pearl Holbrook of Fremont and Carol Schmidt of Youngtown, Ariz.; and numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
