Henry Busig
Henry W. Busig, 76, of the Nebraska Veterans Home died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services are pending with Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island.
Genevieve Conley
Genevieve E. Conley, 80, of Grand Island died Friday, March 27, 1998, at Lakeview Nursing and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church. The Rev. Michael Helwig will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Conley was born on June 27, 1917, in Jackson Township in rural Hall County to Louis and Mary (Bosler) Curry. She moved to Grand Island at an early age and was educated at Jefferson Elementary, Walnut Junior High and Grand Island Senior High.
She married
Leslie R. Conley on Oct. 29, 1937, at Lincoln. The couple lived in Grand Island, where she worked at the Palmer Hotel, the Yancey Hotel and as a seamstress.
She later worked as a cook at Parkside Nursing Care Center and Baumann Nursing Home. Mr. Conley died in February 1977. Mrs. Conley retired in 1978.
Mrs. Conley was a member of Christ Lutheran Church all of her life. She taught Sunday school for more than 20 years. She enjoyed reading, sewing and dancing.
Survivors include one son, Gene Conley of Grand Island; one daughter, Monica Isenberg of Grand Island; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one stepbrother, Marvin Muchow of Grand Island; one sister, Viola Griffins of Grand Island; and two stepsisters, Mildred Sheffield of Aurora and Berniece Nabor of Waco.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson and two sisters.
David Williams
David Williams, 47, of Grand Island died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at his home.

Stuart Schepers
SHELTON -- Stuart A. Schepers, 83, of Shelton died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Wood River.
Services are pending with the Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River.
Doris Phillips
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Doris Phillips, 85, of Walnut Creek, Calif., died Monday, March 23, 1998, in California.
Services were March 26 in Walnut Creek.
Oak Park Hills Chapel in Walnut Creek was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Phillips was born on April 6, 1912, to Scott and Maude (Gish) Heinzman in Dorchester. She grew up and attended Phillips schools and later returned to teach at Phillips High School.
She married
Bill Phillips at Grand Island. They lived in California. They had one son, Steve, who died in a motorcycle accident at age 21. Mr. Phillips died in 1995.
Survivors include two brothers, Dale Heinzman and Wayne Heinzman, both of Phillips.
Other than her husband and son, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Nellie Rickard
HEREFORD, Ariz. -- Nellie Mae Rickard, 100, of Hereford, Ariz., formerly of Grand Island, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Hereford.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Alda Cemetery. The Rev. Dick Urbach will officiate.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Faith United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Rickard was born on July 31, 1897, to Adam and Sarah (Herr) Large on a farm northeast of Wood River. As a young child, she attended schools in Hall County and Shelton and was a member of the Evangelical Church.
She married
Lloyd Rickard on Oct. 6, 1920, in Fairbury. The couple lived in Alda and Wood River for many years before moving to Grand Island. He died on March 23, 1950. She had lived in Arizona for 15 years.
She was a member of the Mary Circle in the Faith United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, a Gold Star Mother, the Heritage Club and a chaplain for many years. She owned and operated Nellie Studio and taught ceramics for many years.
Survivors include one son, Robert Rickard of Hereford; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold, who was killed in Germany on April 25, 1945, during World War II; two sisters, Bertha Smith and Hattie Newton; and a brother, Charles Lange.
Bonita Harnan
COLUMBUS -- Bonita "Bonnie" Harnan, 65, of Columbus, formerly of Scotia, died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church at Columbus. The Rev. Michael Klatt will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Hope cemetery at Scotia.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Gass-Haney Chapel in Columbus.
Memorials are suggested to the Lutheran Kitchen Fund.
Mrs. Harnan was born May 10, 1933, at Scotia to Roy and Eunice (Mallery) Bremer. She attended Scotia Public Schools and Grand Island Business College.
She married
William E. Harnan on April 24, 1953, at San Francisco, Calif. She worked for Sears R'buck and Co. for 20 years and also at First National and Clarkson TV Appliance of Columbus.
She retired April 1997 due to health problems. She had lived in Columbus since 1968.
Her hobbies included gardening and sewing.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Women's Guild Stewardship Board and Evangelism Caller.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Michael of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and Mark and Scott of York; her father, Roy Bremer of Scotia; one brother, Harold Bremer of Scotia; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and an infant brother.

LITCHFIELD -- Elizabeth C. "Betty" Peterson, 82, of Litchfield, died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at her daughter's home near St. Libory.
